I can't wait to see the finished piece. You go, girl, with the mixed media pieces! 🤗💖. And yes, cranny is used in certain circumstances. Arborists use it to describe bugs and other pests that burrow into the crannies (or small tight spaces) between the bark folds. Thanks as always for your videos and inspiration!

Cant wait to see the final result. Love that color as a base. I see browns, rust, terracotta, brick red over that buttermilk for the aged wall effect. The vines/stones remind me of walls throughout Italy! You've given me a ton of inspiration for a journal page. Love your humor as well. Creating should be fun & just embrace the "happy accidents". Not into mixed media really, but you are so fun to watch. ! Well what can I say ? Oh I know....Cranny.... Small narrow opening in something solid, a small slit or break, a crevice, an out-of-the-way obscure corner or place. You know, its that " safe-place " you put something important & now you will never find it again. Keep creating your laughter is like medicine sometimes it makes you feel better.... Sometimes not. But always an adventure to find out! Cant wait til Next!

Well I am fascinated watching you work. Knowing I would be wearing deli paper, glue, paint etc from head to toe by now! (should I say in every cranny? lol) But listening to you is by far the most entertaining part. You are a stitch! Can’t wait for part 2😊

I enjoyed this video a lot, I love hearing you laugh. I do mostly mixed media, so I am excited to see how beautiful your first one comes out. I was thinking that you should have added the deli paper first, just as you explained why you did not. :) I loved just the leaves on the heart too!
I became intrigued by mixed media a couple of years ago and for awhile that was all I did. I still love it and try to do a couple pieces a week. I have stopped making traditional scrapbooking pages and moved to mostly mixed media scrapbooking. My family doesn't get it and can't understand why I stack things on and colour and mist and add torn paper, etc. That was really why I started the mixed media scrapbooking because cards, art pieces, off the page pieces started to pile up since my family didn't get it I wasn't going to send them pieces. Anyway, glad to see you trying this out and I look forward to seeing this piece when it is done. That is the other thing about mixed media. When is it done? I always want to add just one more thing! Love to listen to you create and your laugh is totally addictive.

I have a question about modeling paste. Is it interchangeable with gesso? I purchased gesso from an art supply store because I watched videos from mixed media artists who all used it, and it is not chesp. Is modeling paste cheaper?
Gesso is similar in texure to the modeling paste you are using (actually it is somewhat thicker and fluffier). But when I went online to research gesso versus modeling paste, mixed media artists who use both described gesso as being watery. (I am wondering if that is what the art store sold to me as acrylic medium.) Anyway, it appears they purchased their gesso from a different supplier and that in addition to being watery, their gesso came in an array of colors, while mine (that used for priming canvas) only comes in white.
So, I was wondering what the difference is especially in terms of price. If modeling paste works just as well as gesso and it's cheaper, than hey, I am all all about that lol.
