    Thanks for the video. Followed it and it worked for me too... however I jacked up the extender. It wont lock into place... I had to stop though as I was having a nervous breakdown by the time I finished.

    Thank you so much! Great detailed video! I ordered the part and replaced just the steam pump and it worked again!! I found that I didn’t have to take the screws out of the adjustable length of the long handle rod to get to the pump. Clean floors again! Thanks again!

    Totally missed the screw behind the logo. You save me. I actually think I did this on a newer model thats green

    The pump arrived with the circuit board and was an easy install. You covered key steps that I would have missed, such as moving the rubber fittings from one pump to another, the tubing from the steam generator to the head, and hidden screws (like the one behind the Bissell logo). This is an excellent instructional video.
    It seemed like a lot of screws had to be removed, but once the new pump was installed it went back together fairly easy.
    The steam pump must be a common problem with these. I see these units at the Goodwill outlets just about every time I got there, and often still in the carton.

      I look at Goodwill but haven't seen any of them, if I did, I would definitely scoop them up.

    Okay I know this video is like 2 years old but if you happen to see this are all the screws that take it apart the same size or should I definitely keep them separated so I know where they go

    • @prohomevideos
      @prohomevideos  Рік тому

      Hi, I think I remember that a couple of them might have been a little different in length so if possible, maybe keep that in mind. I really don't think it will be that big of a deal if you put them in the wrong place, the ones that were longer were only longer by a little bit.

    Looks like the circuit board is wired to the pump. Did you just cut it off?

    • @prohomevideos
      @prohomevideos  Рік тому

      I just pulled the spade connectors off of the pump, they came right off. I then used the spade connectors from the existing circuit board that was still in the vacuum and it connected right up.

      Did you use distilled water? I know that some are hard to removed because of the hard water deposits around the seal.

    I now i need to replace the pump for mine i also bought i new vacuum im glad i can order the part and do it myself and save money because the vacuum works but its leaking from the filter like all the water from the tank drain out through that filter but the seal looks in good condition and not broken and leaves a lot of water when i mop is it because the steam is not working or i need to replace that filter too? Thanks for the video i will appreciate the response to my question. Thank you

      I am not familiar with your problem as I just fixed my pump. If your seals are good, maybe there is a hairline crack somewhere.

    Great video, didn’t need it for the pump replacement but great for the detail of dismantling to get to replace the handle assembly. This comes as one unit and includes the cable that plugs into the unit that you showed at 6mins in. Also the tip to get the lever under the spring at 7mins in - 🍻 cheers

    Was your giving a knocking sound? Mine is generating heat but when I pull the handle it’s just giving me a knocking sound like the pump isn’t cycling water.

    • @prohomevideos
      @prohomevideos  2 роки тому +1

      The knocking sound is the pump priming when you first pull the trigger and it should stop after a few moments.

    Hello - my Symphony Pet still has some steam coming out, however I've noticed that it is significantly weaker/less than before. Will this issue be fixed with a new pump or is this a problem with a different part? Appreciate the help, thank you!

      I have the same pet version. You need to remove more screws so that it comes completely apart (which it doesn’t in the video). The handle won’t be a problem.
