Dude, you're living the dream 🙌
A BEAUTIFUL wife, and she supports you're career, and doing what you love ❤️
Who could ask for more?!!!!
22:50 BiG Rat 😮😮😮
The first trip back to the hotel Richard looks like he's being held hostage. Blink three times if you're being held against your will.
Imagine how beautiful this car would be after a full restoration !! WOW !! What a sight that would be !!!!!
Exactly.
Wife all of a sudden started coming into the videos lol that’s pretty kool
Hoped by presence would help the channel grow faster. Thanks for watching! We appreciate you 🙏
Those were very cool cars. Glad to see a survivor brought back to life.
Thanks. The styling is fantastic.
What an excellent candidate for restoration, given the condition of the body, and a 2 door hardtop no less! The FE series Ford engines are very common still, and hard to kill by mere neglect. Almost as dependable as an anvil. I've had several of the 390s and even a 428 version, and they can be mild to wild, depending on what you want.
Starters by the way, are made to kick out when the flywheel suddenly picks up, so as not to burn up the starter. It just spins up like that if you are a bit slow in taking your hand off the switch. Sounds great to me!
That is definitely a keeper and it should be parked in an enclosed garage with concrete floor instead of a outside shed style building. I can see red paint peeking out from under that white and I'll bet that vehicle was originally red. This is a car that is well worth a thorough restoration. I am not a Ford guy but this Mercury is a well designed vehicle and it is so complete.
I have a '63 Monterey, this guy has a lot to look forward to if he gets it driving. I revived a Monterey 4 door, 390 with the Merc o matic. Same color as this one, but the Breezeway roofline, it had been sitting 10 years, but it was an incredible survivor with a near perfect interior and exterior not far off either. Got it running, got it driving, At this point i've redone all the major driving systems, plus I even got the factory AC going again. And it drives so damn smooth, goes over bumps like glass. I've put 2,000 miles on it now with no major issues. A real pleasure to drive, he's got a lot to look forward to.
That is great to hear. The Breezeway Mercs are so unique. Thank you for saving it.
That owner was pretty excited, glad you were able to get that beauty going.
Now it will sit there until 2055, and be backed up to the porch ,until 2100, great job getting that thing running.
For sitting all those years, the engine sounded good... that needs to be back on the road !
what sweet lady . getting rare now . a hot car great job mates
Thanks Brett!
Two things I enjoy in life:
1. Sleeping til around noon.
2. Waking up around noon and seeing your latest vid in my feed. 😁
Sly you're awsome!
You have the best comments David.
@@whattherust Hey, I just finished work and watched the rest of your video during my commute home.😏 I’m glad you finally got out of the sack and got the old girl running! Also happy that you two are having fun with this. You really need to put a little sticker on each car that you revive. One that reads something like, “Another Fine Automobile Saved By W.T. Rust.” Lol
@@SlyDellian That is a great idea.
another good job marauder was a cool car and i am liking the new name is that a 352 engine
Right, it is a great name for a fast car! That engine is a 390 FE.
@@whattherust was thinking 390 if it wasnt 352
Catching up im new... this car is a one of a kind. This is no luxury car, it was Mercury's foray into the performance market, i mean the 390 was the base engine. The owner has an incredible car. What a team you two make in these videos. Im glad UA-cam led me to your channel. Yours and TheeTravisb in the same month. Im truly blessed! Take care.
Thanks Ross!
Hey, nice going, Richard. Wow!
Thank you Noam!
Great episode, thanks! That trunk lid is ridiculous! - but I guess useful for table tennis...
Right, or dinner for four!
Richard and Christine...that was great
Thank you Richard!
Very beautiful car.
Fairly rare car you got there. 👍
Reminds me of an old car I saw in a garage once it was a mercury comment, two door lot of Chrome and very nice .....
Really enjoyed this one. Hope the owner sends you some pictures of it once it is restored.
Thanks John. I will keep track of it.
Great job Robert the car has great patina
Great job guys
Thank you for the support Harold.
Very satisfying video!!
Thanks Todd!
@@whattherust you're welcome

Thank you Alfredo!
Hi y’all from west Alabama
Me too Tuscaloosa ✋️
Fantastic work and video, I hope to see more 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Thanks! More coming!
I like how the lovely wife refers to the car as a her and she . “Marauder” has definitely found a good home 👍
Wow! That car is alot bigger than I thought. Love how thick the doors were back then. I'm sure after it started, that squirrel (or whatever it was) left real quick. Lol. So nice of the owner to leave you snacks and drinks. That's a first. Ya don't see alot of Marauders. I'd buy new tires, fix any lights, and drive it just as is. Beautiful
I agree she's beautiful as is!
It lives. Yes. Great job. Good luck.
