I'm on Penang Island now, thanks for the pointers! Will be checking these out tomorrow! Your videos have encouraged me to travel for food and I'm currently on my first solo trip in Malaysia! ❤
When I was in Penang most restaurants served this condiment that was chilis in sweet soy sauce. It was served with seafood, noodles, etc. I was addicted to it. Try to taste this!
Have visit some asian country a years a go. 1 big difference between Malaysia and other asian country is, when at other country, people keep trying to ask money from me for a tips, got chasing by a group of begger & event got scamed twice, got threatened by some gangs which they call as premen if im not mistake (i dint want to mention the country name). But then, while in malaysia, people keep giving me free food and things. Malaysia the best ❤
Now in singapore we have people “selling” trinkets / socks / keychains … and they will come table to table and bug you for 2 dollars if you don’t buy stuff from them. Or another scam they will come door to door and sell you a 2 dollar ice cream for 10 bucks
If you’re privileged and lucky enough to travel, you should face the truth of humanity. 50% of people don’t have it as good as you. Get some perspective and stop insulting the poor
You have mistaken Malaysia with Singapore, I have been living in Singapore for the last 40 years, never encounter such problem you have mentioned but on the other hand, foreign workers will try to sell those key chain, strawberries or even men belt while you eating in eateries
Eaten like a true Malaysian, Mark. Deep fried pomfret head, prawn head, tomalley & all. Freshness of the ingredients was the highlight of the meals. 👍🫰
lol how could you tell that they were fresh? I feel you'd need to be there to know. Or maby you mean that the highlight was Mark telling it was fresh, then I'd understand
LOVE your enthusiasm and your posotive energy Mark! keep it up! 👍 from Sweden also love the fact that you don't sneak in commercials and ads in your videos lol
Malaysians people are always the nicest, generous, and friendly. They always welcome people from around the world to try their best food, and treat you for free.
Ikan bawal goreng (pomfret fish) with turmeric is absolutely delish! So hard to find outside of Malaysia/Indonesia... ahh miss it so much! Nice one Mark!
BRO if u return to ur country sooner i want u to come back here again during our ramadan...cuz in ramadan u will see many food that not usually sell in any day..surely worth to try
Penang is such a vibe!! Calm, relaxing, beautiful shoreside towns & villages on this island remind me of southern Phillipines in a way. The noodles mixed with the prawns looks amazingly delicious. The fish is fried perfectly to my liking complementing the sauce & chillies over a blanket of rice is so satisfying. Loving every bit of this Malaysia food tour!! Thanks alot Mark for all your dedicated magnificent work!! Safe travels & blessings always!! Cheers!! 🏝🦐🦀🍛🍻
I'm from teluk kumbar bayan lepas, in the 90s it was a fishing village and also paddy fields. My aunt had a seaside house on stilts near teluk bayu, but the land was acquired by the government for a hotel development. Now teluk kunbar has become more touristy and everything costs more, even my ex classmates cant afford to buy a house on the island, most moved to the mainland. I moved to kl for work and only come back every few years, lots of changes each time i go back.
Wow! Love the look of that crab and the prawns. I think I'll down there tomorrow and try it for myself. So many great food places here in Penang. Cheers
Ohhhh no mark!!!You are visiting restaurant is not far away from my home...if i knew i will invited you to eat at my house..Ikan sumbat aka jacket fish with sambal inside...with fish curry and fresh ulam and sambal belacan... with fresh ice lemon juice.... Your face reaction is very entertaining...no youtuber like you...i love it...
His wife is low tier compared to Sonny and Trevor James wife. Everytime she's there her face is 🌚 than tar like she's unhappy to be there. Reeks of gold digger.
One day is one day when I win the lotto and get to visit all these places and experience the food, the culture, the art etc in person. For now, am living my dream through Mark, Ying and Micah 🤩👌
Hey 👋🏽 Mark a grandma 👵🏽 in Chicago is on vacation with a champagne 🍾 hangover 😵 😂😂😂But made time to watch you eating 🍽️ delicious food 🍲 !!! Love and hugs sent your way sweetie!! ❤❤❤🤗👋🏽🍲👍🏽🍾👀
this proves that muslims are not terrorists as some western media report. muslims in malaysia always serve tourists who come in malaysia and are polite and polite. we welcome tourists and see the culture of muslim malays in malaysia. we live in peace
It's Malaysia, so I expect that it is a really fresh catch from the ocean, as you mentioned and not the yellowish farmed pomfret from China. In Canada, you can only get frozen farmed golden pomfret from China. I don't eat farmed fish and shellfish. I prefer sea borne seafood. Frozen is OK as long as they were harvested from the ocean. Tropical seafood is awesome, but only frozen ones in Canada, so every time I go home for vacation, I go to islands fishing villages with boats loaded with fresh catch.
Dear Mark thank you so much for making so delicious videos I’m watching every single shows of yours Mate I’m from Afghanistan 🇦🇫 I’m requesting you to go to Afghanistan you be loving our food and the smell from the skew kebab cooked on fire would take you to the next level. Premen is indonesia
It's "Preman" not "Premen" and yeah, Indonesia is bad for that pne reason tbh..
