- This is a real time video going through the process of creating a mixed media project in my Winsor and Newton mixed media sketch pad. I use the Woody 3 in 1 pencils from Stabilo as these are a product I have had for a while but not used!!!
Using the pencils as a base I go through my process of adding other mediums and stencilling to create my final layout.
I will list the products used below. I will mostly not provide links as I think it is best for you to search your own local suppliers and online stores to get the best up to date prices and delivery for your own area. If I do provide links none of these are affiliated, I do not receive anything for them.
Products used:
Winsor & Newton Mixed Media Pad
Scotch Blue Tape
Stabilo Woodys 3 in 1 Pencils
Memory Box Stencil - Mesh
The other stencils used were ones that I cut myself, the basic shapes were created with dies, the others were hand cut by me using my own designs
Acrylic Paint: Dylusions, Dina Wakley and HobbyCraft
Copic Acrea Paint Markers - Essentials Set
Lemon Creation Sentiments: shop.lemoncrea...

Hi all! Come on then confession time, what product do you have in your stash that you haven’t used? X
Oil pastels
@kristiofca1 I think oil pastels seem to be the product that a lot of people buy but put away, I think it is the fixing them that puts me off x
Multumesc frumos ☺️💓🌸🌸💮🌺🌷🌺💮🌺🌷🌷🌷🌸🌸🌸🌈
Thank you ❤️
I confess! I have the 18 box of woodies languishing in the bottom of my cupboard!! Most expensive kids crayons I’ve ever bought 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 at least I am not alone xx
Never a failure, always a lesson. I needed to hear this today. Thank you for sharing your process.
So glad it was helpful ❤️
Thank you for going over these in detail. I do not have these Woodys, but I cannot justify their price. I have Neocolor II's which do pretty much the same thing.
You are welcome! To be honest if I went back in time I would just stick with the Neocolor II as well x
Thank you for encouraging me to use my woodies. Excellent video
Thank you ❤️
I have used these in my card classes for the past year. They last really long time , I scribble onto a pallet and then water down as water colour , Love this product , 😊
That's a good idea! I have a board that I do that with my neocolors will definitely give that a try with these now xx
I have most of a set of 60 I was given 30 years ago - they are fabulous. Apart from using as watercolour pencils they can be used with a brush directly from the pencil and then you can dip the pencils in water and the effect is of a brush on paper. The colours are intense and keep their vibrancy after 30 years.
Oh wow! That is great info to know thank you ❤️
Thank you for this video. I purchased my stabilo’s for the same reason you purchased yours. I know I tried them when I first bought them, but I don’t use them and I never think about using them. Also, something you might find helpful is that when Dina seems to run out of her paint, she will cut the top off the bottle and quite a bit of paint remains inside.
Thank you ❤️ I am going to make an effort to use them lots more now! Great tip, am going to give that a go with the paint x
This piece is beautiful. Love it thank you 😊
Thank you ❤️
I love the way this turned out.
@@night4001 thank you ❤️
Just found you 🎉 so thrilled . I’ve liked subbed and shared with my arty cousin. So glad to be onboard . So excited to watch your videos x Lisa Uk 👏🏼😍👏🏼
Thank you so much ❤️
Super and inspiring 😊
Thank you ❤️
I have some Woodys to use. I always think why should kids have all the fun? 🤣🤣🤣 I occasionally use them for mark-making. I am inspired as I could use this idea to make tags etc. (I encourage art in Junk Journals). Hazel, UK 😊😊😊💖💖💖
Thank you ❤️ They are definitely fun to use, lovely for mark making x
Love your art & technique ❣️❣️
Thank you ❤️
Really pretty art journal page. I enjoy my Woodies! UA-cam recommend your channel to me and I am so happy they did!
Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. ❤🖍🖌🎨
Thank you so much ❤️
Ha, I just used these today with my seven year-old grand nephew! We had fun but yours is much better looking! I’m going to try marking off smaller squares next time. Great idea; thanks!
