The best backpacking trips are the ones you get to hangout with your friends no matter how much you get to hike. No matter the weather. As long as you come back alive with most of your fingers and toes, it been a good trip.

Oh man I know that being stuck in the clouds feeling. We were down at Linville a couple years back and one of our spots was in the cloud all night. Water collected on my bug net and then dripped on my head. Not great sleep but still a great time.
Linville is such a beautiful gorge. I’d rather have rain than mist and dew. Everything was wet on us. Nothing was dry. Inside and outside of my hammock
