  • Song written by Ange Boxall.
    Animation by ‪@liamakro9077‬
The animation was made by 15-year-old Hobart student, Lia Makro, using the digital illustration app Procreate.
Track produced by Paul McKercher, Pete Cornelius and Ange Boxall.
Recorded at The Elephant Room, East Coast Tasmania.
Engineered by Jed Pickett and Pete Cornelius.
    Mixed by Paul McKercher.
Mastered by William Bowden at King Willy Sound.
‘Bismarck to Berlin’ is a nod to Ange’s German ancestors who immigrated to Tasmania in the 1870’s.
It is a fictional and whimsical song of two people having fun and taking a risk by spontaneously taking off in a hot air balloon.
They travel from the German-settled Tasmanian town situated behind kunanyi/Mt Wellington once named Bismarck but renamed Collinsvale during World War 1, to Berlin.
They blow kisses, they paint the earth in rainbows, and pretend to be astronauts and a king & queen. They dance through the night in a 1980’s Berlin scene until they must return once again to another time and place…
