We were all so grossed out by the skin eating that we missed it lol! I had no clue either, had to replay it to see there even was a valet. If ice that is currently above sea-level melts, that would add to the water level. Like all the stuff on Greenland or Antarctica, plus any ice shelves that have a fair amount of ice exposed.

I had a science book that had an experiment in which you fill a glass all the way to the top and put ice cubes in it until it's just about to spill over. Once the ice melts, the water level is the same. The matter cannot be created nor destroyed, so the water goes from a solid state to a liquid state but still occupies the same amount of space. Thus the water level will not be changed. However, as I previously mentioned, this doesn't take into account water that was elsewhere (on land) that eventually melts and goes into the sea. Then the water levels will be affected, which appears to be what his plan is.
