I agree 100% Silvester Stallone has my deepest respect. He has made it on his own the hard way. When he wrote Rocky he was offered $300,000 at the time he only had $300 dollars to his name and he turned the offer down cause the producers did not want him as the actor. He believed in himself and ultimately was called and they accepted his terms. I love the guy. He is my mentor and my inspiration.
I love most of the Rocky films. My new favorite is “Rocky Balboa”. It has inspired me as 55 year old mess to get my shit together. Mentally and physically. Sylvester Stallone is an inspiration. Btw. Love your show Joe!

@LadyGaGa is hot who the fuck said that was the reason for life? You're making shit up now. The fact is life can be incredibly tough at times especially for those of us not born with a silver spoon in our mouths, the way we take these lows and keep moving forward determines what type of characters we are. I personally have been through very hard times in my life, which to be honest are probably beyond your comprehension but have so far managed to pick myself up and move on. If that's not been your story so far then I hope your luck continues.
Sly showed us what PTSD is like in 'First Blood' when most people had never heard of PTSD - also highlighted 'Agent Orange' when he went to see his friend and to learn he had died from cancer Brian Dennehy - Richard Crenna - Great movie for a 13 year old me Got to respect him for turning down $350,000 for 'Rocky' script - self belief is so powerful
I think he sold it when a studio wanted to shoot the film he went back to the people that bought it they got paid again at least he was credited as the author and he got what he wanted the most of it which is to star in it
But the testosterone helps LOL!!! I remember ephedrine. Idk how old pple are. But that was like coke!! I worked out four hours a day!!! Unbelievable strength. I curled 90's. Then they band it! But the drink was called speed stack. They might still make it but not with ephedrine obviously. But damn, even after 4-hour work outs a day, I couldn't sleep.
They forgot that Dolph Lundgren sent him to the hospital and had real boxers train him to the max and really wanted to be hit. What a legend, he really is Rocky.
The first Rocky is the best of them all. But, it's the second one, where he just barely beats Apollo that gets me. When he says "Yo Adrian, I DID IT!" my eyes get watery every time.

I still remember coming out of the theater feeling like I could do anything after watching Rocky. That was 45 years ago I was 10 years old at the time and ready to go after a bully I had been dodging. Lucky for him the bravado had died down the next time I saw him.
@guyverjay Yes because you take drugs and look like Stallone, that's how it works /sarcasm Besides Jackie Chan may not be on anabolics but I'm sure by now he's on shitloads of pain relief meds so technically he is drugged up.
I am with ya guys. Always been active and am 43 now, but this past October I decided to go full throttle and see how far I could go with lifting. Monday, Wednesday and Friday I am up at 4am, at the gym by 5am, lifting by 5:03 and hit the showers by 6:05. I also started cutting out shit like sugar, salt and bad carbs and haven't been in better shape, even when I was in high school playing sports on a regular basis. Helps too that I quit drinking almost 8 years ago as well. Keep at it fellas because I truly feel we get better with age, especially when we take care of ourselves. Sly has always been a big inspiration and helped provide me with that extra boost to take care of myself.
I think sly is who he is through adversity, tough times make you appreciate things more. His back story is truly inspiring, having been to the places where everyday people have been helps his films to relate to the audience. He does the underdog really well, take for example lock up and first blood. Obviously rocky is a character that resonates with everyone but I think my fav movie other than rocky is first blood.
He's a legend and it's a shame he's never really been respected by Hollywood as a "serious" actor because in certain movies he puts on such an emotional performance. Watch First Blood, Cop Land, the original Rocky or Rocky Balboa, he's a fucking great actor. Not that any of that really matters because he's an idol to millions of fans all over the world.
He was amazing in Copland. Part of the issue with Hollywood and Stallone was that when he first made it, he didn't play ball the way you're supposed to. He didn't wear a tux to the Oscars, he didn't say the things or act the way you're supposed to and it started things out on a very wrong foot. They never really let him back into the "club" after that, no matter how much money he made for them.
@R V During the filming of Rocky IV. Lundgren punched him in the heart really hard. During a scene Stallone wanted it to look real, and told Lundgren to really try and knock him out, so he ended up nailing him in the chest with a punch so hard it banged his heart against his ribs, causing it to swell up. He was in intensive care for around 4 or 5 days.
Stallone is the best action actor ever, his movies changed our lives , Rocky, rambo, first blood, over the top you name it anybody comes close to the impact his movies had on us i always cry when i watch Over the top but what make his movies even better is its sound tracks all the songs are heartbreaking ( the eye of the tiger, burning heart etc)

