A year ago, your instructions help me to attach the band properly. After one year of wear (I put the watch on in the morning and remove it when I go to bed), the velcro lost its grip. Because I like this practical and light band, I got two replacements. They are expensive. I guess I am OK for two years! In order to attach the new band, I had to watch your video again. So, thank you so much again for your review. 👍👍
I'm glad the Charge 5 has a nylon mesh band. I've been writing to Fitbit for a few years to make a nylon mesh band. They're lighter and fit the contour of my wrist better than the standard bands. I have two of them for my Ionic.
Thanks for the helpful instructions. To make sure you attach it the right way around is to match the Fitbit logo on the strap to the one on the back of the Charge.
I came to see how securely the connection points are on this band, because I just lost my last Charge 5 at the bottom of a river, so this was perfect lol. Thanks!
Great new bands! Better than silicone which so many people are allergic to! Velcro has a short open/close life cycle, so it may only last one year. Hopefully the price is good!
Just excellent! It's like you are reading our minds what we want to see and know about Fitbits... Thank you! Oh, nylon hook and loop band should get way more hype, too bad i cant even order it from my country :( (it ships to USA only) though there are plenty of fitbits with silicones in our local stores
As you showed, give the band a good tug after you attach it to make it's secure. I have a 3rd party "sport band" on the way. I find the holes allow for better breathability.
I used to wear a sport band for my Fitbit and Apple Watch, but ever since I got a sport Loop for my Apple Watch, I haven’t wanted to go back. I love the material and that it is more lightweight and flexible, and I love the “infinite” adjustability, so I can get a perfect fit. The only con for me is they take longer to fully dry, but it’s worth it for me 😊
@@wearablewhisperer I just can't stand the sound of Velcro separating. Plus, it seems like the fabric would retain odors. Of course can be washed. I had great luck with sport bands with my Charge 2, so I will stick with that.
I don't fancy that part of the velcro band receiver is visible on the outside of the band when worn. I went for the small-sized band just based on my preferences for other types of bands. My wrist size 16,9 cm would have been perfect for the large size band maybe. It would have the outer velcro totally covered.
just got mine today. Black unit and blue loop. It sucks that there arent many other third party options. My charge 3 had a third party velcro band that i got for lot cheaper and lasted quite long.
So, after three months, how is the hook & loop band holding up? I did not like the plastic band that came with the Charge 5 either after wearing one week. I ordered an Amazon cheapy hook & loop Velcro band, but it does not separate like most bands and has a plastic end stopping where it cannot be opened like most bands. The only reason I ordered the cheapy Amazon hook & loop for $9.99 was & is because Fitbit Charge 5 hook & loop band off Fitbit website is backordered and is supposed to ship March 11, 2022. I did order the band yesterday off the Fitbit website. The Amazon cheapy hook & Loop is OK, but hard to get on & off my wide hand, which I do every day before showering. I will put up with it until the Fitbit hook & loop band is delivered. Just curious on how the Fitbit hoop & loop band is holding up? Thanks, Don from Milwaukee
Mine is still my favorite band ever. The only small con is that a long-sleeve can get between the Velcro and either loosen the band or a small number of times it has unvelcroed. But it has always been something that I can feel and stop or catch before it falls off. It’s a con I’m willing to live with, but I can understand if it would be a deal-breaker for others. I don’t recall it happening for the first month or two of daily wearing, so perhaps the Velcro has worn down some. I still personally love the band and how soft and lightweight it is.
@Wearable Whisperer Thanks for the reply. As soon as I get the Fitbit hook and loop in March from Fitbit, I will be switching to that. I will keep the Amazon cheapy as a backup 😀
I have smaller wrists and when I tried the Charge 5 on in store there was a bit of a gap on the edges of the Charge 5 where it was over hanging my wrist slightly, but it looks like this band might fix that problem because it seems to hug the wrist tighter due to the way the fabric connects to the plastic clip. Unfortunately none of my local stores seem to stock this band.
I have the same problem! Just got the Fitbit charge 5 delivered and the firm Orta of the straps that connect to our way past my wrists. It’s unusable for me unless I get a strap that is more flexible and hugs my wrists better. This one might work!
Does the Charge 5 Hook & Loop band fit the Fitbit Luxe? I'm looking for a hook & loop band for the luxe to sleep in. I didn't want to have to buy a separate device for a more comfortable band for sleep tracking.
It does not fit the Luxe. There is a “Woven” band for the Luxe that you could look into. I wear the woven band for my Sense 2 during sleep and find it comfortable. www.fitbit.com/global/us/products/accessories/luxe-woven
Hi! How does it hold up after a long time? The original band makes my wrist very painful and irritated, so I'm debating between this one or the sports one
The sports one should be more durable, but I find the nylon band so much more comfortable. The Velcro does wear down a bit after some time, so it may need replacement at some point, but for me it’s worth it.
The band for the Charge 3 was far more breathable, the only reason I think that they might have used a different grade of rubber as the previous ones probably snap more easily.
When i get my Fitbit charge 5, i think I will stay with the bands that come with it unless they hurt my wrists. There seem to be several 1 and 2 star rating comments on Amazon that the Velcro straps come loose too easy or doesnt stay attached. Plus right now the large straps are not available. Thanks for the closeup review and demo though. take care.
That makes sense. After a couple months of daily use, my hook and loop band did start coming unvelcroed when I was wearing long sleeves and the sleeve came between the Velcro. It doesn’t happen constantly, but frequently enough for it to not be ideal. That said, I do still love my hook and loop band for its softness and light weigh and it’s still my favorite band ever (of any wearable!).
@@wearablewhisperer Thank you also for your information on the velcro straps. i may get the straps in the future, but right now my straps that came with the Charge 5 work good. If Amazon gets in the large straps, I may buy it then. take care.
I have worn it during a sweaty workout and didn’t feel the need to take it off right away afterward. I do try to hand wash mine with Cetaphil as needed and it still smells good and looks as good as the day I bought it a few months ago. It’s my favorite band of all time.
Are you wearing yours in the shower? The silicone band is giving me a fairly good rash. Maybe I should switch to a nylon band, and probably stop showering with it.

Slow speaking speech with interesting voice tone! Clear to the point and no background music. Keep up the good work!!! Thank you !
The silicon band has given me a nasty rash after 22+ hours daily on my wrist for months . I’m going to try this one
Same here. Nickel allergy symptoms, too.
Same here, Fitbit offers me to replace the band : sport silicone or this woven version. I'm going to try this one too!

I didn’t think I would like the extra Velcro visible either, but it ended up not bothering me personally. It is a weird design choice though.

@@JayaLove Let me know if you get it and how it goes as I'm still on the fence for this purchase.
I ended up getting the fitbit luxe which is smaller in all ways.
