Got mine in Micro Center bundle great deal. Think it's still there if anyone is close to one. Never mind it is sold out there. Happy I got it when I did.
Getting my 7800X3D on Monday finally. Thanks for all your content, it was really helpful for making my own build based on local prices, which are surprisingly different than US. Since you always talk in detail about whole process of building PC for any given budget, I was able to come up with a build that should last me for a long time. :)
@@itzturtlexd1721 thanks, my current setup lasted me 8 years, it was rough for the last few years, but for 1080p gaming it was enough to at least play on low even the newest titles. Now I'm upgrading to 1440p and I hope this new build can last as long as the last one. Sadly I have to wait a bit longer for the motherboard, but the next weekend I should be gaming, though the waiting and anticipation is the worst 😃
Same, I bought the 7800X3D as well when Jason recommended. I was really fortunate I’m near a Micro Center and got it bundled so it was only $276. I’m a first time builder.
Everybody called me crazy for getting the Ryzen 9 7950X3D a week before the Zen 5 cpu's release. During black Friday the prices went from 600 all the way to 460.
7600X was $240 when I bought one, been gaming with it for nearly two years now and it’s been wonderful. It’s gonna be plenty of chip for most of us, especially if you’re at 1440p or 4K . Edit: my cat decided to add his own message at the end of mine. Darn cat loves himself a digital keyboard. Just had to remove it is all.
I went through a mother of a Cat 5 when I was a teenager living in Dominican Republic. My whole street ended up underwater past the roofs of every home. The eye of the storm was so massive I legit though it was over halfway through. It was the brightest sunniest Caribbean day you could imagine and then the 2nd half slammed us overloaded a reservoir and flooded a good part of the neighborhood.
Grabbed mine about a month ago for $332, shipped and sold by Amazon. It had a $30 off coupon you could add to the order. I think with tax it was like $360ish. Anyway, saw 9700x was a bust so grabbed a 7800X3D quickly for my new AM5 build and paired it with a 4080 Super! Love it! 😎
Same, Glad they are okay. I can relate with Jason, our last major hurricane I remember the one in 2005 Wilma, we were out of power 2 weeks and streets were littered in trees, they cancelled everything at college/universities it was that bad.
@Slavic_Eagle no more 7800x3d bundles but yeah they have the standalone cpu for $400. I bought the bundle the first time they had them up before they raised the price
My buddy living down in New Orleans had his power down for a solid week and it really was a rough time for him. Good to see you and the family keeping safe!

I hesitated a month ago when it was on sale for $386. Ended up buying one two weeks ago for $454 w/ tax which isn’t too bad either considering it’s now $519.
Just grabbed one at my local walmart for $400. I stopped by there on my way home from work the other day and they had like 12 of them. I didn't end up purchasing that day but wasn't worried about missing out on it because they had a pretty good stock. When I bought it today they were down to 2 left. Glad I didn't put off grabbing it another day lol.
I got mine back in March as part of a micro center bundle with the 650 MB and 32GB ram for $399. Thanks for the info Jason. I had a friend trying to convince me to go intel but knew better from your and others videos.
Yes. You might want to check if it is acctualy a CPU under the hood. And check that the PCB have the right thicknes and right color. It should be green, not blue. The PCB should be about 1.3mm thick. not 1.1mm. There is a lot of fake 7800X3D's out there now.

I saw 7800X3D was $305 one month ago on Amazon, and estimated deliver between September 3-5. Then increased to $380 $420 $440 and sold out. Thank you for Black Wukong
I got my 7800x3d in august for $320, then not even 2 weeks later it was up to like $450+, glad I didnt wait for black friday like I was originally going to do

I convinced a friend who was building a PC that she should snag a 7800x3d this summer when it was pretty low, right after the Intel story broke. Unfortunately for me, I'm not building my own PC until the holidays, and it looks like I may have missed the boat here.
I'm one of the lucky Microcenter 7800X38 bundlers, and I'm feeling like an accidental genius right now😁 I'm on the bay-side of Houston, and we just went through one of those big angry thunderstorms recently too. I still have a hole in my roof that the insurance is being no help with.
Don’t sleep on the local markets. Back when the 7800x3D were $370-390 on Amazon I bought a sealed boxed one for $340. Then a month later a never installed in a sleeve one for $260. And last mid summer a new one in retail box but the seal was cut for $220. Last AM5 cpu was a new sealed 7600 for $150. Lots of sellers are overpriced but deals do pop up and you just need to be ready to go snag them instantly.