Well from day 1 Rocky’s superpower was to take an insane amount of pain and keep coming at you. So I have no problem with Rocky slowly wearing Drago down through 15 rounds. What I do find ridiculous was Creed 2. You can’t TEACH the Rocky superpower to anyone. He shouldn’t have beaten Drago 2.0 because he was trained by Rocky. But I have no problem with Rocky beating Drago
Arnie and Sly Stallone are the only ones who can look believable in an action role in their 70's (Expendables, Rambo: Last blood, later Terminator films, escape plan etc). Legends! 💪

I know when we speak of guys with heart we're always talking about professional athletes but Stallone is a man who's massive success came from having a lot of heart.
For a guy Stallone's age to be able to get into the shape he is in now he must be constantly working out, year in, year out. I love the guy. My doctor met him and says Stallone is one of the rare stars that is built the way he looks in the movies. I have always loved the guy. Geronimo McDuggins Russell Crowe actually is a fucking beast who you probably would not want to fight. During the filming of Cinderella Man, he got kicked out of so many nearby bars for fighting that the closest bar he could get into was 40 miles away. Paul Giamatti tells a pretty good story on the matter.
The Rocky script and movie were downright elegant. Understated. Beautiful. And just so cool all the way up. Such a soft spot in so many hearts for Sly. ❤️
rick poghll, Preach! It's astounding how I wasn't able to make any gains for about 3 years, but then after founding out about Athlean X, I was able to fix my anterior pelvic tilt and gain 10 pounds in less than one year by following his free videos. Jeff is truly the best.
Love Stallone. LOVE HIM! His work ethic is the stuff of legends. One of the main reasons he has such vitality at his age has to be HRT. There’s no way for a 70 year old man to hang on to that much lean muscle mass and flexibility completely naturally. If you can afford it though is another matter. You can’t just inject hormones and magically be like that but it wouldn’t be possible without them no matter how hard you worked out. Matter of fact you would just disintegrate down to nothing pilling on permanent injury after permanent injury without some testosterone and HGH replacement at that age.
I think he's been pretty honest about what he takes. I don't remember exactly, but he said something along the lines of the medical community and their opinions are just behind the times, it'll be more common in the future. I want to say it was HGH, worth looking up if you're interested.
It would be legal and even normal (for someone that can afford it) for Stallone to get hormone replacement therapy to stop the natural decrease of testosterone; however with his dedication and money to put into training he may not need it. I have a grandfather that has maintained the same amount of muscle mass (for him) into his 80's without anything other than a strict diet and daily workouts. Good genetics and the money to train hard instead of having to work and budget like most people will do more than synthetics.
Actually that's bullshit, with all due respect bro. I've been struggling with trying to get mine up on the case that I have all the symptoms yet my levels are clinically fine. So I rounded up a complete and in-depth list of every, single, fucking, possible, way; To increase testosterone... There is about 30 ways, all including sleep intervals, binaural frequencies, infra red light therapy, complete diets, supplements, nootropics, extracts, terpenes, lifting routines, cold showers, sauna, etc. A man of his money and fame can EASILYYYY have a full cooking dream in his kitchen all the time, no problem getting every substance needed, all his lamps, contraptions, everything at home. He can keep his T levels bursting until 100. Elixir of youth gentlemen.

Robert- same here. Sly is 72 and still a beast. "Rocky Balboa" made me feel like a lazy pig and rightly so. It inspired me to get back to being the athlete I once was. 12 years later and I am still running 5 days a week and lifting 3-4 days. Left that 60 lbs of fat I lost sitting on the metaphorical "couch of 2006".
Keep at it brother! Hopefully you inspire others who are struggling to get their crap together. Now go get it!!!

Can you imagine the confidence his kids would have had if they got into a "my dad can beat up your dad" argument at school?
They could almost never have that argument unless the other kid was Schwarzenegger as kid.
Well, not if the other kid's dad is Dolph Lundgren. :)

Stallone and David Goggins should work out together..... I'd pay money to watch that, LOL!!!
Stanley Scalf, if you love him so much, why don't you marry him?
@Schweddy Ballz Yes you do.
Actually that's bullshit, with all due respect bro. I've been struggling with trying to get mine up on the case that I have all the symptoms yet my levels are clinically fine.
