I actually really enjoy the Tyrion chapters before Jorah captures him. I enjoy the worldbuilding and especially the conversations with Illyrio dissuading Tyrion from suicide by giving him purpose and the background on Varys, Illyrio, Serra, the implication the Blackfyre female line is continued, etc. I just think all of that should’ve just been condensed in the dinner scene and we skip over the slow travel with Illyrio. The adventures with the crew of The Shy Maid is great too. Meeting the Lady of the Waterfront in Volantis is obvious set up for later; it’s good stuff, but the pacing with Tyrion is off. George could’ve condensed much of it
Yeah I think if his second half arc was better paced and cut down a bit I would have Tyrion much high. I agree I do like a good amount of stuff in the first 6 chapters, but man after that it is rough for me
im tweaking rn i think daenerys in dance is AMAZING. also not having dany 10 in the top 30 is INSANE. in my opinion its a top 10 chapter of asoiaf overall
Yeah idk I really like Dany especially in other books, so I am definently not a Dany hater by any means. Like I said this book most of her chapters are just mixed for me. I am glad you enjoy her in the book!
[ I completely disagree with you about Quentin because Quinton is a way to explore Jaime and brienne through the tattered Prince and pretty Maris post five-year Gap closing ]
Grease is NOT a Quentyn Enjoyer.
The Greyjoy plot lines were amazing. Asha, Theon, and victarion chapters rock
I agree! Sucks they were left out of the show!
Grease generational beef with quentyn will never not be funny
Quentyn at 18. Yep, that checks out 😅

The Dorne plot made me stop reading for a week, and then I loved everything after
Victarion is the best Pov in Dance.
A bold take
@@TheGreaseGoblins As bold as when I said it years ago. Vic's genuinely my favorite character.
@@josephbulkin9222 I don't blame u he is incredibly fun to read

Wait what do you means Quentyn has literally no relevance to Jamie and Brienne
