- Today we will be discussing alot of lore implications and tying together threads of the sonic world's history to understand the connection between the mutated chao chaos and the warehog form of sonic the hedgehog and make revilations about the chaos emeralds.

I like your theory, and I do hope that the lore of the gaias will have more coverage in future games.
I don't think the Chaos Emeralds coming from space retcons anything. In actuality, it might just be that after they were brought to Earth, the Ancients(or whichever civilization had possession over the emeralds at the time) became aware of the Light/Dark Gaia rebirth cycle and built the temples that could harness the emerald's positive energy in order to assist Light Gaia. If you really think about it, someone HAS to have built those temples(if they always existed, that would imply Chip made them but also that the Gaia Colossus thing already happened before, which makes no sense because the temples are around the world and not inside the planet's core like they ended up at the final moments of Unleashed), so it's likely the rebirth cycle happened WITHOUT the interference of the Chaos Emeralds beforehand, but eventually were brought into the mix because they could help the planet recover and maybe even help preserve some of it, which would explain why there even are manuscripts that explain the rebirth cycle, implying some past civilization lived through it.
Chip and the temples being able to harness the power of their emeralds and the negative purple energy thing is probably due to their energy being compatible. The emeralds coming from outside the planet doesn't necessarily mean this can't be possible. I mean, the Master Emerald was already on Earth beforehand and it ressonated with the Chaos Emeralds. While at that, it's interesting to note that the Master Emerald is green. Of all colors... Why green? Why the exact same as Chip's signature color for his positive energy? And suspiciously, there is a broken purple emerald similar to the Master Emerald on Ares Island. There's even the chance of a dialogue where Sonic comments on the resemblance.
I really hope they aren't setting up a retconn

Well I wouldn’t say he wants unleashed to be wrong it’s like i said in the video he probably just didn’t interpret it the same way I did.
On his bumblkast he tried to make an explanation that the gaia temples were built by humans and the chaos emeralds light gaia used as a backup option incase he wasn’t there to put the earth back together himself
But of course as i go over in the video that explanation doesn’t really work

Note about Classic Sonic being from a different dimension thing: In the video where you cover the split timelines theory, you yourself state that Sonic and Tails met Classic Sonic in a white-space dimension. On top of this, there is a Tails Tube video where Tails not only clarifies that Classic Sonic is the same one from Generations, he also states that they consider time to be a separate dimension. (Despite that clearly not being the case no matter how much you twist logic.)
So, my theory is this. Tails wasn't referring to time as a different dimension. He was talking about the white-space dimension which they were using to time-travel in. I know its a pretty simplistic way to half-heartedly excuse the bad writing in Forces, but if you look at both games for what they are, it makes enough sense to patch up this BIG plothole. All we really need now is a point in a later game or piece of canon media confirming this to be the case. Then the damage will be more-or-less reversed when it comes to the lore. (Not Sonic's rep though. Forces is just one of the big three { 06, Boom, and of course this game} which completely put Sonic's rep in the toilet if you catch my meaning. And, I don't think that there will be anyway to permantly reverse the damage those games did, no matter what happened behind the scenes. (Seriously, Sonic Boom straight up killed the studio that was making it before it ever got off the ground. Now that's a solid excuse if I ever heard one. Forces has no excuse though so, yeah.)
The Werehog is because of Dark Gaia's energy/essence infecting him, it and DG have nothing to do with the Chaos Emeralds, there's a reason why Dark Gaia can't affect Super Sonic like it/he did with the Werehog and the Emeralds became black because all their Energy was drained to power the Chaos Energy Cannon.

I actually came up with a theory about the confusing thing Sonic Frontiers made which sorta contradicts the lore Sonic Unleashed created, which is that the Chaos Emeralds at some point after the Gaia temples were placed in their spots were send from Earth, AKA, the human world, to the Ancients for them to be the guardians while the Master Emerald was formed on Mobius, AKA, Sonic's world.
I thought about this too. I think the chaos emeralds were just used by every race or civilization for a benefit and earth I guess needed to suppress dark Gaia. Like the ancients using the emeralds first. Then the tribe. Then I guess Gerald robotic. And if I didn't forget anything earth and it's civilizations
I always interpreted the line with the chaos emeralds to mean that since the chaos, emeralds energy was what released dark Gaia, I notable amount of the negative energy from the monster was funneled back up to sonic as a kind of recoil. That energy would infuse with him leading to his Werehog transformation.
However, admittedly, I can’t deny that there are a lot of similarities between the Werehog and Chaos. Perhaps, even though they’re negative energy came from a different source, negative energy has similar effects in general? I mean, just look at the Nega Mother Wisp. Its transformation had nothing to do with negative chaos energy, but instead had to do with all of her energy being drained, resulting in nothing but negative power. And like chaos and sonic before her, this resulted in a creature with long arms and purple energy flowing through her.
Heck, as long as we’re going down this rabbit hole, look at Darkspine Sonic. Sure the energy he gives off is a fiery orange, but his entire form is still a menacing purple.
Whether intentional or not, this definitely gives off the impression that purple is associated with negative energy in the sonic lore (which coincidentally the purple chaos emerald associated with Mephiles in Sonic 06, but I definitely feel like that’s just a coincidence.)

