This is probably the easiest to understand video I have ever seen. Everything is explained clearly and simply without any BS. Nicely made! The music was a bit dramatic and unnecessary
Can the inertial separator affect fuel consumption? Or should I write Microsoft another angry letter because the fuel use in MFS 2020 is completely off?
Just curious why you wouldn’t add a screen to eliminate some of the larger particles from entering the engine and also a preheat for the air to prevent ice. Seems like an obvious solution. You could actually use a heated screen to solve both issues.
I would imagine they don't add the screen because it kills airflow and thus performance, and doesn't allow for optimum cooling, therefore a system that can be utilized only when necessary isn't ideal.
Adding a screen in front of intakes for turbines and turbofans has been proposed before, but it’s been rejected in part due to the catastrophic damage that would occur should the screen break and get sucked in itself.
80''s nighclub bass intro, followed by elevator music straight from your local department store, and combined with voice overs that were recorded in someones closet.I know it was 2015 at the time, but c'mon Daher, you can do better than that!
Not exactly 80s sound, but that doesn't matter. What bothers me more is that it's not looped properly. The entire audio portion of the video is odd. I wonder why add music at all. The explanation and the animation was very useful
Why is this video so dramatic? The music and all, almost made me cry. Great explanation, thank you.
If you get FOD in your engine you will cry so it is appropriate
Because general aviation is the most dangerous mode of transportation per hour of use. Execs fall from the sky daily in their small private planes.

That's pretty cool. Kinda like adding heat to the carbs on a small plane with reciprocating engine...

Its a bit like a mass spectrometer, where heavier particles cant make the turn.
The rear linkage looks like a robotic duck. A duck that opens the ducts!
So keep it on in almost all conditions?
Well. Take offs landing. All but clear weather obviously.
I want a TBM930 so bad

Would it somehow be possible to adapt this mechanism to a directly ducted engine like a turbofan?
