A refresher course is always welcome and for newcomers it’s essential to boost their confidence and knowledge. No one better to teach us than you my friend.
As you were selecting your papers to collage the cover, I kept thinking “no wonder you love those papers, they are the perfect match for your Gayle sweatshirt!” What a fun refresher course this was! Thanks so much!
Very nice. I don’t consider myself to be a beginner anymore, but I always learn something when watching you. This is a super video for newbies and more experienced crafters alike. You are a natural teacher, Gayle. And, such a good encourager! “You can do it, you can do it.” Awesome!! ❤
This is absolutely fantastic! I am a beginner…maybe a month now, and this was the best beginner video I have seen. It had a lot of information and was the basics needed to get started. Am still binge watching your videos and loving them all! Your joy is contagious and I love starting my day watching your videos. It has helped so much as I am struggling at work these days. You start my day on a positive note. Thanks for all you do!
Can I make a cover like this to use for a flip out envelope 1 signature section? I have kind of bound some coffee dyed envelopes together, about 8 and needed an idea for a journal cover. Do you think tour cover process will work for this? Its my first one.
Your enthusiasm and encouragement are boundless, as evident in this video. Thanks for encouraging us all to use things on hand. I cut a couple of thin card fliers to use as bases for journal cards and tags. There's a bag of mail that needs sorting, so my next step is obvious! Thanks again, and have a super day! 👌
Thank You - for thinking of the newest journal members. Quick and doable with items you have already at home. You have a wonderful teaching voice that draws us all in and your laugher is very contagious.
Gayle you are so good to always take The time to help the newbies. And you always explain it so well. To all the newbies. I to was nervous to try making a journal. I loved making the ephemera and finding the papers to go in the signatures. It was sewing in the signatures that had me scared. But I would tell Gayle and she would encourage me and finally one day after watching one of her videos she reminded me that it’s only paper and it can be undone and fixed. So I got enough nerve to try. My youngest had a birthday coming up and I knew no matter how bad it was he would love it and be proud of me. So I proceeded to try. It took me two weeks and taking the signature out twice and resewing it in. But when it was all done it turned out pretty good. So just give it a try. What’s the worst that can happen? Maybe tossing it in the trash but I bet you won’t because it will be ok. Even if you have to try three times to get it right. Be encouraged 😊❤!
Hi Gale, As a newbie to "junk journals" I can see that the process of fearlessly ripping away on junk mail takes the sting out of the guilt that occurs if we make mistakes. The way you teach this project is so much fun to watch as you effortlessly create a snazzy little journal in less than an hour. Thank you for sharing your time & talent and making us all smile & laugh.
Great video, Gayle! After weeks of watching you and several others, I finally got brave enough to make a journal, but I used junk mail instead of my pretty papers. That took off the pressure of messing up since I knew I could throw it in the trash without feeling guilty if it sucked! After that, I asked myself why I had been so hesitant! I was very pleased with the results and now have an art journal where I can practice collage, painting, etc., without pressure. Maybe this will encourage someone else who has the same fears I did. It's so much fun! Just do it!
What a generous and encouraging person you are. I’ve been making junk journals for a couple of years now and have been inspired by you. Again, thank you for so generously sharing your knowledge and talents with all of us.
Hi friend! Great refresher for all of us...thanks for being considerate of those just discovering the art of making journals. It’s a wonderful community of friends learning from each other and I’m grateful for it and You 💜. Blessings (Patty)

@@loripinard3280 🤣 you have a great point. The quality of my language diminishes about midway on the fairway. Obviously I need to work on my short-game. I think one of those lessons needs to be in my future 🤔 😅
Good to see this again. Has taken me all day to watch as had meetings and other things throughout the day. But my day’s not complete unless I spend it with my friend Gayle! ❤ Have a Blessed day!
I think it's wonderful, Gayle, that you have presented this video in the hopes of helping people begin the fun journey of making junk journals. As I've mentioned before, in 2019 I came across one of your videos and watching you create gave me the confidence to believe I could make these books as well. You are so positive, knowledgeable and inspiring! Thank you for your willingness to share the fun and creativity of junk journal making with others!!
A return to our journal making days. It’s always so good to watch you teach. Good morning, Gayle🌞As always, it’s so good to do and relax. Take care and hoping your deck gets done soon. ❤
Oh Gayle, you are so nice. Your encouragement to those new ladies is wonderful. I have been making journals for several years and yes, I remember being nervous as to where and how to start. This video should put all beginners as ease. I hope those who are nervous to start will just jump in there with this video.
Good morning, Gayle! What a fast and fun little journal. I am so grateful you're here to share your time and knowledge with us. Be safe out there. Love ya!!!
I remember the first one I did. I watched a lot of your videos and just decided to do it. I learned a lot from that first one and I call it my baby. I held on to it for a long time then when I decided to sell it my boss bought it and gifted it back to my and said I wasn’t allowed to sell my baby. I was hooked and have done so many since then. I learn and grow each and every time. Thank you Gayle for giving me the confidence to go for it!
This is a great reference video for beginners, and for those who need a refresher/reminder, like me 😁 I don't make TNs as often, so usually have to look up the measurements each time. You make it all so achievable for anyone. You're a treasure! 🥰 Belinda xxx
Good morning Gayle!! I watched you for about 9 months before I got the courage to make my first journal. I was a scrapbooker before journal maker, so I used what I had. And I did say..."why did I wait so long to try this"?? 🤣 I still use the one sided thinner paper packs for collage. After making my 4 daughters, daughter in law and granddaughter a 3 signature journal for their birthdays, they talked me into opening an Etsy shop. Thank you for teaching us new things everyday! I can't start my day without coffee and Gayle...🥰 Have an awesome day...💜

And of course all new ladies welcome. You can learn a lot from Gayle. I have learned a lot from her in every case and she still comes up with very nice ideas.
Good afternoon Gayle! 💕 I should be eating, but had to have some hot coffee as soon as I came in from work. So I get to have coffee and Gayle while I warm my old bones. 😊 Just today received a fancy 3 fold piece of junk mail. Good sturdy weight, though shiny. May try using it for one of these TN.
