Great implement Tony, the TYM handles it beautifully! Thanks to your advice you gave around 3 years ago at a tractor trade show I bought a TYM 273 compact. I have had it for about 2 years now as I was trying to get back on my feet after a major spinal injury/operation. This tractor has become an integral part of my life and there is no way I could do what I do with out it. I love the machine because it has given me back a lot of independence that I lost prior!
I subscribed #1 because you asked and #2 I think this is a nice looking simple planter and you made it look very easy to set up and get started planting. Thank you for sharing.
I am aware of the concept, but this is new ground. It has tons of organics in it: grass, sticks, and such. I will add sawdust from the sawmill this fall and turn it under. My wife is curing a big pile of chicken poop for me. I want to improve the soil. Still, I think I get carried away. I like to till!
Nice looking planter that will definitely save the back. I’m actually planning cutting back the size of my garden this year. Make sure to get all those seed vacuumed out they are proud of those little suckers. Take care, Ben.
You hit the nail on the head, you really don't know for sure for 10 to 14 days whether you got it set up right. Also, not exactly sure how the seed tubes are on that planter, but with the one and two row planters I've used it's important to not stop moving at the end of the row, just pick up the planter and keep rolling. This keeps any damp soil from plugging the drop tube if you would drift back any when stopping, oh I've had it happen and you don't realize it until you go to switch seed and find a seed tube all jambed up and you have no idea where it started.
It is funny you say that about the GPS. I had to do it the old way and look at a tree at the end of the field. All things said, I will be able to plow my rows.
I have used it now, a few years. Last year I forgot to adjust my seeder back to corn. The last thing I planted was beans. I got three corn seeds per drop. Lesson learned. LOL!
If you have a "load sensing" feature, try that. It will adjust your ground speed automatically based on load. I use it when tilling and you can basically mash the hydro pedal to the floor and the tractor handles the rest
I don’t have cruise control. That’s the only thing I liked about the gear tractors. I could put her in low and hammer down. Now I guess it’s time to call the TYM dealer.
I was hoping you'd show how to get the second pair of rows the correct distance from the first two. Also: Can you now drive through the garden straddling two rows, so you can pull a cultivator between the rows?
I live in northern Pennsylvania and it's very Rocky I don't know if that would work on rocky soil I was thinking of buying one but I don't want to waste my money
You measured from the center of PTO shaft to outside of tire and then chose 32" as the measurement. The angle of the video may have been deceiving but it appeared that the planter was actually planting in or very near the rear tire imprint. Each size tractor will have different tire widths and one has to adjust to what they have and work around it. What was the measurement from seed shoot to seed shoot if one wanted to max out the toolbar, what could be the widest row based on the toolbar? There are many types of ground as it relates to how it compacts but was questioning if the planter would drop seed at a consistent depth if one tried to drop in the rear tractor track due to the lugs leaving an imprint that the plow might not take out.
I planted it so I could plow one row at a time. It is the first time setting one than more planter at a time, so the row are wide. It should be easy to plow or spray.
It sounds like your soil is too wet. This is what I have found that works best. Till your soil. Allow one good rain to pack the soil down. Once the soil is reasonably dry, plant. The planter works better when the soil is not fluffy.
Great video Mr. T!! I have looked around online and talked to tractor supply and I cant find one of these puppies? Everyone is saying they are not available anymore. Do you know of a similar planter that is around the same price? Thanks and keep up the great videos!!
Ive been looking at these cause other comparable planters are double the cost...how was it to set the seed depth and did u check depths after planting?
You said your gonna plant enough corn and beans for the whole county lol it’ll be good if you are a deer hunter cause they definitely love corn and beans lol or turn it into ethanol with gas prices like they are lol 😂 thanks for sharing buddy god bless everyone
Do you know of a corn planter that will help you to plant corn that you don't have to worry about the corn cob? Some people don't have any teeth and can't eat corn from the cob.
Over the last three years I’ve gotten away from beating up the soil into fine particles I’ve been growing better vegetable crops ie sweet corn cauliflower tomatoes onions with once cultivation cover crop buckwheat and building a planter that will open up a furrow to drop seeds plastic cover gets rid of ur weed problem
@@TonysTractorAdventure is there a way to add a 3rd one to the existing one u have? I am an ok welder to fabricate something to fit a 3rd seeder if necessary (thanks for the reply)
You can either buy Dutch modules or canablize two of his and build a new frame. I Designed a 6 roa transplanter a long time ago. The tires may need to be bigger on the multi row systems or just go to a mini multi row air seeder Might want to think about roto spike instead of tiller blades for better long tersoil structure and less fertilizer input?

Awesome video. I have seen these planters advertised but never have seen anyone use them. That’s a lot of corn 🌽. Thank you for sharing
Thank you. I hope all the corn comes up.
Tony, you have Corn and beans, now you need maters, and taters. Maybe some Okra and Squash. That should round it out. Have a blessed day, Sir.
We are going to try beans here, but everything else is at our current house.
Hy Tony I’am glad to see you again
Glad to have you here.
Looking really good. A very nice attachment. Very informative and interesting video. Enjoyed as always. Hank and Gina do a good job too.

Thanks for the sub! I can't wait to plant this year. I have cabin fever.

