The sad part of Jiraiya death is he thought about all of his life, he failed. He failed in love with Tsunade, he failed stopping his friends Orochimaru, all of his life his spend on journey to find his destiny of teaching his disciple to make good change in the world only to find out they're dead and then later found out they become Akatsuki and if he died he want to died honorably like the 4th and 3th hokage. But no he died alone where no one know he died. All his life what is he achieved? That's the story of Jiraiya the gallant.
But then he remembered naruto. and Naruto is the one that's gonna fulfill the prophecy, he certain of that he fulfilled his destiny, role in the prophecy. and now he can let the rest to Naruto.
He "failed" for Naruto to succeed

The prophecy stated that Jiraiya would travel the world. By traveling he just happened to run in to all of these different people. Whatever he found out at the end, it was literally something only he could’ve realized. His death never fails to bring me to tears. A true master. A true ninja. A true perv. And here we see one of the biggest PLOT HOLES in the story.
Naruto anime has many of them and here is just one big one.
Jiraiya would actually had lived if the writing would be correct based on the naruto universe own rules that have been established by the writer before
1) from episode 55 title WIND :
We learned that Shadow clones can learn information and once they are dismissed or destroyed, any information they learn goes back to the original
2) We have learned that shadow clones were used to get intel from dangerous places
3) So why did Jiraiya not do a shadow clone, going out and learned that information, and if the clone is attacked, it simply will disappear and that's it , but Jiraiya would be safe and has escaped with his life and the intel
NOW some will say,
he could not do a clone because he had ONE ARM. True he has one arm, but we have seen ninjas before doing jutsu with one arm and moreover shadow clone does not require complicated hand signs..it's just one sign. Also Jiraiya is a hokage level ninja. Stronger than kakashi and any of the 3 sannin. Doing a simple jutsu with one arm is easy.
More over he did madi shadow clones when fighting Pains animal path. REMEMBER? He had his hands closed, but he constantly fooled pain with shadow clones.
So even if he could not do jutsu with one arm he could have used Fukasaku ( on his shoulder ) his hand to help him to do the jutsu. This is also something we have seen, people using other peoples hands doing jutsu. In this case a frog but it has hands.
So the show writer wrote himself into a PLOT HOLE.

Its just crazy to think how creators like kishimoto is able to bring the emotional feeling of us real people towards an anime characters. Hats off to them.
The emotion you can't just stop. It just comes in its own. And how are we able to feel the pain and deep regret of that character is just the masterpiece of creators.

Took on one of the most powerful ninja to exist without intel. Took down 4 Pains. Got his arm ripped off (took out one of the 4 after losing an arm). Stabbed (understatement) with Pain’s shards beyond count. Throat crushed. Past his prime. And STILL got up to write that code.

This is when the power scaling of Naruto starts to shoot through the roof. A lot of happy tears and sad tears to come.
Now they know the pain. Unfortunately Jiraiya could not make clones with one hand, the moment he lost his arm he could no longer perform ninjutsu except for the rasengan.

There's no single way to react to anything. If your reaction is you bursting out laughing, that's fine. Just like you just watching in awe, silence, and or sadness is also fine. I'd much rather watch someone genuinely reacting to something EXACTLY how they feel. sometimes it can feel like some reactors are overdoing it like slamming their hands on the desk or jumping up and down, running around, etc. or literally freaking out at every single frame in succession, but ya'lls reactions feel true to how you appear to be feeling in the moment and I appreciate that as a viewer.

This arc showed us how strong Jiraiya was. But Pain with those eyes was on another level that even the strongest hidden leaf man seemed so weak here. It was hard battle, even in the brink of dead he managed to collect such important intel abt Pain. No one ever manage to do that far except Him.
As someone who has been a fan for a little over a year or two now and as a 21 year old that has struggled with his mental health his entire life I just wanna say thank you guys for starting the video how you did and thank you guys for addressing the issue that is mental health. I’ve struggled with self harming addiction and extreme suicidal thoughts ever since I was a child and my body is covered in the scars to prove it. I only recently checked myself into a mental hospital because a group of friends took me there because they were scared I was going to kill myself. They saved my life that night. I’ve attempted suicide over a dozen times throughout my life. Many times I’d wake back up in the morning just to process that I tried and failed then get myself ready for school or work and pretend it didn’t happen..
if anyone who is struggling has read this far, I am a survivor who has been surviving his own mind as long as he has known how to speak and think. You are a survivor too no matter how long you have been fighting. Do NOT become another number on that fucking list, You are not alone, there are so many people just as sick as us as well as so much worse and we all process the same things in different ways which just makes it even harder to understand eachother. But people like us are trying to recover from something, or trying to discover something in or about life/ourselves. And the only way we can do any of those things is if we continue to survive. I know you want to stop, believe me I do not want to fucking keep going. But we have to. I have to, you have to. Dying will only hurt everyone we love and disappoint those of us who were not able to survive any longer.

