It’s actually very impressive for disabled people like me who can’t move or sit. This tilt is very important. I hope LTT creates videos tips and tricks for disabled people. That would be great. Thanks a lot!
If your monitor supports VESA mounting you can always get a similar stand for under $100, but yeah, these days any good monitor should come with a decent stand, there's no excuse for that

The "100x100mm base" is actually a kit to mount the monitor arm through a grommet hole of a desk, or you could drill a hole and mount it through the desk as opposed to clamped along the edge.

James: "a noif"

Best part, stand comes free with monitor
Nothing is free, it's included in the cost
Did you see the ammount of wobble on this stand? L.E.: and it's not even free.
The monitor is pretty expensive to begin with at $699 for 4k@60 with no displayhdr certification. You can get a dual hinge stand for like $30
Hello apple there!
I want to buy it separately
LG should sell the stand as a VESA 100 stand. This would be sweet.
2:35 I LOVE this mini story in the middle of the unbocking, with its own color grade and fitting music. Great work on the editing Mark and nice acting James and Andy :) Work that production value.

Apple: "Wait that's illegal"
Apple: "sorry americans, I know your brain will buy this 1000$ stand cause ur iq is negative"
That's not even a VESA mount, it's a plate to mount the pillar through a hole in the table instead of with the C-clamp. You can even literally see that there are no vesa screw holes in the corner. He's just dumb.
@@nikoolix also, the monitor doesn't need a vesa adapter, you have your classic 100×100mm holes already in the monitor itself
This is a great mount arm! You could have your desk flush against the wall or very close to it and be able to easily get to the back of the monitor to add a cable or whatever you need to do back there!
5:32 looks like thats a grommet adapter for the stand instead of vesa mount and that second knob is for the grommet installation.
That was my thoughts exactly, it doesn't have 100x100 holes but does have non slip rubber.
Was looking for this @ShortCircuit
because reading the parts list description or the manual would have taken FAR too much time, right? Also reveals how many monitor stands have been installed by the reviewer?
yes so you can mount / bolt it to middle of desk
There's a cable management system in the stand as well.
Another possible use for it is in a dorm setting, where a student might want to routinely adjust it to watch video content in bed and then use it as a workstation sitting at their desk. I had a similar setup back in the day using a CRT arm to hold my laptop that I got for free from an old arcade that was closing down.
My mom and I just watched your unboxing and we were BOTH VERY IMPRESSED at how entertaining and honestly informative your video for the LG TV is! I just bought the TV, thanks for the great review, keep it up :)
I really wish there were more monitors that had daisy-chain, especially over USB-C. Multi-monitor setups are increasingly popular and having single cables to link each component to the next and still maintain usability of all the features including the full scope of USB ports would be clean and efficient.
5:24 the extra bolt is probably and that plate with rubber is designed so you can drill through your desk and mount it through that way... thats probably also what the Square bracket that he called a 100x100 vesa mount is for. because you can clearly see it has no holes in the corner to be a VESA mount.
Brilliant stand. Didn't even have to screw it in. Impressed. Be so cool being able to swivel and show a co worker something. Would never get old doing the swivel.
James: *POINTS IN MIDDLE FINGER*
Also editor: Smh. . . *pixel blur tool*
Finally! Someone who actually figured out how to product a opening box video in a way where you actual cover every aspect of the product!
i think he missed/misinterpreted a couple of things, but it was entertaining
I like James' reviews as he clearly appreciates little QOL things that I also look for.
QOL is what differentiates a good product from a great one IMO.
But he got many things wrong. He mistook that metal plate for a vesa adapter, it's not, it's a plate to mount the pillar through a hole in the table instead of with the C-clamp.
this is truly a nice monitor stand, it saves space on desk, can't wait for gaming models to come out with same stand support !
Perfect for the dev that sometimes games. Love James' monitor reviews.

