Yes! The changing of attachments on these machines is a real PAIN! The 47 and 60 blowers are pretty bullet proof in my opinion compared to similar sized blowers for out front mowers but they have made little advancement in almost 30 years which is a shame! The lack of control over the deflector on the chute from in the cab is enough to make you scratch your head and wonder if they are asleep at their desks at Deere, such a simple add?! Glad to see someone put these to the test for everyone to see and like the caption says - are you watching John Deere?
Based on my experience with both the 47 and the 60 HD Deere blowers, you really need to have the machine wide open to somewhat efficiently move snow. My long standing opinion is that Deere could do a much better job for the price you pay for the blowers.
I think one of the biggest advantages that most people dont talk about with snow throwers is how much the snow is compacted by throwing, especially in comparison to using a blade or bucket. If you are in a high snowfall area you really cant beat a blower for keeping the size of your snow piles down. I really wouldnt recommend them for clearing large open areas, but they shine on the long lanes.
Agreed, if you have a pallet jack it can help. Also I have found that a tow strap works great for pulling the mower deck off... hook the loops around the caster wheel posts then put the strap over a ball on a hitch and drive in reverse. Thanks for the comment!
If you are not operating at full speed then of course your not throwing the snow far. Also, if there are any gaps between the impellor and the housing, you should try adding rubber. This can make a substantial difference. There are many videos showing how. With a few mods, this should be an excellent show blowing machine.
I would agree that it could do a better job throwing the snow. The higher you rev engine the further it throws, but what you see in video is around 3/4 throttle. If you need to really launch snow there are probably better throwers. Thanks for comment and observation!

Pronovost makes a blower specific to the Deere front mount.

We have a 1575 and putting the attachments on even with two people is the biggest pain in the butt!

Cute little bugger.
It is, and at 50K it's a pricy cute little bugger. I think I'd prefer the 3046R with cab for thew same price.
My kubota throws the snow a lot farther , thats for sure .
I have a 1545 for mowing ang it works great for that , especially with the Vflex mower .

Thanks for the tip, it never made much of a difference though at 75% or 100% throttle, just burned a lot more diesel
where does one live to get snow like this. I love it lmao
Wisconsin! 😀
I was considering this but in video it doesn’t seem to throw the snow very far.

Not impressed at all! It seems to barely throw the snow! Toro 328d with a blower throws snow 30 plus feet
Agreed
Sure doesn’t throw snow very far
No it does not :)
