just ran across your channel and am now binge watching ur videos. I know this is an older video but I just have to say you make the most beautiful things. I love crafts but I have nowhere near your talent. Your travelers notebooks are so great, beautiful, etc. I just wanted to tell u I appreciate ur videos and am now subscribed. Thank u for all that u do. 💓
TN’s are my most favorite journal size, because it fits in my purse, for journaling on the go, since I write in my journals everyday. This one is beautiful, and the video was awesome 💕🌸💕
Thank you for saying hello. I just love watching you! I discovered I'm pretty much addicted to junk journaling. Of everyone I have watched I like yours best.
Love this! The lace just makes it! Try getting a fine Sharpie and drawing a black line down one of the cracks in your scoreboard...like the 6” line. It makes it so easy to line up the small pockets and things for scoring straight.
I had wanted to try a TN, so thanks for sharing this. I have some nice paper that I’ve been hoarding, so this could be a great use for it and then a great Mother’s Day gift, perhaps. Thanks for the idea. I cannot wait to see this once you’re done working your lovely magic on it. I was giggling a little today with you because sometimes I feel like someone moved stuff on me too... lol. Enjoy your night; hopefully Mike continues to feel ok over the next day or two. Certainly worth a little discomfort to know that you’re safe from everything.
Those papers are so gorgeous. I can't wait to see how it all turns out. I'm definitely going to have to get a book cradle from Amy to make it easier on me when I put together my journals.
Thank you. Once again for your inspiration. Will try to make my first today. Now I have good measurements... and I sewed with the machine for the first time yesterday... ok. Hubby had to set up his machine for me. But it worked.
I have not started making journals yet. I have just been gathering up supplies. I am definitely going to make a travelers journal for my first attempt! Thank you for all of your inspiration!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Love this paper so much!! Can't wait to use mine I got last week. But today is clean up in the she shed!! Finished my daughter's 2 wedding scrapbooks and have a mess to clean before my next project. She loved them so much and cried while looking through them!! So happy to be with my kids and grandkids yesterday. 🤗 Have an awesome day!! 💜
Traveler's notebooks refers to the style of using elastic on the spine of the cover (traditionally leather) to hold "inserts" of paper or otherwise that can be replaced to keep using the cover. :)
Yes I was really hooked on the original travelers notebooks (It was the binding system that made it unique and I loved the concept. Still do! I love the blue fern TN but I almost think of it as an insert because it can go into a TN. I make inserts like this sometimes and then make a hard cover with elastic bands to hold them. I love this size too.
Nothing to do with ur wonderful breakdown of a travelers journal...but I noticed ur name tag... ketchup...my maiden name is Ketchum and my maternal grandparents were Hines...imagine My childhood...ha ha..!!
Hey Gayle!!! Love your TN!!! Blue Fern is so pretty!!! One thing that I do is I have a black Sharpie line drawn down the middle of my scoreboard at 6". … Makes it super easy to line up😉 Thank you for sharing your talents!!!
Gayle, This traveller's notebook is going to be so beautiful. Once again you work your creative magic and turn papers into a work of art in less than an hour. Thanks for giving me a reason to smile 😊 Enjoy your evening. Hugs 🤗 Your friend Cindy, from a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️❤️❤️
Hello, I want to say that I'm new in making junk journals. You have convinced me how easy and fun they are to make and enjoy. These beautiful papers you are using, awesome! You did a great job. I'm in on making one, just like yours, I hope. Thank you for sharing. : )
Good morning sweet Sis! Been awake since 5am… ugh! So crafting with You this morning before I film or maybe just coffee with Gayle! 😊 Have a marvelous Monday! Love and hugs! 💖🤗💖
I’m so glad I watched this video. Not only is it great inspiration but you mentioned the binding cradle again and when I looked it was in stock...so I bought one. Thank you!
I have been behind on videos for days😞. So I had been gathering papers to start on making some travelers notebooks for the shop and decided to find one of your old videos to see if the measurements in my head were right for making them. And what was on for your video yesterday but a travelers notebook. I told Jeff that it was amazing how many times this happens and how I and my friend Gayle think alike on so many things!! And he said well of course Freida you two are spiritual sisters and not just in creating but in the way you feel about your families and the desire you have to help others, the way you pray for each other and it shows in your friendship. I am grateful for the technology that brought you into my life my friend and though we have not actually met each other the friendship we have made over these few years.
It’s fun watching you as I debate with you about what to use and where. Even when I’m skeptical, your choicest really spot on. You are constantly pushing out of my staid choices. Glad you used the brown lace. From now I will consider contrast rather than blend. Hugs
Gayle I’ve so enjoyed your videos you are very talented. I laugh a lot, “talk amongst yourselves” is my fav. I don’t make a lot of comments because I watch you on tv therefore I can’t make comments but I want you to know you are on my list to watch every day. God Bless. PS I’ll keep shouting we’re your things are you’ve lost.bye!
I store my glue bottles (with their tips with tops like yours) tip side down in an old bread pan with the tips in the corners. Then the glue is already toward the tips. Only once it oozed into the pan because I knocked the knitting needle tip protector off. I store some small clips on the edge of the pan to keep the bottles in a tilted down position. The pan is a bit bigger than I need but its weight and height of walls works for now. I also have small folded paper towel pieces as a cradle and a little square out paper towel under the tip for any oozing. This is if I’ll be gluing several things in a smaller unit of time.
Beautiful paper, the TN is looking awesome! The pen charm is perfect, you do need something to write in it with. Thanks for a fun hour, Gayle, you had me cracking up. Debbie :)
You make this look so easy! I haven’t attempted a book yet! But I sure want to try it now! Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful Travelers Notebook! 👍🏻🤩😍
I was laughing so hard during this one! You can tell it's a "Monday" video! hahaha I can't believe you didn't hear me yelling at you about your rouge pin...too funny. Gayle don't stick yourself! Gayle the pin is under your score board! And when you said an alien had taken over your body, I spit out my coffee!
Gayle I use to have trouble lining up on scoreboard until I used a marker to draw in some lines. I drew down the 2" 4" 6" 8" !0" but you can draw any of them. What a difference it made, never have any more issue with lining up my scores
This is one of the fastest Travelers Notebook assembly I have ever watched, good job. I made some of the booklets you showed on use it up Tuesday and I'm not sure if I missed the video on how to attach the pages on the inside or you haven't done a video on that yet. I will set them aside for now but they are very fun to make I have been enjoying decorating the covers. Have a good day!
Sooo funny when u said not to get to Pickyunish....we actually lived in Picayune, Mississippi when we worked in New Orleans, LA....its only 40 minutes away....ha,ha,ha!
I just started using my sewing machine to punch holes in my card stock covers along the edges equidistant all the way around. Then I use those holes to embroider blanket stitches around the edges. It looks really nice, I think. I’m trying out different stitch lengths and using some embroidery threads and some really fine crochet threads. I haven’t seen this done by anyone else and I’m still deciding if I like it. Slow stitching belly bands etc gave me the idea for slow stitching along the edges of a card stock cover.
Oh my gosh you are a hoot! I love laughing with you! I feel like you’re my pal; in fact after I told my elderly mother about what I bought after seeing it on my pal’s UA-cam channel, she said, ‘I need your pal’s phone number!”🤣🤣🤣
It would look cool if the tabs on the triangle corner tucks were wrapped around the page. The other side of the pages will have a decorative corner adornment.🦌💌❤️📚
Gayle when I need to score small things like those pockets, I took a fine point pen and placed it on the 6 inch mark and colored all the way down. I had trouble keeping some things on the right line on the score pad. Hope this helps.

