I have been leaning too much towards the good side that has the one crutch which I guess means I am not at 50% weightbearing on the injured side, so I am back to using two crutches to walk. I think it is because my injured ankle and foot are terribly stiff that I cannot roll through the foot naturally to ambulate.
Hello,7 weeks ago and 2 days i had osteochondral big lesion bonemarrow autograph,i had been using knee scooter all this time. I saw dr yesterday he said i should try walking now with one crutch and i wasn't sure how to use it,and i found your video and it helped me get out to front yard and it felt so good to be able to stand upright i even drove to ups really quick using 1 crutch and fully stepping on left ankle also i start physical therapy early next week!@OfficialClutch7
@outdoorseyfun9842 I hope you recover quickly, even though I have never gotten a leg injury, I would highly recommend using 2 crutches and go to non-weight bearing and occasionally use weight bearing with both crutches and in a week or so do weight bearing but with one crutch
Broke my fibula which required surgery (plate and screws). I'm a hundred percent now (6 months later). It actually feels stronger, more stable, than it was before. I have to admit the first 3 months sucked being immobile but worth it in the end.
@@daytona392blacktop4 Wow congrats, happy to hear! I fractured my Fibula as well and unfortunately had to have surgery on it because of the Medial clear space between my bones. Been 2 weeks since my surgery now, First time experiencing for me and I’m a sports enthusiast so I like staying active playing sports and I was worried I wouldn’t come back to 100% but I’m definitely happy to hear how your experience went. If you have any suggestions regarding therapy, anything else please share .
I just want to confirm if it's OK to walk in air walker boot with 1 crutch if broken bone in ankle (particularly in malleolar fracture) just only 80% bone healed, it's already 6 weeks (not completely healed), because i do not want to reinjury myself please advise. Thank you
I try with one crutch but im hoping a lot and swinging my arm, does this mean i'm not ready for one crutch? how do you know you can do one crutch. I find it confusing and just want to get there without these major hops.
I am starting tomorrow at 25% for one week then 50% for one week per my doctor. But the next 4 weeks I am supposed to do 75% and NOT sure how that is done. Can you help with any information? Thank you.
75% would be still using 1 crutch, but then putting more weight in the involved leg than in the crutch. It's not going to be exact, but they want you to transition from 1 crutch to no crutches slowly by adding more weight in your involved leg while you still have support. Hope that makes sense!
Its been my 2 weeks and Im now trying to walk with one crutch already without using walking boot.bcoz my doctor didnot recommend me to use it.He only allows me in weight bearing.he also added that I should already walk within 1 month without crutches.so is this information running to be okay?
Your doctor knows your situation best. I would recommend following his suggestions and seeking the help of a local physical therapist to guide your rehabilitation. Best of luck!

Thanks
This was helpful. I haven't made it to the weight bearing stage yet, but I hope to be in the next 4 weeks.
So glad this was helpful! Best wishes!

If you aren't able to put 50 % weight, then you should stick with 2 crutches
Foooottttttt ❤
How long is someone usually on one crutch before no crutches at all?
Usually it is a transition into full WB, but it depends on the surgery and protocol
I am starting tomorrow at 25% for one week then 50% for one week per my doctor.

is walking with 1 crutch considered as 50% weight bearing?
If you are putting at least half your weight on the crutch when you take a step, then you can safely use 1 crutch with 50% weight bearing

@@transformationphysicalther6750 ok maam.thank you for your respond😀
How to recover from limping??
If you have significantly altered gait, I would suggest working with a physical therapist in person to retrain gait and address any underlying issues
But how to walk if i cant step on the injured foot
You have to use 2 crutches if you aren't able to put weight in one foot
