So many great ideas in this book and wow the whole with the file in it. So creative! TFS this great idea.
This idea is so great. And I love that you shared it. My mom passed away and I was making my girls a " Little Darling "book of recipes. They called her Darling. I've collected pictures and recipes that belonged to her and this is a great idea. I think I'll use it. I've been searching for an idea that will work. I think this is it. So thank you very much.
That is absolutely fabulous. What a creative idea. Thank you for such clear instructions and a flip through. Love it!
Oooooo...this is amazing!!! The little piece you don't know what it is, it's the silver label strip on the mixer. If you look at kitchenaid mixers, there's your extra piece! Love your work!!!! I'd love to try something like this! God bless! 🌺
At first I always get a little upset when I saw books (any kind of books) being destroyed. It gives me the creep. But, I'm glad you did it! It turned out to be great! Love it!
Wow! Your altered books are always so amazing! This is so clever and well made
Hi Angela. Your recipe book is so cute. Thanks for taking the time to do the tutorial because I think it would be so much fun to try one myself. Again this book is really cute and so creative.
Hugs, Wanda
Very clever & it turned out really pretty. I loved all of the embellishments & great use for the envelope accordion file. TYFS xxoo
Angela Blanchard That's awesome! I love repurposing items & I'm just getting back into crafting & love these Journals made out of almost anything & everything! Loving seeing everyone's creative process as well. xxoo
Adorable book! I love all the kitchen stamps you used.
That line under the rolling pin looks like board that you roll on. I think.
Love this altered cook book journal, I am so inspired, I am gonna make one for myself! Not for cooking but something else :)
Thanks for sharing and let me learn from your mistakes (?).
I think it turned out awesome and super cute!!!
My guess is that the little strip is to cut a piece of paper to go into the bowl to look like a spoon. Great altered book. And I love seeing them altered, rather than thrown in the trash. So much better.
I just had another guess. It is the strip going across the top of the mixer like a Kitchaid has.
OMG! This is such a cool altered book! What a neat idea, especially for recipes ❤ It would be a great wedding present or new home present for someone just starting out! Thank you for sharing with us. PS - I call those magazine subscription cards "magazine seeds" since they grow new magazines ;)
Thank you for sharing your ideas and talents. I love this book idea.
The combination of junk journal and cavity is sooo cool! Love the food related tags too! TFS
I love it! You have inspired me to do one for my mom. She has tons of very old recipe clipping, etc. I will be in search of an old recipe book at the junk stores! I think that die that is under your rolling pin is the holder for it. My mom has a rolling pin made of marble. It is very heavy and it requires a holder on the counter when you use it. You would break it or your toe if it landed on it! LOL... thanks for sharing! cj
that was just awesome .alot of work to remove all those pages ,but I loved the end result .great job.
I loved this video! Great process and you are a pleasure to listen too. I love the whole idea of it from the envelope accordion pages to the bread tabs. TFS Rebekah
Loved your recipe book., gave an idea to make a baby photo, memory book. Thank you for sharing your talents.
I think the die cut thing is supposed to be like a spoon end? If you just use the bowl part from the mixer, you can have a spoon end sticking out of it. That's my best guess!
Great idea! Thanks for your good way of presenting your video. No nonsense just a precise presentation. Thanks for sharing.
+Nancy Allen AMEN....no chatter about her...children...loss of work etc..Just info for us ...to make these... :) Job well done...
I love your recipe box! I just found your UA-cam channel and loved it! Thanks for sharing!
Angela this is super cute! I tried making a book like this 20ish years ago as a teen to hide my "special treasures". My cavity was not nearly as uniform as yours! lol. I think the tabs are my favorite part.
***** i don't, sadly. I am a hardcore purger and must have gotten rid of it before I got married. It's one of only a few things I ever regret getting rid of.
I just love your idea. It’s so unique. So different great idea.
Thank you Joanne! It was a lot of fun to make- I love books with hidden spaces in them. :-)
What a cool idea! Using an old recipe book for a recipe book... I love it!
When you do a book like that glue the pages together only on the 3 sides first before you cut into it. Stand the book up on its spine then glue. Then you can cover the back and glue your pages down after the sides are dry. Then it makes it easier to cut into. Hope this helped a little. Thanks for sharing. :-)
+Jeanie Gregory Good info. I will remember this for future reference. TFS
This is absolutely amazing!! Gave me lots of inspiration. Thank you so much!!
So creative! I LOVE the expandy envelopes. I will definitely be using that one, along with the tea bag tabs. When I saw those in your journal, I immediately thought of using bread tabs the same way.....and THEN I saw that you did that too. LOL
New subbie here. :-)
NO, NO, NO, NO!!!! That's Amy Vanderbild's Complete Cookbook in good condition... You just made me cry.
+Angela Blanchard Did you know that the original illustrations in your wonderful altered cookbook were done by a young Andy Warhol? ( :
I luv it! Great idea and I think it turned out fabulous! Luv the paper and the cover is so cool! I've done a book cutout like this before and I know it is not as easy as one would think. TFS! xo
Great idea, and fabulous execution!
Fantastic idea, combines my love of boxes with junk journals and so practical. Delighted I found your video! 💕
Ohhh I so Like the way you did this ! Thank you.
This is wonderful. Great idea and tutorial. Thanks for sharing!
The other below the rolling pin with handles is a rolling pin as well . My DIL uses that kind and in fact gave me one. Your hands warm the wood, therefore transferring the warmth to your pastry or dough to soften it. Now you know. Lol.
Really love how you have created such a fun, crafty and practical recipe holder/planner!! Genius!🍕📔🍴
I don't know if you ever tried this again, but my husband made one of these and he found it easier to glue it first from the outside and then cut the cavity. It worked like a charm. It is really misleading though on the size of the cavity. They always look like they will be larger than they turn out!!!! Yours is really nice! I would have had a HARD time cutting up an old cookbook!!!! hahaha!!!!!!
Well, your husband is a smart guy! I'm just a little slower on the uptake! hahaha! 😂
What a great idea! I have a few old cookbooks and you've just inspired me to make a junk journal. Thank you so much Niki! God Bless!
I've wanted to make a family recipe book for a long time, but didn't know how to go about it. This is such a great idea! And so cute!
I am glad I found this again. Awesome
I just loved this book. I can already see me making one. Already know I would seen it too. Just ran over this glad I did.
I love this recipe book. I have a huge collection of recipes and I might give this a go.
You can cut back on the wander from the envelopes if you adhere them together in sets, start with just two, adhere them together, then adhere two to two, four to four and so on until they're all together.
Also, I think the straight piece in your die set is another rolling pin, like the kind you'd use for fondant, without handles.
What a wonderful idea. Now I know what my Cooking Cousin Kathy is getting for Christmas. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Absolutely adorrrrrable!!!
This was an awesome idea and I love your finished project! I never would have thought to use the bread tabs and tea bag tags!
That is BEAUTIFUL!!!
it is a lovable recipe book. Love the idea.

