My favourite scenes from a hilarious action movie
Enjoy!
Love this man John Wayne is my HERO 💕💕💕💕
Best bar fight scene ever and baldrick pushed into the thames by the duke, fabulous.
I wish they could've made a sequel set possibly in Japan
I'm sure I saw a few Sweeney regulars in that bar scene.
True, including stuntman /actor Nosher Powell, (white jumper, flat cap). I thought they used the "Sweeney jag" that appears in the opening credits & every car chase but its a different reg.
@@gavinreid8937 Also, 1:00 It's the Mayor from Dirty Harry!
@@gavinreid8937 Studying the Minder web site I discovered that they swap plates around mind....
Sad, really sad that Jag.
But it's fun.......
They weren’t worth anything back then( is it a 2+2?) Same as the S type, just old cars to smash up and crash.
dude stick out his gut and takes punch to abs at 2:38 without so much as a grunt... these suited men got fists & balls of steel...
No wonder, he looked like famed stuntman/actor Nosher Powell.
That Barroom Brawl was the Funniest Scene in the movie.🤣
Knock Knock, i wouldn't unless you want to sing soprano rofl love the duke.
Enjoyed the movie years ago when i was a toddler and i still enjoy it now.
Anthony Booth and John Wayne. Couldn't get much more opposite in political ideologies!!
Thanks for the upload. Saw the full movie which is actually average story-wise. But it's always great to see the Duke in action, beating the hell out the bad guys!
Such a good film with such good acting
God bless John Wayne he was the best
Released in 1975 by United Artists Corporation, "BRANNIGAN" was another urbanized John Wayne actioner one year after he made "McQ" for Warner Bros. in 1974. the guy who composed the music for "BRANNIGAN" was the late, great Dominic Frontiere, who was both the composer and associate producer of ABC-TV's "THE OUTER LIMITS" in 1963.
Loved this movie and especially his female British detective partner. She was awesome. Hard to believe that Judy Geeson is 73 years old now.
For the first half of the 1970s, John Wayne was one of the badasses of the decade. He's 68 here but just as agile as ever.
Yep, the Duke was the best. And yep, Judy Geeson was so very pretty, as well as being a very good actress.
I remember seeing this and Big Jake at the drive-in as a kid. Great memories.
Big Jake, my all time favorite Duke film! I have several parts memorized!!
Same here. Loved going to the drive-ins in the 70s.
What did you guys think of the portrayal of Britain? 🙂
Best bar fight since The War Wagon.
*Kicks the door in*
"Knock, knock..."
0:09 Are they talking about Richard Attenborough
1:58 You see, this is why we can't have nice stuff
2:27 More tea vicar?
It was sad seeing the 68 year-old Duke playing a cop in a mediocre movie with a terrible script. John Wayne wasn't a cop....he was America's cowboy! We miss you, Duke!
He was trying to stay in touch with the times by making Dirty Harry Type Cop Movies.
I wondered what an episode of the Sweeney with John Wayne would be like
take all the boring parts out and that's about it!!
The bar lady screaming cracked me up.
I somebody had thrown a chair at her.
Good to see the great Nosher Powell doing the stunts with big John
Before McClane, There was Brannigan. The Duke's #UnitedArtists Finale and Bar Fight Finale. Splendid Classic. LOVE IT, Duke. RIP Legend. Thx The Cowboy Raider for 'Da Share #70sOldSchool #TheActionElite
Como Estas, Lady Kathleen. "Hey, it's Kate here. Corporal, i LOVE the Duke's chemistry with Judy Geeson in Brannigan and headstrong Katharine "Kate" Hepburn R.I.P. 👩🦳 🙏 💕 in Rooster Cogburn (1975) thx Dearie for sharing my take." By the time John Wayne's punches landed i could have ducked twice.
🤣
No shit Tyson ??
i enjoyed the movie back in the day
Through the uprights, mate!!
A Former British Prime Minister's Father In Law. Now recall. Recollect. Tower Bridge not London Bridge.
I like the contract killer Gorman who says nothing, appears from nowhere and shoots with a German machine pistol. Even at the end, he is still out to kill Brannigan when all the other bad guys have been caught. ( Possibly he didn't know or just wanted Brannigan dead).
1:04 "Brannigan!" 😠 John Vernon nails-it. They don't make them like that anymore!
1:34 Half expecting Regan and Carter to come storming in - so many Sweeney faces here.
Great movie ,The Bar fight is hilarious ❤😂😆How do you choreograh a scene like that without being left with stitches 😂
✌🏿😜 VAS-Y JOHN WAYNE
1;28 Brian Glover said John was apprehensive about "hurting" the Tetley tea man, but ex wrestler Brian showed him the move didn't hurt & afterward John joked "Howds it feel to be beaten up by a super patriot."
Brannigan. He made Harry Callahan and Frank Bullitt look like little girls.
Wrongly formatted. Very annoying.
So Dickie Attenborough is a police commander in the Metropolitan Police (a rank analogous to a brigadier general), yet he can't marshal sufficient forces, or force of character, to break up a bar fight? The character he's playing should be retired on grounds of incompetence, he's obviously past it.
At 4:46 how come one of the sections of roadway is ascending twice as fast as the other? In every video of tower bridge opening both roadway sections ascend at the same rate. The tower bridge scene in this film has always seemed really dumb to me. Brannigan managed to 'jump the bridge' two years before Frank Fonzerelli got around to 'jumping the shark'!
I doubt it was to be taken that seriously.
Smashing a Jaguar E ??? It's not my fav sportscar, still, this sounds to me like spitting on a Jezus painting in the Vatican
What? Ffs it’s everyone’s favourite sports car even Enzo Ferrari
Duke wayne⁉️the best👏👏👏
How London changed
"Right hand drive!
-of course!"
02:02 ttt
Does anyone know why John Wayne moved from Westerns, were they going out of fashion at the time?
I could be wrong but I think it was due to the success of Dirty Harry they wanted him to try a couple of cop films hence Brannigan and McQ.
+thenewmodfather I think you are probably right, people getting bored of Westerns and more interest in other genres. Still could not get used to JW without a horse and a stetson.
personally love this film but thought McQ was terrible
+thenewmodfather I must watch Brannigan again then, what was McQ don't remember that at all?
+Vincent 79 a very bad attempt at dirty harry
At 0:38 instant shut the fuck up by way of plank across the skull. You don't mess with the Wayne.
I thought this was better than McQ, but it's not saying much.
I thought the whole movie was the best bit.
That was great, I enjoyed the movie...do you have the kidnap scene? That was the most brilliant kidnapping scene I ever saw.
Yeah,i could upload it if you want
SAW IT INDOORRZ
ja
9 years before Beverly Hills Cop
Or Dempsey & Makepeace
89 years of age! He looked INCREDIBLE
He wasnt 89
No he was 67 but still very agile at the time.
KNOCK KNOCK