Yes and no. I'm sure they are happy to make an extra $100 - $130 on each Ryzen 7800X3D they are selling right now. But that Ryzen 9000 stock isn't going anywhere.
@@PCBuilderChannel Classic AMD though they are their own competition with the older product stack selling better. Happened a few times around 3000 series etc. 7000 series is becoming a better deal than it was on release, especially 7800X3D has no 9800X3D to compete against in performance or to control the price, the substitute product does not exist yet in 9000 series X3D. Also there's a question of if 9000 series performs better on 24H2 (it does well on Linux also).
Play-Asia currently has the 7800X3D available for purchase for $406. I feel like that is honestly probably as good as it's going to get until the 9800X3D comes out.
If you're looking for value right now. And you have to have something right that 7700x for $249 is probably you best bet. But I'm wondering if it's going to be on a nice sale on black Friday. The best price I've seen on the 7700x was $244.99.
as soon as you beg me to buy it i ran like the flint stones in to microcenter and i havent regrated yet in fact this review channel is so great that i stopped making bad decisions. even if in the future you wont be 100% accurate i am not delusional to think you would be but this is the next thing to perfect. thank you for your content.
I picked one up last week with a mobo, ram and M.2 storage. Going all out and nearly got a 4090 but going to hold out till the 5000 series is official released
@@MaryannLynch-z9c their good i7 12th gen are really good. I don't have it anymore because I sold that PC, built a new one with the 7800x3d. No stuttering is great, well, enjoy.
Immediately after the Zen5 reviews hit, I bought my 7800X3D for $367 (on Aug13). Not the lowest it had ever been, but before the massive increases. I was waiting to see if the 9900X would be a better value productivity chip than the 7900. It turns out not, so I decided to use my 13700K for production and turn my Zen5 plans into a gamer. Thus, I bought a 7800X3D instead of a 7900. I haven't yet built the machine, so my 7800X3D is still sealed in its box. I could sell it today for $100 more than I paid.
Well I guess I'm pushing back my build to Christmas I guess. One thing I learn from investing, when everyone is in an mania in buying something you stop because the bubble is happening. Guess my i7 4790k and 1080 will have to hold out to until Christmas at the earliest
I would just buy the 4070 ti super, they look fine for the pricing. and then around christmas CPU/MOBO. since intel will release their new gen pretty soon, the prices has to be competitive
they still have select stock at SOME physical locations of Canada Computers and the price has stayed at 565 CAD (401 USD) for ever we never got a huge discount so when american retailers raised their prices Canadian prices became a steal
Hi Jason....I get the whole gaming builds being more popular than productivity builds, but if we want to talk about a balance between both, focusing more on the virtualization side, productivity side....would a 7700x still be a good option against the 7800x3d? I mean, the 7700x will do gaming just fine while providing performance for coding, virtualization, etc....right?
I was telling everyone, even here, to buy those 7800X3Ds over the summer... not prophetic but just have seen these cycles, there is always a shortages right before nthe replacement comes for whatever reason so your options really are to buy right now or wait until the new launch and hope there is availability at launch for either. Love your view on this, hopefully I finally catch a member stream 😅
In online stores like amazon, 7800X3Ds are sold out. And the last remaining pieces are having crazy high prices. Here its about 490 for 7800x3d and 420 for Ryzen 9 7900x3d. Maybe I should buy Ryzen 9 instead. Having those extra cores won't hurt. The more, the better
Hello sir, at almost same price 7800x3d or 7900x3d? if i most use blender & ue 5 and play game in 2k monitor , do you have any advice? I dont wanna step wrong, cz this first time i build, and i already had cooler thermalright peerles asassin 120 mini, do you think it can handle 7800x3d / 7900x3d ? Or i had to change it? Or what brand cooler do you recommended? ❤
My local Microcenter currently shows stock of 7800x3d at 25+. However it's $400.00 and not in any bundle at this time but it does come with 2 free games (Unknown 9 Awakening and Warhammer Space Marine 2.)
I am pretty sure, the prices gone up on 7800x3d because they want to make black Friday price cuts on 7800x3d look insane and make people go nuts and buy them.
Glad I bought mine a few months back for 340$, the 7800x3d has been a dream. Ryzen 5 was/is being held back by garbage windows so I wouldn't say it fell flat, m$ fell flat on this.