Such a great talent anxious to try from Mexico Maine!!
Lots of wonderful ideas!!!
Sooooo clever!!! I love your use of things like tea bag tags! Great job!!
Love and Light
Vivian
Hi this a really great idea! But you maybe should have glued or painters taped the pages on the edges before you started cutting. Just an idea!
What a great idea! Angela you did such an awesome job on this recipe journal. Thanks for the inspiration!
Omgosh! This is fabulous!! I love it! I really would love to make one! Would be such an amazing gift for someone as well! thank you so much for sharing and doing the tutorial!
hugs
Rachel
Love the idea, and love seeing the Old Maid card in your book! A new project awaits! 😁
The die cut is a rolling pin, they're both rolling pins of different kinds, I've seen them use it when they made pizza and such.
Hi Angela, What super cool idea, Love how it came out, Nice place to hide your pretty party fund too, I might have to have a go, tfs Hugs Rosemary :-)

I totally love this!!!
that is totally awesome, love the stamps you used, you are so talented!
This is fabulous! What a clever idea. Tfs and inspiring.
Angela, I love this idea. I have just a ton of old Readers Digest hardcover books that we used to collect; well, my husband thought I really wanted them. I used to read a lot when I was home with the little ones. Now I'm home with just my husband and me and right now a grand cat. I have begun tearing up one book to use for journaling pieces, but I've thought if I tear out a few pages at a time they might work as small scale art journals. So anyway, I love all of your decorations and embellishments. You did a great job of making a box in a book, something quite unexpected these days. I will certainly subscribe and follow. Good Job!
Yep!
ADORBS! So love! Thank you so much for the ideas! My creative juices are flowing! Lol
I love making the junk recipe books...enjoyed your video!

Awesome Recipe Book!!
This is a great idea. TFS
Great project. Love it.
that is so awesome, love it to bits
I think the stick is suppose to be the end of a spatula.. you can put it in the blender.
I love this thank you for sharing how you made it , I look forward to having a go xx
OMG this is beyond any words i could use to describe it! It's amazing and now I want one, and I barely cook anymore, lol... Loved watching the process. What paper line did you use for this, it's so, so cute? Love your work, TFS ~ leslie
Love this so many ideas for this concept. I plan to make one to keep my business expense receipts in. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Angela for the information.
Job well done...Excellent... Thanks....

This just give me goosebumps it's so cut! LOVE it! Sandy
i love this, i am going to do this for my favorite recipes, and some of my mom's and i think i will make a couple more for gifts. perfect.
The answer to your question about the kitchen aid is seen in an image on the cover of your journal. This mixer has a tradicional stripe, I believe in silver, that goes along the main body of the machine.
***** Angela, I know exactly how that feels, especially with some stamp sets. The reason I knew the answer is because I'm a kitchen gadget stamp and die addict! lol
Very cute idea.
really love your idea... i will also try this...thanku
This is awesome, just love it!