I bought the 27 inch version of this. Main is to have a single wire setup. The monitor, especially its ergo arm looks good. It worked fine with my Lenovo Thinkpad. But when I connected my MacBook Air M1 to this monitor using USB-C, the display is working fine. But the USB-A ports behind the monitor are not recognised by the MacBook. So we can't connect USB headphones/pendrive/wireless/wired KB and mouse (not bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless receiver ones), in fact any USB-A accessory to the MacBook via this monitor. This is not a problem with the piece I got. The same problem exists with other model of LG monitor (4K USB-C) also which my neighbour is using. So please consider this fact before buying this. I returned mine and bought Lenovo P27H-20 which is working fine. I miss the ergo arm of LG but I prefer connectivity over the flexibility of the arm.

I'm impressed by the amount of angle adjustment this thing has! It almost gives you that Expanse feeling of swiping over details of something.
Should look into the ViewSonic TD1655/VG1655 monitors at some point. "Portable" monitors...
This is cool. I’d love it if they added power and video connections to the vesa mount so there’s no cables twisting around when you move the monitor.
I was contemplating this, but my biggest gripes were actually both the size and the resolution, as my pc would not be able to run 4k, and I do not fancy having a 32" monitor on my desk, but when you mentioned the 1440 variant with 27", I was absolutely sold! Now the trouble is money
"It's not a gaming monitor..."
*two seconds later*
"And there's FreeSync!"
75hz is NOT GAMING monitor
Free sync meaning gaming? It's display hardware collaboration through a chip..
Well, freesync is like its name says, royalty free, so there is no point in not including it, and it's also more stuff to put in to your marketing material, it's a win-win kind of feature.
edit: spelling
Free sync is useful in many video editing situations.. Just because it has something normally in gaming monitors doesn't mean it's gaming.
@@atomic8681 Not to mention it's nice for just watching video in general (though any vsync setup would do).
"On the hot broken yoke that is the South American skies" is my favorite stitcher album.

the power cord extension is for being mounted permanently into/onto the arm, so you don*t have to route the cable new every time you move your monitor to another place. At least that*s what I'd guess and appretiate
Just wanted to give some props for your presentation style, very entertaining 😊
7:25 - "You can get an Anthony one or a James one or... I guess a Linus one if you want.."
9:55 Not sure why but that sensor of the finger really tickled me 😂
I think that extension cable is meant to be plugged to the monitor then attached with some Velcro tape with all the other cables alongside the arm so it's easier to manipulate without putting too much strain on the brick cable. That's how I would use it anyway.
Where the stand connects into the back of the monitor, there is a 100x100 vesa mount, the piece you were holding is for making a hole in your desk, then that piece goes on the bottom side of your desk, that second bolt you showed goes through that piece, through the desk and threads into the monitor arm.
9:56 ohh thanks for the blur 😂😂😂
man Linus casually walked in and asked question caught me off guard lmao
Assuming the joint is strong enough, putting all three rotational axes of adjustment into a single joint is an amazing idea, that itself would simplify so many stand designs, and all that would be left is height adjust.
This design also somewhat gives you depth adjust, because of the multi-hinge design, at the sacrifice of left/right linear positioning of the monitor. If LG could find a good way to integrate left/right linear movement, to account for the depth adjust positioning, this could be the most versatile stand, for both single person use and collaborative spaces.
Some businesses will love this, to be able to show a customer something on your screen.
@4:55 HDMI version should be at least 2.0 for a UHD & HDR capable unit.
yap confusion what he said!

