50 MS-DOS games released in 1992

Hello and welcome to the 11th episode of evolution of MS-DOS gaming.
We are in the year of 1992 now.
A year full of great and quality games like Alone in the Dark, Dune 1 and 2, Ultima Underworld, Wizardry 7, ... the list goes on and on.

Moved from an Amiga to a PC in 1992/3, so remember a few of these! Dune 2 especially, what a game!!

I moved to PC in 1991 (286 with color VGA display) from ZX Spectrum 48k that I owned from 1985. And what a gigantic leap it was. Although I always loved (and still do) the Speccy and other 8-bit machines (C64, Atari, CPC, ...).

You have unlocked a mi memory in me with Ugh. I remember playing it so much and I could never understand how a game that looked so good could only take like 300kb.

Castles II..hadn't thought about that one in awhile. A great classic RTS. '91-'93 may have been the best time to own a PC (classically)

So many great titles that year: Ultima VII: the Black Gate, Ultima Underworld, Alone in the Dark, Dune 2, Wolfenstein 3d, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.... I think this was the year PC became the best game platform. There was simply no competition anymore. And the following year, with DooM, will seal the deal definitely.

Agreed. 1992 was probably the year that showed the general public that PC can be a great gaming machine as well.

Comanche: Maximum Overkill still graphically impressive for a game relased in 1992

@@retrononame ye, Comanche looking good for modern standard too and Ultima Underlord: The Stygian abyss its literally the precursor of Elder Scrolls Saga, i guess this game influenced a lot of modern games like Bioshock, The Elder Scrolls Skyrim, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines and System Shock.

Uh, vseh DOS iger je verjetno na tisoče. Približki na internetu pravijo vsaj 8000 DOS iger od 1981 naprej...
