- Yesterday we compared the book I Am Legend with the 2007 movie with Will Smith. Today I wanted to share some more thoughts on the 1971 adaptation, The Omega Man, and how all three versions of the book compare with the source material!

The Last Man on Earth (on youtube) got a lot of views during the pandemic/shutdown.
I also rewatched it alongside the mall cut of Dawn of the Dead, the latter because I re-considered the "unrealistic" denial depicted in the movie :D
In the first broadcast episode of "The Twilight Zone", called, "Where is everyone?", the character played by Earl Holiman finds himself in a town that has no people anywhere. When walking thru a drugstore he passes a book rack that has only copies of, "The Last Man on Earth", making him wonder if that's his fate.
RIP Vincent, Charleston and Rosalind 🙏🙏🙏
It's "Charlton!"
I think the 2007 one they just stopped giving a crap halfway production.
For me the VP version is the best, is also the one with the best horror components.
As far as the treadmill is concerned, I think there is good reason to run on a treadmill such as he did. The idea is that he's working out and tiring himself significantly. What would happen if he went on a ridiculously long run, that completely burned him out, only to realize that he's miles away from home and it's getting dark? 2nd potential reason could be, to try and drown out the noise of the zombie vampires at night, as opposed to huddling into his bathtub. That being said, I agree that Omega Man is the best.
yeah those are valid points...
I remember a dog in the book too, and he buried him and was devastated by the loss, as much as his child and wife. I read it years ago, and the first media I watched even before the book was Omega Man, so that’s my favorite too!
Yeah there is a dog in the book! It's a very sad scene
Great video. I liked all of them but yeah the omega man i liked the most
Glad you enjoyed it! I forgot to mention when we spoke that Omega Man is one of Tim Burtons favorite movies!
that totally makes sense!
I have seen all three films based on Richard Matheson's novel, "I am Legend!" And "The Omega Man" is still #1 to me!!
I don't remember which I say I like best in this video, but at this point I think of Omega Man as being my favorite!