Naruto fought these pain in open spaces , he can't sync with Ma and Pa .. Jiraiya's Sage Mode basically unlimited because he had them on his shoulder , Naruto's Sage mode ran out after 2 Rasenshuriken

I totally relate! I need a bit to process my emotions and usually don't cry until later when I'm alone. That's why I actually prefer to watch sad parts of anime alone even with someone I'm close to dating or friends/family I just can't experience the full range unless I'm by myself
Midway through episode 500 was the only time I shed tears for this show but this episode came pretty close as well as a couple of others.
The first time i watched the episodes on Jiraiya's death ( it was like ten years ago ), i cried. Today, after all those years, having the opprtunity to share this moment with you guys almost made me cry ( precisely when i saw Rice and Ginger cry. I don't how, but i could feel their Pain).
I can see Ron like those men who looks tough outside but has a soft spot inside for this kind of show 😊 He's a nice guy I can tell, keep it up Brother 👊😄

Pain is the name of the Orange hairs group, and all of them controlled by Nagato.
Each of them/Pain had meeting Jiraya in his past and also they all have the same Goal. Looking for peace.
Each of Pain has different abilities that possessed by the original abilities of each vessels.
Pain's Goal is to create "Peace" using Ten Tails that's why they/Akatsuki collecting all the Nine Tails to create the Ten Tails.
Pain/Akatsuki using Ten Tails bomb/Bijudama to destroy the 5 big Villages so that they create such a fear to every Villages whom trying to star battling/war because they would get bombing again and it's really hard to defeat the Ten Tails + Akatsuki of course, kinda impossible i said.

I had no words when I first watched this scene as a teenager way back in the day. Just tears 😭
I was a teen in high school when I watched these episodes, at that time the anime was still going on. I ugly cried in the dark of my room watching this episode. I remember I couldn’t continue watching for a while cus of how much it made me cry. Knowing Jiraiya was not perfect but was still an amazing teacher to everyone he met or fought. He wasn’t a failure in my eyes. Definitely the strongest and the one who withstood so much pain and rejection. RIP Pervy Sage you made me laugh and you made me cry. I need to learn more from you.

I've always loved Jiraya. I love that, not to mention the fact that he's like Naruto's grandfather, being the reason Naruto is called Naruto, teaching him, protecting him. Jiraya is like an agent of fate, being the main piece for the completion of the prophecy puzzle. He's seen as silly, but he died a fucking hero, ‘just’ to convey S-level information. The average person just pays attention to the front line, but we literally have guardian ‘angels’ protecting us in the shadows. 🫡 🙏

Greetings from Poland! I remember watching this anime when it came out. Jiraji's death was one of the sadder scenes in it. Even now, at 34, a tear rolls down my cheek.

This anime set such an indescribably huge bar that other works to it is simply impossible to reach. The musical accompaniment and detailed characterization, it all resonates within you as you watch it. I'm very glad that I watched it as a child and I'm reviewing it with you now, and it still gives me lasting emotions. Keep watching and marvel at how this anime was ahead of its time for decades, that even the newer pretty high quality anime still can't reach these heights.🙋🏻♂️

those bodies of Pain was just some kind of prophecies related to Jiraiya. It just coincidence encounter in his journey but it all back to the prophecy tied to him.

As someone who has read naruto and watched the show like 5 times, here’s my guess ig at why those people were chosen as pain’s “puppets”
Its not that jiraiya fought them and THATS why they were chosen as puppets, it just happend to be the case that jiraiya fought them on his journey because of the prophecy and journey he was given to take.
Pain just chose those shinobi randomly and they just happend to have fought jiraiya on his journey.
Some people may say pain chose them because of the shock factor it gave, but there’s no evidence that pain knew of the battles that jiraiya had with those shinobi.
