Castles of Burgundy is one of only about a dozen games that I have played more than 3 times. I am always trying new games and have a reputation for not playing a game I've already played, so it's rare to find games I will play again. It's a very fun multi-player game and my fave Feld game. Trajan is probably my second favorite Feld game.
I like this game, you do care about teh other players actions/choices and with tw players reallya race or tug off war. My main issue is that teh small game takes loads off table space. So we alyways tried to place teh cards smarter/over each other etc to save space (out off box teh normal boardgame takes the same or less tablespace than this). The Castles of Burgundy dice game is the travellers variant. Small game, one roll for all players ina write & roll game. More solo though (you don't compete for any resources and can not affect other players actions).

you need to try the board game.. nice and elegant... it doesn't play solitaire at least not on the official rules but multiplayer is a blast.
