Very cool guys! Thanks Rob! Thanks Pete! Thanks for the support! Artbook came in 1000 copies, sold out, BUT there might be some copies here and there :) So get it if you can!
From work, to home for travelling, th best choice!!!! Great songs, vocals, instruments solos, and all production is so wonderful! Thank you to AFM Records for this music send me, all of us!
Pete, you got me in to this band a while back. Thank you! I have been looking forward to this review. Thanks for bringing on an Evergrey fan to help out. This is yet another great release. I am hopeful that they tour the U.S. in the future.
Great review! So far I have just listened to the Escape Of The Phoenix's title track, Forever October, and While August Mourns and watched the official videos. I like them a lot. Now, I will be sure to give the whole album a try. Thanks for the insightful review.
I've been borderline obsessed with this band since 2003. I just can't think of too many bands that have such an impressive discography. They're a total package that brings everything one could want to the table. Solid songwriting, outstanding vocals, emotive guitar solos, killer album covers, and they're great live. There's literally nothing left to long for. All bases are covered. I finally got to see them in 2017 and hang out with them for about an hour after the show. You couldn't ask for a nicer group of guys.
Been a fan since the Inner Circle. Unique album and i still love it. I really didn't like the few albums that came afterwards such as Monday Morning Apocalypse and Torn, so i kind of gave up on them. Im gonna have to go back now and get the last 3-4 albums since they seem to be back on track.
Evergrey are without a doubt one of the most talented acts of the past 20 years. They deserve much more recognition and fame. Hard to categorise : Pain of Salvation on steroids? That said, like Pain of Salvation, there music doesn’t age as well as for instance Dream Theater, Symphony X or Threshold. The other thing that makes it hard for me to listen more than 4 songs in a row is the heavy use of detuned guitars. Those things may sound heavy, but they take away the groove and rocking effect, whilst doing no favor to the melody of the songs. Same reason I find nu-Metal boring. But that’s just a personal opinion.
I used to be into Evergrey, but Monday Morning Apocalypse & Torn bored me to tears and I moved on. How do their later albums compare to earlier albums such as In Search Of Truth and Recreation Day?
@@timbates6309 Especially, The Atlantic. It's an epic masterpiece. Possibly, their best album or at least up there with In Search of Truth. The new record is good but I wouldn't say it comes close to beating The Atlantic.
@@lungbarrowuk That's the record that first got me into Evergrey. Unfortunately, I was late to the party with this band. I still love that record and liked it better than The Atlantic at first, but the latter really grew and grew on me.
No doubt the music on this album is top notch, but there's ZERO innovation here, it's like every chorus/riff/.. is re-hashed from the previous 3 albums. Now in the other hand, the latest Epica hasn't left my player.

The new album is growing stronger for every time I listen to it. On CD of course!

I love the sound of Evergrey’s new CD , ‘Escape of the Phoenix’!!🎼🎤🎸🎵🥁
Saw these guys open for the best show lineup I've seen - In Flames, Throwdown, Nevermore and Evergrey.
I’m digging it, another solid Evergrey release

Wait till you hear the new Dream Theater..Petrucci is going to be using a 8 String !! LOL
Their first albums were Prog/Power metal, but their newer are more of a darker Prog Metal
I was waiting for this review. I assume the new Epica has to be next? I'm really curious to hear your take on that.
Is there a link for that Facebook group?

Hi Pete, hopefully you get to review the new alice cooper album thanks

I'd say that their last 4 albums rival those early great ones-definitely check them out!!
@@seaoftranquilityprog Thanks.

What genre is this?
Hard to categorize them , but it's a Mix of Melodic Power / Progressive Metal
I have Earbook guys and the t shirt

I kinda hated this album... I miss their early heavy Prog Power metal albums...
i guess you're in the minority then
@@robmlisanti I guess I am. Good for them, they can sell more records. I'm happy for it. I just wanted a different version of their sound.
