Sharon Classen, PT, ATC, CERP, oversaw all the physiotherapists at the World Equestrian Games to make sure the elite equine athletes and riders received the best medical treatment before, during, and after competitions.

Hi, I'm Sharon Classen. I am a physical therapist, athletic trainer, and I'm also certified in equine rehab. And I stopped by the Multi Radiance booth here to talk to Mark. I am back in the trenches here. I am in charge of all the physios here at the World Equestrian Games and also in charge of working with equine athletes as well from other countries.
And I stopped by to inform him number one, that I was just told that the medical coverage here at the World Equestrian Games is unprecedented in history, which I think is very important. It's a great thing for, number one, the United States but also for all of us that are providing the medical services, so I'm very honored to be here.
I stopped by, and Mark usually conducts the interviews but I'm going to conduct the interview here, to let you know that the Multi Radiance Laser I use as a tool in almost all the athletes that I treat, whether they're human athletes or equine athletes.
I've been here now, this is the second week of the World Equestrian Games (WEG), and I have utilized it extensively. It's been a key tool that I've used to treat a myriad of conditions. Some of them are pre-performance, I have edema, inflammation, pain reduction. A lot of fatigue, a lot of recovery time with the athletes and this is something that's been extremely key.
With the Multi Radiance ACTIVet PRO LaserShower, some of the things that I have noticed with it, which I haven't noticed as much with the ACTIVet PRO, is when I'm actually predominantly going over, for example, the lumbar area and if they have a lumbosacral problem, I start to notice the response of the horses and I start to notice that there's a lot more relaxation with the horses, they start licking their lips, but I notice the hypertonicity that I see in the horses diminishes and then I'm able to go in and use my joint mobilization on the horses.
So I just stopped by to inform this man that he has been so kind in supporting me with his products and I've used them extensively and they're FEI safe, so I feel very comfortable going in and treating all the horses. I think for those of you out there, you need to understand that this is not just your backyard horse. I am treating elite athletes in the world and they're entrusting me to treat either the human athletes or the equine athletes, and I get very, very positive feedback from them on utilizing the Multi Radiance units.
I've had many medal winners, horses and humans, during the first week hopefully we'll have more this week, that I've worked on. I've had individuals where the reduction in edema has been 50% in one day.
I just worked on a four-legged athlete yesterday that the pain provocation, when you went down to the low back the horse almost down to the ground. And part of my treatment was using laser therapy with the Multi Radiance laser working on trigger points, working on releasing the myofascial and also the hypertonicity that then allowed me to go in to do my manual skills on the horse. I just reach for it, it's easy.
