I am married to a Fijian , and we as a family meet Every Monday night for dinner. Last week the whole family sat and watched the first three of Mark’s videos on Fijian food. We all had a good laugh. And thoroughly enjoyed watching Mark and his family getting stuck into the food. And the biggest laugh for us in a positive manner, was just how much Mark loves his 🌶️!!!!

Spent 3 months in 1998 on the island of yadua. We were the first non indigenous to live on the island as part of a baseline conservation project. The Fijians for me are the most friendliest, genuine people I have ever met and I've travelled over 50 countries and lived in a few.
Good to see Lau Islands get on the spotlight....Its always been the Yasawa Islands and the Nadi outskirts....Some beaches in the Lau archipelago are so turquoise and are second to none.....
Mark this is an epic trip!!! You are promoting the islands of the pacific to all the followers that have been with you for a long time, including me!!!
Yes it’s definitely a big part of fijian culture, along with all the other pacific island nations. They are raised to serve their guests well and give them the best that you have.
For those of us who live away from our island home, your videos has been a blessing. Nostalgic seeing how my people enjoy the very little they have yet the abundance in enjoying each others company and what the vanua provides. Thanks Mark for this video.

Some of the nature shots in this episode are stunning... and there's a community feel to this place that's really endearing. Such a great place to feature, Mark! Glad you got to join in on that kava ceremony 🙂
My favorite part is him showing the beautiful beaches, lushly green islands, all-natural ingredients, & tropical lifestyles. He really hit it out the park with this one.
Love your coordination with Hawaiian outfit. What amazes me is Mark is not afraid to explore, try and eat all kinds of food or anything from different cultures even the most "weird & scary" one. He really connects and immerses himself totally to the culture that he is in with high respect to the people's culture. That's perfect for the title of his channel, Food Travel. 🥰

Heaven On Earth . Alot of people go on holidays for the sights ,beach ,sea & sun . But Fiji is the people . The most friendliest you'd find in this earth ...
Possibly the friendliest people in the world! We took a child, who was hitchhiking back to his village, after a day in the field & the family welcomed us with kava. They invited us back, for a feast, in our honour, the next day. Then, they took us spear fishing & to a beach that they own. No white people had set foot on there, other than a movie cast, who filmed Blue Lagoon there. It was stunning! They taught Dad how to spear fish & climbed trees to collect coconuts for us. They treated us like Kings. They then had another feast in our honour. Honestly, it made the whole trip! Dad is a Doctor, so helped the local nurse to learn about HIV and she was so grateful. We ended up buying around $500 groceries for them to thank them. It was so lovely to see the kids trying biscuits for the first time. Such a special vacation. We kept in touch with them too.

My gosh ! I could live in Fiji just for the absolutely breathtakingly stunning beaches 🤩👌 Here in South Africa we call the moringa "Drumstick Herbs" and it's a mission to clean the tiny leaves off the stems so the easiest way is to wrap the stems in newspaper and the leaves fall off automatically. Apparently, you must only cook a certain quantity of the herbs or else the meal will be too bitter
you know that feeling when you're really happy that this place is being featured but at the same time being afraid for the people of fiji when it will be discovered by so many people. To the future tourists of fiji please respect them all. Leave them in peace

My gosh !
I could live in Fiji just for the absolutely breathtakingly stunning beaches 🤩👌
Here in South Africa we call the moringa "Drumstick Herbs" and it's a mission to clean the tiny leaves off the stems so the easiest way is to wrap the stems in newspaper and the leaves fall off automatically. Apparently, you must only cook a certain quantity of the herbs or else the meal will be too bitter
bula from Fiji
the bitterness is removed when the ladies squeezed it in water after boiling it....
Oi😂😂😂😂❤
you know that feeling when you're really happy that this place is being featured but at the same time being afraid for the people of fiji when it will be discovered by so many people. To the future tourists of fiji please respect them all. Leave them in peace
Very true and I'm a Proud fijian
Be discovered ? I’m pretty sure Queen Elizabeth Made sure of having that already happen along time ago
Mark is an amazing host, his sense of humour is top tier, and he's just such a likeable person, love this show.

Good on you Mark. Your videos are promoting tourism in Fiji. I don't know much about Fiji but watching your videos surely tells me that there's many beautiful tourist spots to visit in Fiji.
No one no one on UA-cam is like Mark Weins. I have learned humility, beauty, hospitality, friendliness from his Travels all over the world even at a time when the world is divided socially and other ways.
Thank you Mark ⛱️ 🏖
❤
In our Fijian culture it's normal and ingrained in us to treat our visitors and guests as kings and Queens.. But that doesn't make us weak people! "We Respect Everyone.
Oh Thank you so much Mr Mark. I teared up while watching this episode from my village😭 It is a very emotional for me to watch this. Thank you!

Love it!! That water is so clear, clean and inviting 🤗
A Huge Vinaka Vaka levu for this!!! I am from Daliconi and our family is the guardians of Qila Qila!! We are heading home for the first time in Sept and have been looking into the Kana in the village. This had truly truly helped. I really hope you enjoyed my father land.
It's amazing how things are done and love the aspects of the cultural views and the food it's truly amazing
i love that you wire the lavalava. i'm samoan but love seeing our cousin islands get there time to shine. amazing
In Java, the leaves at the beginning of the video are called Moringa leaves (daun katu). They are usually cooked in a soup with garlic and kencur (aromatic ginger), good for breastfeeding women
Much respect mark for showcasing our Itaukei traditional protocol such as the sevusevu to ask for the chiefs permission to freely roam around the land and sea. You have reached the island of my forefathers in fulaga and seeing the joy you had brought happiness to me. It's been a pleasure watching my hidden paradise on the world stage being unlocked vinaka ✔ 🏝🇫🇯
I'm so glad that Mark Weins popped up on U Tube about 3 years ago while I was looking through recipes. I absolutely love the shows. Mark, you've taught me so much about various cultures and the food eaten all around the world. I love to cook so I've started making various dishes I've seen on your show. Thank you for sharing with all of us. If you're ever in the state of Kentucky please post it. I'd love to see you in person. Not to mention how respectful you are of every place you visit. Thank you again!!! Susie from Ky
Wow just beautiful. The waves crashing on the shore. You are very lucky.

Very good video Mark. I just sat in my chair with amazement as to there were no crowds of people, no pollution. Beautiful people, beautiful islands. I love places like this.
Welcome to the islands ❤
Shout out to Mark Wiens for bringing us yet again a wonderful tour of an island culture, cuisine, and beautifully filmed and edited. You really have made huge strides in your editing and documenting of wonderful food moments, a true inspiration.
I was lucky enough to travel to Fiji twenty two years ago and the pork lovo was the best pork I have ever tasted in my life.
Now we’re talking 😂
I went to my village in Fiji some time back with a few friends, went hunting for wild boar 🐗 in the forest, butchered it and we all decided to experiment with some pork lovo on our own. Garlic, ginger, chillies and soy sauce. The most tender and juicy pork I've tasted.
@@amitchand1519 I had my pork lovo at the Shangri-La Fijian Resort on Yanuca Island. Still the best holiday I have ever had in my life and also the friendliest people I have ever met in my life.
@@amitchand1519why are u racist
@@DrBamWam I am curious to know which part of my comment sounds racist. Really very curious to know the thought process that lead to RACIST!
Thanks Marc, this has been an incredible series! Series series!!! I have gotten loving every second and learning so much. Thank
