68 YEAR OLD RACER CRASHES AFTER BREAKING HARLEY WORLD RECORD!

- 68 Year old Andy Simon made motorcycle drag racing history when he became the first Harley Bagger drag racer to reach the 7 second zone on his 45-degree, FLH frame V-twin at round No. 3 of Hogs Gone Wild at Pittsburgh Raceway Park. As we see in the video this drag bike racer pays the price with a crash and fail into the sandpit after the Harley Davidson world record. Fortunately Simon round he ok. We head back into the pits to get a full tour of his Harley race engine, clutch, exhaust and a lot more. Enjoy and share.

@@cycledrag I wish I could, but there is no drag racing in my country whatsoever! I mean NO dragstrip! The nearest one is Santa Pod, and it's 500 miles away, but hey Jack, what I want to see is you on your KZ hitting the strip, come on, it's well overdue ? ? ?

🏁Andy built two bikes for me with frame modifications and motors... he's a mad scientist always testing, always trying different combinations and ALWAYS accused of cheating by his opponents...He was the King of Bucks County! I'm glad he's still winning and grinning🏁
Seeing a single disc brake on the front end of that beast is CRINGEWORTHY
The sport bikes can get away with it because they're light, feel like these big vtwin bikes need to run both.

Amazing. Ain't it great to see a father and son meet that challenge? People should understand how much work it takes to just get to the challenge. It takes so much more to meet it and succeed. Congratulations.
This video right here is what keeps me coming back to watch the videos on this channel.

I’m 60 years old. Sometime in the mid ‘70’s my late brother and I saw Evel Knievel jump a bunch of busses at Great Lakes Dragway Union Grove Wisconsin. Evel had his big rig parked for public viewing and my little brother climbed up on the tractor and tried to open the drivers door to peek inside our hero’s cool truck. The alarms started blaring...it didn’t end well. 😉

@@cycledrag I've shared that video with over 700 people already along with your channel. Keep up the great work. I have a lot of memories from races even back to the old school hill climbs in Michigan when an older gentleman used to race his Harley XR-750 and then another gentleman raced his XR-1000 up the hill with the extended swing arms and all in the beard hills area of Michigan. The other stories I'd have to get back to you on.

@@grimeyhonkyracing3938 funny, my mom so wanted me to stop riding and settle down and start a family. mom is gone now but you know i got more damage trying to start a family than from any rusty motorcycle, from two failed marriages, 30 years paying child support. I never broke a bone riding or even had to go to the emergency room. thankgod at 72 years old, i still have a 67 harley sportster, a 75 bmw r-60/6, and (don't pitty me please) a 1975 Dnepr motorcycle/sidecar. it has a reverse, when ever you can get it to start and run. And as i always was taught, friends don't let friends drive hondas, and helmet laws do suck. Live fast die young but leave a beautiful corpse. My life's creed.
Witness me!!! I live I die I live again.
Very good video.
What are the human limitations to motorcycling ? I am 61 and this is real inspiration to all of us above 60 years of age. Unbelievable feat.
When you are born with a harley gene, age just doesn't matter! I am 76yrs old and have been
Riding harleys for 64yrs,
And i dont plan on quiting anytime soon!
This video missed EVERYTHING!
I'm 74 and I still race my 99 bag of Road King. I sure wish I could get in the 7s I run 1 / 8 mile track and when I run quarter mile Med 9 f I'm still running the 5- speed I got my geared up 4 1 / 8 miles but it's still fun. In the late sixties I was flat track racing! Flathead 45 finally got some prize money and went to Triumph Tiger 500 single- curb like Gary Nixon and he was a friend and greatly missed. I went to drag racing in 72 with a Kawasaki 750 H2 the blue Beast. Made my own swingarm and wheelie bars that was hard to catch. That motorcycle was meant to go straight try to ride on the road you couldn't turn it. I would sure love to find another one but very hard to find as you all know. Throughout old age it's not always winning it's doing it. I'm in between Florida and Michigan and I would love to come down and race my 99 at one of your meets. I'm new to your site and it seems like I don't get the current updates on your scheduling. Can you give me any advice to find out where you're at and dates. And 1/8 mile track. The A2 Flash
The first bike I ever bought and raced was a Blue 72 H2 🏁👍
