Nice to see this video. I have an ‘05 1500 Hemi with 72k original miles , bought it with 28 mi on it. Has treated me so very well and no major mechanical(except recalled parts ) issues throughout the years. Take care and stay safe out there!
I got an 05 as well but mine has a 4.7 it has 186k miles and still runs like a dream my grandpa bought it brand new in 04 and I bought it off him last year and the trucks never had a single issue besides recalls and the oil pressure sensors going bad and it doesn’t even have the 4.7 tick from the timing chain tensioner but if it ever starts to get it as soon as I get the chance it’s commin apart and I’ll put new timing chains and tensioners on it and surprisingly it has little to no rust the only rust on the truck is a little on the doors on themselves but it isn’t visible unless the doors open and the front bottom of the bed on the passenger side is starting to bubble up but I’ve seen a kit to put fiberglass bedsides on then but idk about putting fiberglass bedsides on a truck that I daily drive and haul stuff in
Cool to see a walk through! I'm actually going backwards from a 2007 front end to the earlier one. Modern truck comforts, newer engine with the updated manual trans but closer to the original ram styling IMO. The front end you put on the Dodge was actually borrowed from the UK Sterling Trucks program. It was on Euro Sterling vans too. Its next to impossible to find Sterling parts now.
This is the video that I've been looking for cuz I would like to do this to my new 2nd gen I just got for my channel. New supporter to help support the growth
Thanks for the video I was literally just thinking about if I could take the front end from a hemi and pit it on my 04 cummins I was actually looking for a 4th gen bumper on a 3rd gen video because I just bought a 4th gen bumper and wanted to know if I can use the stock mounts off the 3rd gen to put it in and I found this video
So it was all completely bolt on? I have a 051500 5.7L that is working on getting a 12v put into her, figure i might as well do the front end conversion while she's down.
So, if I'm not wrong, to swap the front (if you have a early 3rd gen) is just the fenders, the front lights, the front grill and the upper bumper, correct?
I hear you got my 05 on memorial day in 2005 didn't know the 06 which came out couple of months later had changed first I was mad that I didn't have the latest and my truck was already old than I saw the 06 and thought it was ugly the front end and the tail lights
been there done it, you need the cab wiring harness if you have a 04 you need a 03-05 cab wiring harness with the same airbags options and belts you cant use a 06 wiring with an 04, you could but you would need to change the whole underdash wiring and modules, wich is a pain, in 06 they switched to Can bus system thats why

Good job young brother.
Bro so I’m trying to do this do I need a whole 06 to 08 bumper or do I just need 06 to 08 bumper cover
Did you ever wire up the new power doors? I’m not a fan of my manual doors and would love a video on how to do that.
The truck sold before I got a chance
Did you.have to change the doors
Nope!
I'm putting a 04 on my 07 today haha
How did it turn out
Are doors and hood that light, or is this guy just that strong?
Thanks lmaoo

Yesir
Are the hoods the same from the early gen vs the older gen?
Just the grills are different
So, if I'm not wrong, to swap the front (if you have a early 3rd gen) is just the fenders, the front lights, the front grill and the upper bumper, correct?
Fenders, headlights, headlights pigtails, grill, and bumper/bumper cover.
Did you need to use any brackets? And is the headlight wiring replacement a must?
No brackets. Wiring is a must. Different style.
Dammit man it was time for sure that thing was eaten up with rust!
Is the grill and hood nessisary for this ? Or can u just do the fenders and headlights ?
Need grill, fenders, headlights, headlight harness.
@@30tman thanks !! Gonna look into these parts do uk of the 1500 parts are the same as the 2500 ?
@@michaelengelhardt5296 yes

Why would you put the ugly ass 06 to 08 front end on that beautiful 02 to 05 rounded front end
With the right headlights them 06-08 front ends look so good I wish I could show you on here but I can’t

Will the 2018 front end work on a 3rd gen?
Did u find ur answer?
Would you happen to know if the seats are the same thing?
What do you mean?
@@30tman sorry i meant, if you knew wether the seats also swap right in.
@@MosaicArtizt yes they will
What grill are you using?
Late 3rd Gen sport
To do the front end conversion do u really have to to all the doors or can it be just the front end ??? Sorry this is my gf ty
malinda sanchez no you don’t have to change the doors
Getting rid of the tow hooks? Ill take them
They stayed on the truck
Are the door conversion plug right in and work or more wiring
Kenniedey Lewis the speaker plugs are there but for the power options you need the chassis side plugs/wiring or to wire up your own ignition power.

Will 06 fenders and hood fit a 02 Dodge Ram
If it’s a 3rd Gen not a late 2nd gen (3/4 or 1 ton)
@itsjustAproject my truck looks like yours 3 gen but it’s an 02 so I’m assuming it can still fit
@@alvarezgomez1057 correct
Did everything bolt up
Yes
you put the ugly headlights on the good looking older model? wtf xD
Can I do it to and 04 dodge
Yes
How much was the parts ?
I think I spent $1200 on the fenders, grill, hood, box, lights, 4 doors, gate, bumper if I remember correctly
@@30tman okay thinking about swapping my 03. Did you.go to the Junkyard to get the parts