I think it will make life easier for sure.
You made it look easy. I hope it grows well! God bless!
I hope it grows corn too. I am already in trouble for getting it.

No problem with the drop tube this time. The ground was fairly dry. It really cooled off after we planed. I hope it comes up.
I really like your setup with the tiller and planter. Hope you have great success
Me too! My wife will never let me live it down if it doesn't. 😁
Dude, that is a great piece of kit. I'll wager within 5y this stuff, and the smaller tractors, will come with isobus and GPS automation.

Hey Tony great review on the new planter, seems to work good for you.
When you going to do a video on the new trailer??
I will do a video on the trailer after getting a few more miles on it.
I think I will just take some soft leather sew some elastic bands around it then place those over the top of the seed buckets. Or bungee cord.
Simple is always better
Would be nice if they had side dressers on it
It would be nice, but it is so small, I just run through my right tire track with my left tire for my next run.
I was hoping you'd show how to get the second pair of rows the correct distance from the first two. Also: Can you now drive through the garden straddling two rows, so you can pull a cultivator between the rows?
I planted it to straddle one row at a time using the cultivator. I used the dirt marks from the tire as a guide.
I live in northern Pennsylvania and it's very Rocky I don't know if that would work on rocky soil I was thinking of buying one but I don't want to waste my money
Two things I cannot recommend. Mowing rocks are planting seeds on rocks. 😁
Very nice planter and works really well! 👍👍👍 Question: Can you get this in colors to match your tractor? Thanks for sharing Tony!
I think it only comes in one color. I am waiting to see if the corn comes up. I am excited!
Women's rain/ shower cap might work well for a cap
That is an excellent idea.

Okay just found your channel !!
What is the latest on the two row corn and bean planter ?
It works three seasons later. I am happy with it.

Off to find the video of cultivating! The video looked like it was planting on or right at the tires to me as well!
Is there a cultivator that goes along with this spacing? Ours doesn’t have a placement for between the rows.
What you see is what you get.
Why not a cole planter so you can fertilize and plant in one pass?
Enjoyed the video as always.
Cost mainly, and I spray fertilizer now. I hope it grows!
Good tip on tilling. Tks. Have you done a 50hr service video yet on the T25?
Video came out today!
Awsome tks. 👍👍👍
I found the pulley wheels behind where the seeds come out create a soil jam don’t work good. Am I doing something wrong?
It sounds like your soil is too wet. This is what I have found that works best. Till your soil. Allow one good rain to pack the soil down. Once the soil is reasonably dry, plant. The planter works better when the soil is not fluffy.

Maybe try Northern tool. I thought I saw it for sale there the other day.
Would the planter open up wide enough for pumpkin seeds.
I am not sure. I would like to think so.
Don’t you have a 3-D printer? You could easily make caps for the top and then I think it broke you can easily just print them.
Interesting reason to buy a printer! You think my wife will go for it? 😁
👍
Add some paddles to the wheels if it's a sinking.
I fluffed the ground to much. It worked perfectly in the other garden. This means lest work next year.
Ive been looking at these cause other comparable planters are double the cost...how was it to set the seed depth and did u check depths after planting?
The plant tubes can be raised or lower as needed. I did check the depth and it was good. Most seeds are very forgiving anyway.

Moonshine, my friend. Moonshine!
Think this will do pumpkin seed?
I think it would work.
Will this planter work with other seeds
It should work with most medium to large seeds.
What about fertilizer u just throw on top of rows
Spray fertilizer. Video coming soon. It has rained us out. Two more days of rain coming. Normal TN weather.
Too bad its made in china...... After a years use..how do you like it...I'm looking for options and this is one of them. Thanks!
To this point it has worked flawlessly. This will be my third year planting with it. I keep it out of the weather and I grease it each year.
@@TonysTractorAdventure Thats good to know!
Mr TONY VERY SIMPLE NICE HOW MUCH THIS
Thank you. I left a link in the description. I am not sure on the price right now.
Where to get planter?
We bought it at tractor supply
Have you tried it with anything besides corn?
I did beans.
Tony, so after 2 years of using the planter what is your honest opinion on it's performance and durability?
It works perfectly. It doesn't like to plant on fluffy dirt. I now till the dirt and let it be rained on once. It does a fabulous job.
@@TonysTractorAdventure Thank you for your speedy reply. Now I will see about getting one myself.
Am in Uganda.
How much is the planter and how can I get it here in Uganda
I have no idea. Sorry
Do you know of a corn planter that will help you to plant corn that you don't have to worry about the corn cob? Some people don't have any teeth and can't eat corn from the cob.
Do you have the planters about 30 inches apart?
I went over the spacing in the video.
Del Monte sells a version for cob less corn. Heck fire, I think with a few tweeks you could even make it work for those that don't chew!
Did it grow well?
Not at all. We had the worst drought in ten years. The planter did well and the corn came up. Just no rain.
Ok, how do you keep the deer out?
Ultrasonic deer repellent.
Is there a planter with 3 or 4 rows?
I only have seen this two row planter
@@TonysTractorAdventure is there a way to add a 3rd one to the existing one u have? I am an ok welder to fabricate something to fit a 3rd seeder if necessary (thanks for the reply)
