I agree with you that Ock's leadership is really exciting. A cool aspect of the leadership is that the bonus power happens even if your model isn't damaged by the attack. This makes it really interesting for Kingpin who can reduce damage to zero and get his power refunded, as well as other unaffiliated tough bruisers with similar powers.
This enables some insane play for Rhino. Take 1 chip damage, move small, push M, hit with 7 dice, hopefully generate more power for either the throw or This is a Robbery.
I've played him a few times now and think he is solid. Being able to throw from 3, and set up a double beam attack to a group of models is golden. I think you are fishing for wilds and crits, but with so many rolls the odds stack in your favour.
Doc Ock looks great and it's refreshing to have another Foes leader. I would say I'd love to have a 3 threat leader because I think every affiliation should have one, but I don't think Ock makes much sense as a 3 with this kind of kit. One thing I'd love to see is you going back to Foes for a breakdown video once we have more information about the affiliation pack with the remaining members. There's just something that draws me to Foes, so all this new stuff is very welcome. Just have to finish painting my Mysterio and get Rhino built and painted!
Ive had a great time running Iron man (either one) with new ock leadership, you gain so much power that helios is brutal early to any big threat. Mysterio does gain a lot of power if attacked with a blank in the roll. Venom gets basically a 1 cost counter and loves getting to avoid those conditions.
@@VincentCurkov Either Iron man works but you would have to commit in roster building as i wouldn't/Couldnt run both in foes, i prefer 3 threat currently due to the power of 4 threats in Foes compared to their lack of good options of 3's outside Lizard for the Leadership. its really hard to ignore Ironman in S6 with Either Helios (for Malakith/hulk/Big boys) or Armory, both pose huge threats when activated. its still a more flex side pick than core but id staple him in the roster for sure. Id also probably opt to ignore the In shield affiliation iron man as i feel i never get enough hits on him without being in a troublesome range of the gun line for too long. The New Models for foes may change the entire play style though of course.
I like that this gives you a different way to play foes. I am not sure you build with both leaders though. The list feels like they would share very few models, but I would have to play it to really get a feel for how I want to play him and if there is enough cross over to make a dual leadership squad viable. If this doc ock could use well laid plans then I think it would be a lot better. Overall I am really excited for him to see how he plays. How do you feel this leadership stacks up against a tall murder list like Thanos Guardians or Malekith Cabal. I feel like those teams will tear down the foes quickly so it will be hard to benefit from this leadership in that kind of match up
I don’t think this leadership makes foes the kings of attrition and those two you named are two of the best things in the game atm. So I don’t think they stack up great. But I do think this release gives them more game than they previously had and this is our day probably helps in those matchups.
His sculpt does look good, but I hafta admit, the one that came in the Diaroma set is really my fave.. very dynamic.. too had he doesn't have his signature 2002 trench coat on..😿

I definitely will return to foes. They are a favorite of mine. Once the new mega box for them comes out seems like a good time.

Iron man is a good call. My games with the new iron man people have largely left him alone but that might be because of all the def tech in shield.