Thank you for saying hello. I just love watching you! I discovered I'm pretty much addicted to junk journaling. Of everyone I have watched I like yours best.
Happy Monday Gayle, thank you for your video. I’m going to use some of my Stamperia paper & finally make a TN . I’ve been saving it long enough. 💚💞💚
I so enjoy laughing while I watch your videos. I m glad I'm not the only one having trouble with scoreboards!
Love this! The lace just makes it! Try getting a fine Sharpie and drawing a black line down one of the cracks in your scoreboard...like the 6” line. It makes it so easy to line up the small pockets and things for scoring straight.
Oh Gayle, those pockets look like they were made for TN’s. Beautiful papers. Bring on the decorating....😻🥰

Just watched that one.
Hugs to you! These are always enjoyable to watch come together.
I learned so much watching this video. Thank you, Gayle!
Loving this travellers notebook. Thank you for sharing!🇨🇦
TN style journals are in my top two. They are easy to get everything the right size and assemble. One of the first journals I made was a TN.
Going to a retreat is such a sweet treat! Love this travelers journal with Blue Fern papers.
This is going to be a beautiful TN what with the Blue Fern papers and the pretty lace!! Can't wait to see this one finished!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)

Greetings from Argentina. It is a pleasure to follow your channel. This project is beautiful, it has been an hour that has flown by.

Cute notebook! I haven't made one of those for a long time, now I have to!
I just finished watching the 4 fold ephemera folio from the 12x12 papers, from the Blue Fern Collection.
I adore their papers.
Blue ferns paper is stunning!! Thank you for the inspiration 💓💓💓
Gayle I use to have trouble lining up on scoreboard until I used a marker to draw in some lines. I drew down the 2" 4" 6" 8" !0" but you can draw any of them. What a difference it made, never have any more issue with lining up my scores