Best comment! xD
Please give us some thoughts on the build and screen quality of this monitor. I think this line up will be really interesting for content creators and people who want an allrounder for their minimalistic desk setup
I got a stand like this for my monitor for $30 on Amazon, only thing it doesn't have is easy height adjust since you use an allen wrench to lock the height.
LG stand: *exist*
Mac pro stand: "am I a joke to you?"
Damn that's mighty fine
Talking about James here ;)
He's married
1:32 - I bought 2 different desks in attempt to make my dual monitor stand with this type clamp mount; both had to be modified still to make it an actually effective mounting solution; and I ended up with a table from an office building.
So no, most tables will not work; it's about the depth of the clamp and where the table/desk's back-plate might be.
If it doesn't have a back-plate for support most these mounts will make the table shake the monitor in my experience.
his reviews are pure gold, we need more hahaha

Super funny, nicely laid back and honestly very helpful. I love these kinda unscripted video’s!
The power brick is large because it is supporting not only the monitor, but USB-C charging, and the USB 3.0 ports on the back. I'm also pretty sure I have the C-bin panel version of that monitor.... got it new for $250 right from LG recently.

I'm not over this monitor arm, I still think about it every day. Whatever my next monitor is, it needs that arm. Haven't bought a screen since 2012, maybe next year.
When you do to the trouble of displaying the features in the upper left corner while James mentions them (I like that btw :) ), you could use that opportunity to translate inches into centimeters. Not for the display size, that's pretty international, but fot the measured max. table thickness compatibility.
Imagine if the fan turns on and your monitor gets blown to the side a bit
While I enjoy the more relaxed type of videos from LTT, this one is a bit too much, it's almost like he doesn't care about reviewing the product (which might just be the case, I just enjoy it more when I get the feeling the person doing the review cares about showing the technology)
think it comes across that way as Linus is also recording at the same time, so James was trying too keep his voice down.
Great unboxing. Thank you, sir.
I have a 32" Dell on a Humanscale stand, which has a lot less wobble, but is also a lot more difficult to position and move around. Though it has slightly more reach than this. The biggest issue was finding an arm that supported 32" displays as these are usually heavy enough (11.2kg/24.7lb) that regular stands just don't work with them. But I think I would take this combination over this monitor, as it is possible to use the arm with other displays as well as use the display with a simple desk stand which isn't included here.
OMG IT'S JAMES REVIEWING MONITORS AGAIN
YYYEEEEESSSS

That would be just fine for my usage. Finally, something that would let my monitor be at perfect height and angle. Wish it wasn't quite so big...27" would be great at 4k.
When you're so early it's still unlisted

That c-clamp looks like it is adjustable. There are extra bolt holes there, you likely remove some Allen bolts to change the size of the clamp.
The monitor shelf on my desk is raised, so that tilt down would be super nice

@@MaxPlays21 compared to premium monitor stands, maybe. Compared to normal monitor stands, nope. Your basis is shit.
I run a lot of monitors across many systems and I have quite a few LG monitors for 24” to a few 34” and I always notice that the LG units are nice but they are quite dim compared to my other monitors like Acer in the same size.

i have an aftermarket version of this stand on my 32gk650 called Gorilla Arm. Now, funy thing, because the vesa mount on the 32gk650 is recessed by a few milimeters, I had to chop/file off 5mm at each corner of the mounting plate to get it to sit fush with the mount.
That wobble! Thanks you just saved me $800 here in Canada going with the M3 iMac with 4.5K - i wanted the mini but the cheaper screens out there seem to suck.
the steel base with holes is to replace the clamp, if you can't use it on your desk
Thanks for the review! Any additional thoughts after 30 days of use?
At 5:34 - Not a VESA mount and extra twisty handle for the clamp. Those are parts for mounting the bracket on a desk through-hole.
I had a G4 iMac that has the pivot screen. I love that thing. I remember on my room with my friends, and just move the screen to them and say "Hey, new trailer for Lord of the Rings, check it"
Awesome review. Considering getting a similar monitor, well two. Curious to know what desk you have in this video?!
Lou from Toranna' pulled one of these babies out last week and yeah, that stand is pretty sweet!
I'm pretty sure the table clamp's spacing is adjustable by changing the height of the threaded bracket. The desk clamp VESA mounts at my work have that feature, and it looks like there are screws and extra holes on this guy's clamp.