I just built a 7800x3d and 4090 machine. I waited for the 9000 series and was very dissapointed. I could have built this machine a year or more ago lol. It's so much more powerful than my 3900x and 3080 rig. Now that said I'm expecting the 5090 to be at least 25% faster and likely will be sold out for 6+ months till I can get my hands on it. My local microcenter offers GPU buyback program and i can get a decent recoupment on my purchase to put towards the 5090. Its kinda like renting the card for a few months xD. Theres no shot the 9800x3d is worth slotting into my machine given the 9700's performance. I'll wait for the 11800x3d lel? see how that goes
@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks it all came together really well. My local costco was even selling a heavily discounted LG C4 48" for 699.97 (usually 1200) so I got a great home theater set up to play 4k 144hz the pc is an absolute beast. I agree with your sentiment to just build now vs waiting it was worth it
4090 has been really solid GPU, mine is paired with 12900KF (kinda wish I had went 7000 series but prices on were good). I have not been to our new Microcenter is 1.5 hours away deep in MIami, would be a day trip, we also have a BestBuy nearby and online retailers. I'm curious how 9800X3D is, maybe will be better both Linux and 24H2, Windows 10 seems to be slightly better LTSC. I'm not in a rush but if a deal comes along I could build again in the next cycle or two, would like to do an X3D next time.
Haha!! Thank you!! We are safe. Could have been a lot worse and we got lucky with where the storm hit and the direction it came from (South West of NOLA, instead of the dreaded SouthEast into NOLA like Katrina).
I was curious if you were gonna mention the 7600X3D at all, what do you think of snagging one of those for $300 at Micro Center? I wish I had bought the 7800X3D a couple weeks ago which I’m really kicking myself for but I wanted to wait and get my CPU last due to Micro Center having a shorter return window on CPUs. 😭 But from what I hear the 7600X3D is 92% as good performance-wise and despite being only 6 cores it’s still one of the best gaming CPUs out there. Glad you & your family made it through the hurricane safely btw.

You can, and AMD is doing better on the CCD issues with the 7900X3D and 7950X3D, but if you are mostly gaming I'd grab the 7800X3D if you can.
Good plan for a lot of reasons, but be prepared to go through a fair amount of settings manipulation to get the 7950X3D to perform properly in gaming.
@rangersmith4652 True. IMO it's pretty easy to configure, it's definitely not plug and play. Once configured it's definitely the fastest gaming CPU.
7800X3D has also been recommended everywhere, 9800X3D should be on the horizon.
3 months ago, went to micro center to buy all my pc parts. They ask me if I was building a pc, I said yes, they knock off $200 from the 7800x3d.
I'm glad I picked up a 7800x3d at $320 3 months at the Micro Center in a cpu, motherboard and ram bundle.
just picked up a 7600X3D today from Micro Center and can't wait to build my computer (still need the motherboard and some RAM though)
I convinced a friend who was building a PC that she should snag a 7800x3d this summer when it was pretty low, right after the Intel story broke. Unfortunately for me, I'm not building my own PC until the holidays, and it looks like I may have missed the boat here.
I was able to build my pc with a microcenter bundle 7800x3d in June for $450 motherboard and ram included . Truly got lucky
So glad I bought my 7800x3D when I did.
I’m still happy with my 5700x3d. Fantastic budget cpu.
What a bummer.... Guess I'll buy all the parts during black Friday and wait until the 9800X3D and the RTX 5080 comes out to finish the new build out
I'm one of the lucky Microcenter 7800X38 bundlers, and I'm feeling like an accidental genius right now😁 I'm on the bay-side of Houston, and we just went through one of those big angry thunderstorms recently too. I still have a hole in my roof that the insurance is being no help with.
It's still available in the UK, should I buy it now or wait for black friday?
Don’t sleep on the local markets. Back when the 7800x3D were $370-390 on Amazon I bought a sealed boxed one for $340. Then a month later a never installed in a sleeve one for $260. And last mid summer a new one in retail box but the seal was cut for $220.
Last AM5 cpu was a new sealed 7600 for $150.
Lots of sellers are overpriced but deals do pop up and you just need to be ready to go snag them instantly.
Selling so much that you run outta stock is a good problem to have
Also there's a question of if 9000 series performs better on 24H2 (it does well on Linux also).
those companies really trained us to pay shit price for gpu/cpu and be happy with that (long live monopoly)
We only have (2) Left at Canada Computers in Gatineau, QC. Canada!!
Wow!
Play-Asia currently has the 7800X3D available for purchase for $406. I feel like that is honestly probably as good as it's going to get until the 9800X3D comes out.
I got my 7800x3d with the Avatar bundle for 320
Nice!
If you're looking for value right now. And you have to have something right that 7700x for $249 is probably you best bet. But I'm wondering if it's going to be on a nice sale on black Friday. The best price I've seen on the 7700x was $244.99.
