Probably an unpopular take, but my god these silver rims just look so much "cleaner" than any black ones. I wish they made some kind of classic kidneys with small chrome accent around, just like in the oldern days - basically a 911 GT-Touring spec 😅
I agree the 825m wheels look awesome in the all silver finish. They look great on the new m2 as well. I’m surprised they didn’t offer it for the earlier year cars.
was gonna echo that myself i feel diamond cuts are now overused they're on everything, sometimes the simpler designs look better especially with a slightly meatier tyre 👍
I have always disliked black rims and smoked lights. Someone mean doesn't spend money to make their car look meaner. So what's it telling you about the driver
True. More power to mask the lack of feel and emotion. There's a lot of fun to have in an older, lighter, lower powered (say mx5) thrashing it at slower speeds!
Thank you Joe, finally a review of the LCI model. I already ordered mine and wasn't sure if I shouldn't have bought the pre-LCI model, but your review reassured me that it was a good choice! 😀 Can't wait, just few weeks till it arrives.
Absolutely stunning spec that M3... exterior and interior wise is on point. Silver wheels are absolutely epic.... shows of the alloy more than any dark grey or gloss black colour. It's got a bit of an M5 F90 resemblance in that spec... love it 🔥💯
Gorgeous car and a fantastic review - Thanks Joe & Tony. Love that interior nd if it was mine, I'd debadge and lose that boot spoiler; its the ultimate Q-car in many ways
I usually am not the biggest fan of black cars, but it looks really good on this car. The whole spec and mods are absolutely perfect, Tony is a man of great taste!
The new LCI steering wheel is exactly the same width around the 10 and 2 notches. I have a 2024 and just changed to the LCI steering wheel and measured both, and they are exactly the same. The flat bottom is personal preference, but coming from Audi's, I love it! Looks and feels much more aggressive in my opinion.
Interesting and great to hear about the improved ride quality. This has been one of my primary complaints with the M3/4 as a daily, being too harsh of a ride in comfort mode.
I went with a similar look on my 2024, black vorsteiner grill, black m performance style lip and black break ducts. I thought it might look too "murdered out" but thankfully it looks very OEM plus.
I’ve never understood the black wheel !!! First thing I changed on my thunder night metallic M240i were the wheels. Now bright silver forged. Looks so good.
@joeachillies @2:52 No carbon roof is so not a hard decision. I love sunroofs on my beamers. They also add value at resale. Keep the content coming Joe 👍🏻
Thanks, Joe for striving so hard to bring across how these cars feel and behave, and thanks so much for showing us this simply stunning piece of kit. Congrats Mr. TRL, what a nice car! The only thing I would change personally is I would have gone for some Motech wheels as well maybe some MW-X but that's just me🤭
Joe you are in your element with the M3! So much knowledge and I had no idea about the LCI. With the subtle changes from the looks it may seem on the face of it the LCI is not worth it but the extra power along with the "CS" inspired tweaks it seems like a great a great update. Also, loving the touches from Motech to enhance the looks. Great review as always Joe 😊
as someone who absolutely hates hates new cars and their looks, at last a new car that i actually think, holy crap that looks amazing. And this is coming from someone who is a merc guy throughout, with a w204 c63 facelift. defo one to ill be buying when it depreciates to £20k.
Buy M3 now if you can because it won’t get any better. In fact it will only get worst with next generation when they will add pointless plug in system like M5 or make it crap EV.
@ I don’t disagree with you, but it’s very hard to change the thrifty habits of 60 years! I also want to give my kids a good start in life and my wife had breast cancer and her insurance premiums went through the roof. She’s worried about it coming back and if we can’t afford the cover and I feel I owe her what little comfort I can give.🤷♂️
@@connect4558my G80 is worth almost as much as I paid 2 years ago. While I only have 6k miles on it they are holding their value well hence the price increase. 911’s are holding their value extremely well too should you need to get out of it. My 911T at sticker is worth 10k more the second I drive off the lot. Granted I order and wait patiently to pay sticker but some people want things now and are willing to pay a premium
@@connect4558 M3 Xdrives don't seem to be depreciating at all in the US? It's no 911 but as far as resale value goes, they're holding up very well. At least in the states. A 2022 Xdrive that's decently equipped is still in the mid 70's
I love it. I might be only person that doesnt like the grille - it might be an illusion with the black- but it looks the grille is missing or taken off for repair.
Love your review like usual ! Thanks for the update on the M3. I bought the pre-LCI not long ago (I watched all your M3/M4 reviews and you made me want to buy this car). And I am not disappointed, it is a beast…
hey joe, you should review the alpina b3 gt and see how it compares to this m3 lci interms of comfort, power and daily drivability......... nice video btw
I have a 23 Xdrive and a 24 manual. I’ve noticed the ride feels better on the manual because the wheels are smaller non comp. I’ve also had a 21 rwd competition. So the wheels you’re riding on play a big role on ride comfort.
Black makes the normally amazing looking M3 look like a 320d. I much prefer the old style headlights too. But the question is, would I have one. Of course I would
I recall when 300hp was a lot of grunt for any sports car. My 2005 Audi S4 had 340hp and the M3 of that era had around 333. BMW had to go up to a V8 engine to reach 400hp in those days (mid 2000s). What a difference this era of turbocharging has made for power figures! BTW: silver wheels > black wheels.
Great video Joe really interested in the new LCI but think I prefer my current M3 Touring - love the laser lights and you know what having the heated steering wheel button on the steering wheel and not in the Idrive is better. Love the alloys though! Thanks again for another awesome review.
I honestly like both. I think the new lights compliments the bottom carbon fiber slant on each side. More cohesive. Imagine a red drl module for them with a blacked out car
Great looking car finished off nicely by some parts from Motech. I picked up my Fire Red 2025 M240i today and it’s off to Motech for a full ceramic coating next week.
Nice looking with the silver wheels for a change👌 Although no buckets🤔I am thinking it's because Tony uses it as a daily and it's not the fact it's an age related thing he can't get out of them😜
Wonder how this compares to the pre-LCI coded with CS steering and transmission software. Just submitted my G80 xdrive order yesterday and this confirms my choice.
Was waiting for this review Joe. I'm not a huge fan of the new look head lights or the new steering wheel. But luckily it hasn't lost any of it blistering pace!! Nice to see a M3 review other than all those M5 ones!! After watching all these reviews the M3 still comes out on top for me. Better looks, image and 0-60!! Sorry don’t like the silver rims!!😅
@@PEACEOUTXX1 I drive a kia so I haven't really got a dog in the fight, but I think bmw, audi and merc they're all the same and just a big con and the best way to keep you in perpetual poverty.
@Hm32271 They’re not meant for people who even have a chance of being in poverty. Don’t buy cars you can’t afford. People who buy new M3’s should be making at least a stable $140k-150k per year, and have all their other finances worked out.
The car really looks good not sure about the interior bit loud for me does suite the black though. Makes me want one. The G20 shape does suit black but is a challenge to keep looking good, having had a black Golf GTI many years ago and it is maintenance intensive.
I have a 72 plate M4 and the dash looks so much better than that weird samsung g9 monitor on the later ones. It looks so much like an after thought to me. I won't be updating mine anytime soon
All black with bright silver wheels is a classic combo ✅
A really really nice look
Indeed
you mean the drvg dealer look?
Yeah black rims does not do it justice