Eggman's extractor siphoned away the power of the Chaos Emeralds in order to awaken Dark Gaia from his dormancy. If the theory that Chip has inherited some of the power from the Master Emerald is true, could it also be possible that Chip may have been the reason why the Emeralds were blackened to begin with, seeing as how the Master Emerald can neutralize the Chaos Emeralds?
I don't think Unleashed ever clarifies this but I wonder if there is a deeper connection between Chip and Dark Gaia than we think. They both possess the name Gaia after all, and are essentially the soul of the planet itself. It would explain why Chip lost his memories at the same time his counterpart was awakened.
I don't really have much of a basis for this theory so it's just guesswork, but I think Chip and Dark Gaia aren't just enemies but the same being that possesses a dual identity but conflicting natures, which explains the cycle of destruction and restoration.
Also I totally buy the idea that the Ancients may have built the Temples of Gaia as a safeguard in case the Gaia Cycle was disrupted. Someone had to have made the manuscripts detailing what would happen and make plans to avert the crisis in case it would ever occur. Guess they didn't want history to repeat itself like what happened with The End.

Dark Gaia wasn't awake in SA1 how could its powers effect chaos when it specifically states that Dark Gaia's powers go away when it goes back to sleeping/defeated
Because the power of the gaias are the exact same as the power of chaos in the emeralds or at least they’d originate at a similar place hence the parallels.
Or at least thats how the theory goes
@@dshaynietheawesome Chaos emeralds came from space and Gaia literally means embodiement/personifaction of the earth so they are not connected, however the director of frontiers said that there will be a connection to the ancients and gaia but I believe it makes much more sense if the chaos emeralds simply mutate chaos.
I think you missed the part where I explained how unleashed and frontiers were not written by the same writers and clearly have different visions for the chaos emeralds origins
And that there can be explanations written in future to make it make sense but for the time being this is just a theory

My point being we don’t know where things can go from here maybe ian flynn Will change the emeralds backstory again, maybe he will incorporate the stuff from unleashed if he was aware of it maybe not, I just made my video based on what the games presented and what fit together and besides the video is about sonic adventure and sonic unleashed not sonic frontiers
1:18 look, I’m a big fan of film theory, but I am scared of what they would do if they were to touch Thomas the Tank Engine.
We already have more than enough theories, trying to explain some “dark truth” behind why do trains have faces when it’s just a Bizarro quirk of the universe Thomas inhabits. In the world, Thomas inhabits, a Train, being able to talk is no more bizarre than a parrot being able to talk in the real world we live in.
However, I will say, there is a lot of supernatural stuff they could mess around with. Season five in particular features a lot of bizarre activity. Combine that with the fact the author, Reverend Wilbert Awdry, eluded to the idea that there may have been a satanic cult on Sodor. At one point, you could come up with the theory that they are responsible for the more ghostly paranormal aspects of the island. But the engines having faces is not one of those paranormal activities. That is just how the universe Works.
Edit: if by some bizarre chance MatPat or anyone else that film theory happens to read this, I just want to say I am a big fan of your work. But if you ever decide to tackle Thomas the Tank Engine, please don’t make another “The trains are human test subjects” theory. There is so much more interesting stuff to theories about in the lore of Thomas and friends

10:50 to be fair, and you kind of have to squint a bit. For this, you could justify tail saying that classic sonic is “from another dimension“ by saying he’s referring to the dimension of white space. A plain of existence stuck between points of time and space.
I still believe the Classic Sonic in Mania and Forces is the result of a split Timeline from Generations (because quite frankly, there’s no way sonic went through the events of generations and forces when he was younger and doesn’t remember it has his modern self) but at least that clears up the dimensional issue, more or less. It’s kind of like putting duck tape onto a pierced tire, but at least it kind of fixes the issue in the moment.
That talk of Sonic Adventure being a perfect translation into 3D was so heavily sarcastic that it sounded sincere, which made it all the funnier. Well done not laughing part way through saying that.
I remember watching that game theory and not understanding what the point of it was. Like he even brings up the bumblekast where Ian Flynn says that chaos is a mutated chao which themselves are mutated ancients. Like why did you need to make a video in this? It’s not even a theory anymore you’re just restating what he already said

3:00 This is what the human species has come to. Pre-judging youtube videos about Sonic the Hedgehog based on their "condescending" thumbnails. We're basically dead-set on recreating the future from Wall-E at this point
I called the thumbnail condescending as it has nothing to do with the content of the video itself and paints a completely different impression of what you are about to watch, I mean it's literally sonic throwing the game in the bin, even though in the video itself everything checks out and doesn't break the lore like the title implies.
