Man just found this guide. Exactly what I needed. I am a pretty visual person so this is very helpful for me, much more helpful than guides with commentary. Like many people have said before, a picture paints a thousand words. I support you on patreon as the lowest level for now, I hope I can give more later. Keep up the good work! :)
Your guide format is probably the best I've ever seen for FF14 guides. Really great for sending to my friends when I want to teach them a fight. Thanks a lot.
joon, you've done it again. My FC has been wanting to do this trial for awhile, but it was hard finding a way to teach them in a way that they could easily understand. But I'm pretty damn sure that they'll be more than capable of doing it with this guide you made! You're the best! \o/
I was being the big dumb and wasnt registering the wind aoe and fire aoe and over complicating it to such a degree. Seeing it here visually can now associate with green in, red out. When that should have been like my main thing to do to associate with color. (To be fair i thought it mixes up on the later phases but i was so busy worrying about other things i just kinda paniced a few times to not register that bit remains the same.) Thanks for this. Although i got the clear last night this will make it easier going forward.

@@rithli Are you going to be covering multiple LR strats (like you did with E5S CL), since LR seems to be the stickiest point? On Crystal it's about 80% Ilya, though Ayatori is starting to become popular.
@@michaelknudson1164 In an ideal scenario I'd like to include the u]time Xeno bowtie strat along with Ilya. But like you said, Ilya is the most dominant one at the moment. It's also very difficult in Primal to get non-Ilya parties to fill, so it'd be tough to even get footage haha. So I think it makes the most sense to just show Ilya for the masses. Maybe in the future I'll make a separate diagram for the bowtie one.
@@rithli That's fair, I was mostly just curious how you were going to pick from the menu of options PF has for E8S and fit it all into one video. Seems there's multiple strats for nearly every mechanic, though the dominant ones for Crystal seem to be Ilya and KB mirrors (groups based on true north positions). I think of the fights this tier, E8S sorely needs a pickup guide and I'm sure you'll do an awesome job. I don't envy the task of trying to make it though. :)
Your video guides work far better for me than the others who just talk away and fill the screen with text, not to say they are bad, but I'm more of a visual guy, than to read & remember walls of text + listening to everything they are saying, while also filtering out what is worth remembering, and what isn't. Yours show clear visuals that I can take in far easier, than words and text ever could help me take in.

Great guides keep it up ..... I love watching your guides they are really helpful Are you planning to make Job guides in the future ? explaining the actions, openers and rotations
He does have a Chain Lightning strat video. We recommend clock strat because if someone is dead you can recover easily. Also, it's very little movement and you can force the melees/tanks to move for the casters.
For this particular fight, I'm not sure why every learning party I join wants to type out all of Varis's mechanics for 15 mins, generating 20 paragraphs of text before we do the first pull. It's not helpful to anybody and people mess up the mechanics brutally. This video tho is great.
Yeah same here pretty much. Sometimes even early as the Ventus+Alea. But thanks to that group, I can show off that an enrage does exist. 😂 You bet your ass I was thinking "lmao, there's an enrage???"
I'm not sure My Bad deserves special thanks when only Fang helped you. Only you, Lyrina, and Okonkwo have cleared the fight. But! Since very few of us have even seen the fight we can test your video on Wednesday assuming we clear 8s on tuesday.
4:55 i believe the animation here for the 8 players are wrong? it appears that we shld move to the same direction as the arrows. im not sure. can you clarify?
The way the cones work for Fortius is that, the shape of 8 cones snap into the position of players (on the first hit that drops the puddles) and then rotate in that same snapped shape for the duration of mechanic. If you drop your cones in standard clock spots, the amount of room you have dodge into the next cone will be pretty much the same as the previous Fortius, regardless of the spin direction. All you're trying to do is scoot into where the previous cone blast happened because that spot will be open/safe. Therefore the spin + dodge direction doesn't really matter all that much with this method. I hope that makes sense!
Thank you! It is a bit late, for sure. Though, there's plenty of people that still haven't done this fight yet and people that wanna do relics need do this first step for tokens until the next step in 5.3, so it definitely didn't hurt to make an up-to-date guide. 😀