The silver rims and midnight purple would go so well
I agree the 825m wheels look awesome in the all silver finish. They look great on the new m2 as well. I’m surprised they didn’t offer it for the earlier year cars.
I agree, which makes it look so much more modern.

The wheels in silver are absolute perfection. Please start offering more ‘classic’ wheels BMW!
Couldn’t agree more. All these black wheels are getting tired (tyred*)
I have always disliked black rims and smoked lights. Someone mean doesn't spend money to make their car look meaner. So what's it telling you about the driver
Cars getting ever-faster whilst the roads get ever-slower.
True. More power to mask the lack of feel and emotion. There's a lot of fun to have in an older, lighter, lower powered (say mx5) thrashing it at slower speeds!
And if you get on a good road there is so much traffic you can’t string a couple of bends together at any pace
Correct complete waste of time in the uk
Rds are terrible, cameras everywhere, you can only go as fast as the train in frt
Pointless
Maybe in the UK but not in the US
I know london you have 20mph limit roads 70mph max motorway 😂
The mods on this car are subtle and done right. It's how it should have come out of the factory! Great review Joe!
Silver wheels/black bimmer....mon dieu, its a classic combo. Will never go out of date. Thanks for an interesting & informative review.
Probably the nicest looking BMW wheels I've ever seen, the whole car looks very nice indeed ! Would look pretty outstanding in silver too!
My gosh those rims look immaculate!😻

E60 vibes with those wheels and black paint
Carbon Black and a set of spyders, loved my old E60's
Have never liked black wheels on any car unless they are bi-colour, but absolutely love these silver ones. They look very classy!
Looks lovely those wheels look beautiful in silver.
bright silver wheels always looking good
Black with silver wheel spec is spot on

Skyscraper Grey with Red/Black interior, Aluminum Rhombicle trim and 826m bi-color wheels - my dream spec.
The ride improvement is noticeable- definitely makes the the LCI a comfortable daily driver.
Nice to see you on here as well! 😀

Stunning spec. Alloys and boot spoiler really work!

Great video Joe. Agree with you in on the 50th anniversary badges, iD7 over iD8 screen and the round over the flat bottom wheel.
I’ve never understood the black wheel !!! First thing I changed on my thunder night metallic M240i were the wheels. Now bright silver forged. Looks so good.
Yes, black wheels need to go the way of the dinosaur. They completely hide the wheel design.
What an impeccably clean and stunningly gorgeous M3 that is!
Awesome color combo looks insane 🔥🔥🔥🔥
That is my favourite spec on a g80 so far. I would want mine excatly the same as that. Tony you nailed it mate 💪

Proper spec M3!!
I stopped calling Croydon Kent from when i lived there. I've moved near Brands Hatch now and we have very good roads here.
Same issue up north, Merseyside etc although parts of North Wales do have some excellent well maintained tarmac
The flat bottom wheel is the icing on the cake
Totally agree with the road/speed rant, zero point owning cars like these anymore in the UK - never a decent road to use them on!