Thanks David!
I am hoping after all the work that was put into getting this classic running that the owner will finish repairing it and put it back on the road and not just shove it back under that shed to rot away like many people do.
Hi Richard. I think he will have the car back on the road by the springtime.
Good Job NICE clean Car Some maintenance and repair well be in the road 🛣️👍👍👍
That car is so solid and rare a true barn find.. Nice job getting her running .. Lot's of deposits on the valves needs run with a fuel system cleaner or something. anyway great content simply awesome and can't wait till the next video.
Thanks for the support Jeff!
Wow she is beautiful and great job getting her running again
Thanks! This is a beautiful car.
Happy to see your wife be more involved.. She did a great job.. keep it up..
Thanks! She is special.
Very special, You are certainly bleesed to have a wife that has the same interest and dedication as you do. Her partisipation visually and vocally adds to the video. Richard thanks for your desire the get out and get the oldies running again. @@whattherust

One my favorite show to date
Thanks Hermen!
Hey What the Rust. What a great way to start your video. Two beauties in front of the camera. That is cool that you got the engine to turn over. And then even more surprised when it started and moved. What a great find. This was a great video. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍
Thank you Andy! Good to hear from you.
SAME EXACT CAR ==MINE WAS BLUE I DID INSTALL A HEADLINER=RAN IT FOR 2 YEARS BEFORE THE TRADE==I HAD RESCUED A LOT OF OLD VEHICLES==I AM 84 YEARS OLD NOW==LOVED IT FOR MANY YEARS=EX STOCK CAR MAN==GOOD JOB'''

Thank you Kevin!
i had a 1961 mercury marauder wagon. loved that car
I liken that car to Christy Brinkley, same age but still so beautiful. Fab video guys
Thansk Brian!
I am having seizures with my tongue hanging out waiting for the next video. They are that good!!!
Thank you for the nice comment Steven.
Nice car I have one and finally got it started so happy for the owner
Awesome video I hope they restore it and paint it red again awesome car
Thanks! It would look amazing in red.
You are very talented mechanic to get all those cars running.
Thank you Andrew.
When I used to resurect musclecars in the 90s, a friend and I both got black widow sickness from a carport like that. I felt like crap for days and he needed a blood filter pump for weeks! Bug bomb those places first!
You make a great team, beautiful ladies bring good luck for sure😉
And this car was worthy of your efforts🙄
Thank you!
Wow! What a piece of art this vehicle is. Loving it!
Yes, it is a beautiful car. The designers must have been proud.
My dad had a 63 Monterey, great video👍🤗
Thanks!
Love those 60s Ford, Lincoln, Mercury interiors!
Had one back in the day just before I left for USMC.
Loved the dash layout, the swivel seat and the 390 was the perfect engine for that car. Mine was a rag top. Burgundy tan guts.
Beautiful - loved it.
My local merc dealer had a 63 marauder in bittersweet i think it was the best! looking merc ever made
The style of these are hard to beat.
Good show! Christina Rocks!
Thanks Graem!
Those metal panels on the back wheels are called “fender skirts”. I had some on my 59 Caddy.
Working on cars in sheds has been really difficult for you guys!
Right, but at least the bugs stayed out of there!
That is a huge plus, and the interior wasn't such a mouse feast, either!
Hi Christna and Richard! Greetings from Iowa!
Thanks for the support!
Awesome job, Mr.! Congrats! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
👍 that was truly great content. Had a 63 that looked alot like that but the rear window went up and down. I believe it was like 72 or 73 I had it. 🙏 Thanks for sharing.
Be safe & pull it out at least half way to protect yourselves from the building
Another outstanding video!
I surely look forward to these.
Y’all keep bringing those dead ones back to life! 😊👍👍
Thank you Dan!
Its nice to see a talented individual who cares about people. Great job on your content.
Thank you
Man, I wish I could like this video 10 times. You’ve been a man on a mission as of late. And I’m a sucker for old Fords, so this one really got my interest. No need for this gentleman to restore the car, just get a gas tank, fix the brakes and drive it! 👍🏻
Totally agree! Start driving and worry about the paint later.
Great vacation video. I have a certain fondness for the mighty FE big block, having swapped a 390 into my 59 Ford Galaxie. Like the Marauder, it had gorgeous stainless-steel skirts. That Merc will be awesome spiffied up and put back on the road.
I love FEs. Every time I work on one I am pleased with how simple and reliable they are.
good job for a great cause congratulations to both of you god bless you
Thank you Jesus!
