Their vocal range is limitless!
Stellar instrumentalists, as well, to accommodate all the "key" changes.
As a kid growing up in the 1950's and 1960's, woke up EVERY Sunday morning hearing "The Chuck Wagon Gang" and "The Happy Goodman Family".
Now I am getting OLD, and miss those days.
I could have lain in bed listening to CWG indefinitely; but the folks would roust me to get dressed for Sunday School!
O well ... thanks for recordings!
My Great Uncle Ol wrote this and about 1500 more. He also wrote , "Heaven Will Surely Be Worth It All". He was my Mother's Uncle from Cullman, Alabama! I never got to meet him. I wish I had his talent.
He must have spent a lot of time with God.
On how this brings back memories of my sweet mama who listened to their music when I was growing up in W Tenn in the 50s.
I will never ever ever know a more God based group in all this Earth than the Chuck wagon Gang. They don't sing for money or their self, they sang for God and I love them. I am 54 years old. today is September 29th 2019. I am blessed to have ever even got to hear one of their songs much less the many many songs that they have performed. God bless you all and I pray we all meet in heaven.

IDK much about the CWG but would assure you, they are a business that sells product and gets paid well for concerts. Yes the sing for money, and have done rather well.

When I was a kid they had the Chuck Wagon Hour on KRUN 1400 every Sunday. I loved listening to it. Also all the other great gospel music they played on Sunday.
Never have any of the Chuck Wagon Gang singers done a better job on this song.

Me and my wife have been to see Bob Seger 3 times! I had Running Against the Wind on the hood of my truck! Will always remember this amazing Entertainer from Ann Arbor Mi.
I believe this is the "New Chuck Wagon band" I recall listening to the original back in mid 50's. So certain the originals have passed on to glory. Beautiful song nonetheless. Very unique sound certainly

I saw the Chuck Wagon Gang in Shade Gap Pennsylvania in the summer of 1969 and I believe that Mylon LeFevre was the young man playing guitar with them!

Don't forget Shaye! Yoday, I'm still missing Penny. She has a quality and strength in her voice that no one can quite match.

It amazes me how intact they have kept the sound.
I agree with BingoBob the the group of Stan, Penny, Julie, and Dave have the best sound of all the groups that have sung as the CWG. Now that Shaye is back, she must be included in that group. They are wonderful and inspire me in a way that no other group ever could.
Surely you don't mean to say that they are better than the originals! For my ear, this grouping would be better if there was louder counter melody from Dave.

Once again, I can only reiterate: they're the best.Today, January 23, 2917, they no longer have Julie or Dave and they are sorely missed. The group is simply not the same without them. They're good, but not as good as they were.

This is way of worshiping God, not jumping and dancing, its from your feelings and not true worship...
I'm not saying you have to be pentecostal and running laps and being stupid...just act like you BELIEVE it! In other words, if you're happy, notify your face!
No you said about Jumping at the first place that why I go against that, jumping and dancing is not part of our service. true worship comes from heart. And yes if we are happy, we say, "Amen".
Singing at a funeral? What an insulting remark. Most folk listen to this in a reverent manner and don't be a distraction to those around them.

I wish Stan would sing the first line in the chorus as written, instead of going down to a lower note. He goes down to the 1 instead of the 5th. He needs to hear Brian Free sing this! (Not to mention his rudely waving the bass player away.)
The key is a bit low, nevertheless, it's good.