Thank you ❤️ that is so lovely, and I can see how the size makes them really lovely for children, have fun x
Wonderful! I have not used my Woodys.
Thank you ❤️ I am definitely going to start using them more now x
This turned out beautiful ❤️ !!!!
Thank you ❤️
That's beautiful 🤗🌹
Thank you ❤️
Jane, this was much fun to watch. I enjoy the Woodies, and you definitely show off their power. They are actually the same as the Stabilo All pencils, so they're all quite powerful pigments. What product do I avoid? I've given away all but three of my Dylusions spray inks. And the three I kept, black, white and something else, I never use. I tend to do lots of layers, and I don't like the movable layers. I've got watercolors, too, but don't use those either. I will use the Neocolor II if I need to add just a little brush of extra colors. -- Barbara
Thank you ❤️ I could not get on with the dylusions sprays either, will definitely be using my woodies more now x
If anyone is considering buying the Woodies, but doesn't want to spend as much, Lidl has their own version of these in the Crelando brand that are sometimes available in the kid's art supplies.
Thank you ❤️
Hello from BC, Canada. Recently your channel popped up in my feed and I subscribed. I find your videos very inspiring. 😊
Thank you so much! ❤️
Liked and subbed ❤❤
Thank you so much ❤️

Thank you ❤️
I have neocolour 2 for years and have just started using them and loving them, I've just given into buying these, I bought the pastel 6 set the set with 2 colours in each pencil and a set with normal colours, I resisted for so long because of the price but love them and going to get the silver and gold although they come with black and white which I don't want
Ooh silver and gold sounds good! I really need to use my neocolor 2s more as well! Xx
Love this product have used for years put mine onto a pallet and use wet brush goes on just like water colour , great for my classes as I just scribble th3 colours they need ,
Oh I love my woodies. I use them like watercolour pencils all the time.
Now I have them more visible on my table I am definitely going to use them more xx
I'm not sure why you think woodies are for children. They are a versatile art tool. I love dipping them into water and then applying them to paper. This gives you velvety, juicy color. Have fun working them into your pieces.
Hi, they are marketed as a child’s art supply. Not to say at all that they can’t be used by other people, I certainly had fun with them x
awesome video. I'm going to try to recreate this using some water colours. Who is the author of the color palettes book? I was not able to find it. If there isn't an author, please give me the ISBN so that I can find it. 🙂
Thank you ❤️ I have just checked and the only name that looks possibly like an author is it says Sienna Colorstone but the isbn is 979-8338245682 hope that helps x
@@janeroyston This helped, thank you dear. I couldn't find the book in my public library, but it was online. 🙂
I thought they were water soluble oil pastels 😃
To be honest I am not sure what they are , they do have a slightly oily feel but act and feel a water soluble pencil xx
I have 72 oil pastels I’ve never used
I have just got some fixative for my oil pastels so am hoping to get more into adding them into my mixed media as that seems a bit less scary xx
I love oil pastels so so much! Hope you have good ones so you can have fun with them (if you have student grade oil pastels, please get sure that you don’t have the oil pastels from staedler, Jaxon or from Faber-Castell, they doesn’t perform like oil pastels or only in a bad way, but Jaxon is Okay for underlayers or single strokes when you don’t want to smear them to get a smooth texture).
Oil pastels are very versatile. You can use them with ‚ light or non pressure with their structured texture and you can smear them, so you have a smooth texture or you use different techniques like stippling or layering. You can work very well like an impressionist or very detailed and realistic. You can directly apply paint on paper, wood or other surfaces, what causes different textures. You can use your bare fingers, Estompe* or alternatively cotton swabs, gummy brushes, light sharp things like a thin stick, even a pallet knife and brushes! You can use dry brushes for texture or even soft brushes for painting. With turpentine or turpentine substitute you can painting like with oil paints.
I think, they’re are my favorite medium ♥️🥰
(*Estompe; maybe a different word in English, maybe fade (?), I mean the white paper sticks)