A little time spent sitting at the front and back bumpers and some triple aught steel wool and the owner would definitely notice the difference in the look of the bumpers. If it were mine I'd fix any rust throughs and the surface rust on the body of the car, and then have it repainted the original color of Corinthian White, add finding the original hubcaps and a new set of white wall tires and you'd have a Beautiful almost original Mercury Marauder. Nuff Said. Yall did a wonderful job getting that 390 unstuck and running and actually idling. I now have another decent channel to watch. I appreciate the lack of cursing that some other channels have on them.
Thanks Michael.
Hard work, country roads, muscle cars, all that is good about America...
Right on Kevin.
It’s so rad that you both work together to get these vehicles running. That’s love right there
Right on.
Nice work - The owner was so appreciative too and a lovely man to leave snack hampers -- good subtitles too - thanks for sharing
You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
A real classic, what a beauty, love to see it restored
Now that car I wouldn't mind having. I had one just like it years ago and it ran good, but the transmission was screwed up.
Have a great day.😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Awesome video, another car in a tiny shed.Going to be nice when he gets it back on the road.
Thank you Jason!
Great video Richard & Christina. My fave channel Chris from Cornwall UK
That is a nice comment Chris. Thank you. Sorry to hear about the Queen.
Sneaky mouse running across the engine 🐀 😄 Another success story!! 🙌 So amazing to get this Marauder back up and running. Congratulations Richard and Christina for getting the job done! Looking forward to the next one! 🙂
Thank you David! We didn't see the rat until we were editing the video later. What a surprise! Amazing how clean the rat house was compared to mice.
l saw a mouse in the engine running down the engine
23,01 hhhhhhhh
That's one cool car it would be a great drive on the hwy cheers...
It sure would.
Great save! And awesome barnfind/ will it run! ✌️

It's brilliant for you to be on this trip. I so look forward to your video's. As a team, you guys are amazing. And, and here are 2 gr8 teachers...
Thanks so much!
Thank you Philip!
I like the new format with you both taking part in the adventures and working as a team. Those Marauders were great cars back in the day. I always thought they had great styling. Great video!
Thanks so much!
Great job on that Mercury.I always liked that body style.
Thanks Neil!
That is one beaut of a car, and it didn't fight too hard. Straight enough to warrant a paint job. Well done, folks. 👍
Thanks Bill. This is a beautiful car. A lot of people put a lot of time into designing it.
Great filming ! Thanks , just caught it in time there , can't wait for the next episode. !
Thanks Steve. More to come.
You have obviously made the owner a happy man I just hope he follows through with his plans and takes the next step. Take care.
Thank you! I think the owner will definitely follow through.
G,day christina and richard great job in such a tight spot love the new format cheers guys....
Thank you for the feedback Ray!
Awsome car!!!
I'm 66 now, gotten my driving licence at 18, my very first ride was à 65 Ford fairlane with à K9 289ci 4 bar. carb aut trany posi-traction , two years later traded it fore a 64 Meteor convertible with à 352 ci, sold it cause this guy was crazy for it so, he offered $$ I could'nt refuse, my third ride was a 62 chevy wagon 11 seater With a 283ci 4 bar. carb. powerglide trany,
Man, driving those cars was so much fun, specialy my K9 289ci, if I knew what I know now back in the days, I would've kept that Failane!
Love that Merk, great vidéo! Cheer's from 🇨🇦
Thank you Roger. I agree, just driving the old cars is fun. That is missing from many cars made today.
Young lady. Buy avons skin so soft. Works perfect I lived and worked in. Sc. Also went to Parris Island. In 1971. Bug from hell there. Cheap I keep it always. Smells great. Helps your skin. Great old car. Thanks from my hill top in. Sc.
You're welcome Allen!
I like your channel I started watching when u did the 3 old fords
Awesome rescue guys.....
So glad to see these old pieces of American automotive history brought back to life. Never again will there be cars and trucks built that possessed the style of these vintage rides. It is truly a piece of art.
Totally agree.
P😊
Hi from Scotland. Good job guys…in a confined space !
That’s a nice looking car, and it was nice to see the dust blown off it at the end. It sounded very good considering it had been lying for that amount of time.
Good teamwork there, and a nice touch by the owner to leave out some snacks and water.
Another excellent video from both of you, so onward to the next one.
Regards
John
Haud yer wheesht!!!!
Just kidding.
Thanks John!
Need some very patient in this narrow place good luck
10/10 What a brilliant result Richard and Christina, car was lucky to have been undercover and, as you said, was straight as a die. I never cease to be amazed at how filthy and neglected vehicles come back to life and (usually) clean up so well. Onto the next one.
Thank you John! More to come.
Such a beautiful car, I hope the owner does an update later on after he's fixed her up, till next time my Friends
Right, I'll keep you all posted on progress on my Facebook page.
my dad had a 63 montery with the 390 3 on the tree. loved those year's of mecury's and their roll down back window's. lol
Yes, great cars.