I struggle with that over the 7600. It doesn't give enough of a boost to justify the price increase in my opinion
I remember a time when the 7800X3D was 329 USD
as soon as you beg me to buy it i ran like the flint stones in to microcenter and i havent regrated yet in fact this review channel is so great that i stopped making bad decisions. even if in the future you wont be 100% accurate i am not delusional to think you would be but this is the next thing to perfect. thank you for your content.
Congrats on the grab!!!
Can't wait what next year will bring :) New gaming processors, new graphic cards :)
Me too!
Bought mine for $390 after tax.. how fkn lucky
Congrats on the pickup!
Anyone else waiting and hoping for this prime day to hit? It’s just 2 more weeks and so many people are still buying overpriced 7800x3d’s
I would be surprised if we see discounts on the m over Prime Day but you never know! And I'm certainly excited for other parts to go on sale (:
I got my 7800X3D on day one. Best CPU I have ever owned!
I build my first PC in march and i wanted to wait for all the new gen stuff. I'm glad i didnt. currently enjoying my 4080 super 7800x3d build
Nice combo you got there!
I picked one up last week with a mobo, ram and M.2 storage. Going all out and nearly got a 4090 but going to hold out till the 5000 series is official released
Didn't realize these had went up so much in price, I remember building two systems with these cous and paying 299 a piece.
I got mine from back order, got confirmation that it'll ship on the 25th.
Nice!
I had the intel i7 12700k which is a pretty good CPU.
Still have the 12700KF & 12900KF from sales last year/so, still pretty good CPU. The 12900KF will raid WoW 0 stutters.
@@MaryannLynch-z9c their good i7 12th gen are really good. I don't have it anymore because I sold that PC, built a new one with the 7800x3d. No stuttering is great, well, enjoy.
I built my pc 4 months ago and the ryzen 7 7800x3d was 330, now its 430 XD. It's super popular right now amazing cpu.
Congrats on your build!
glad i bought my 7800x3d as soon as I saw zen 5 reviews on embargo lift, bought it for 340 euros (insane price in italy)
Good grab!
Waiting and hope 7600x3D selling globally, since they already launch in germany and china.
Last week i saw them around $300 , now sellers got them for $500 plus
Yup. Intel LGA 1700 is basically a no go, and nobody wants overpriced Zen 5. So all that demand on the 7800X3D.
Good grab!
Well I guess I'm pushing back my build to Christmas I guess. One thing I learn from investing, when everyone is in an mania in buying something you stop because the bubble is happening. Guess my i7 4790k and 1080 will have to hold out to until Christmas at the earliest
I would just buy the 4070 ti super, they look fine for the pricing. and then around christmas CPU/MOBO. since intel will release their new gen pretty soon, the prices has to be competitive
they still have select stock at SOME physical locations of Canada Computers and the price has stayed at 565 CAD (401 USD) for ever
we never got a huge discount so when american retailers raised their prices Canadian prices became a steal
Bought myself a 7600x like you recommended and plan on upgrading to whatever AMD has planning around the corner in the future! Thx alot of the help!
Exactly!!! Congrats on the build!!!
Where i live(EU) there is plenty of 7800x3d still. The prices as gone up since June, from DKK (Kroner)to $ by around 400$ to 450$.
Well said! And hope to see you on the stream!
the 9000 is pretty great for mini ITX builds tho.
Jason prefers the 7800X3D and I think that Cooler will be fine. Plus you can always replace it later if it's not the best.
If you can get the 7800X3D that one for sure
Would it be worth getting a 7900x3d instead since its the same price as the 7800x3d right now?
My local Microcenter currently shows stock of 7800x3d at 25+. However it's $400.00 and not in any bundle at this time but it does come with 2 free games (Unknown 9 Awakening and Warhammer Space Marine 2.)
I am pretty sure, the prices gone up on 7800x3d because they want to make black Friday price cuts on 7800x3d look insane and make people go nuts and buy them.
I got a 7800X3D back in January 2024 for $394. I knew back then that I made an excellent choice. Those Ryzen 9000 series are such a FAIL.
Good grab!
7800X3D my MicroCenter in Houston has 24+ instock $399
So lucky!!! We are about 7 hours from Houston Micro Center.
Congrats on the build!!!!! That is an insanely powerful gaming PC that will last you for years!!

Also Jason: How to survive a Tornado.
Seriously though, glad your all ok. Must of been scary.
Haha!!
Ya I just bought mine and it's still on back order. At least I got it for $400 with a couple free games.
