She was Marie Fredriksson, she was born in Sweden the 30th May, 1958. Sadly, after 17 years fighting against brain cancer, Marie passed away (09/12/2019). She sang in Roxette but also she had an interesting career in Swedish as a solo artist.
RIP Marie! ❤ Roxette, the second big band in Sweden after ABBA. I recommend "Listen to your heart" live at Bornholm Caste, Öland and also her solo production, she´s amazing!
It was actually a Cristmas song that they released 3 years before, they just changed the lyrics of Cristmas Day to Winter day so that it could be used in the film. Link to the original ua-cam.com/video/DTWkixs3pXc/v-deo.html
Where I come from, nobody knows, where I’m going. Everything goes, the wind blows, the sea flows, and only God knows. RIP Marie. You battled courageously and live on forever in your music.
This was from a Spanish Promo concert in a club, for the Room Service Album (if memory serves). Which is why she modulated her voice to be softer than the booming and high notes she could express in full stadiums, concert halls/arenas, better version would have been from the Joyride Tour, or even the Unplugged concert.
It was actually written by the male half of the duo, Per Gessle. In fact he wrote the vast majority of their songs. Although Marie was a fantastic songwriter herself. It's great you reacted to a live version, but you do miss out on the full range of her vocals from the studio version.
This was their 3rd Billboard Hot100 number 1. In case you didn’t know. They rewrote their original lyrics to remove the Christmas reference from their first release back in 1987. It hit no 1 In 1990.
Did you know that this melody was originally intended as a Christmas carol? Named - Christmas For The Broken Hearted (1987) which was a newly composed Christmas carol in Sweden. ua-cam.com/video/xwFN1Op5C1Y/v-deo.html which is a song that Roxette did before they rewrote it when a movie producer wanted a tune for a movie that had the working title like "1000 Dollar Girl" and the rest is history
If you enjoy live concerts and audience participation, I recommend Sabaton, En livstid i krig, 2019 from Gothenburg. Cc is a must for those who don't speak Swedish.
If all these vids you do on first time hearing.. man you were living under a rock or something as a child... this one I can maybe understand but snoops ain't no fun? Holy shit. 😅😅
You're really listening to any song now. Shit if we're doing any song listen to Rico's story the trilogy, it's a genuinely interesting story from one lost too soon.
Such a brilliant song and singer. Such a shame you went with a live version instead of the studio version or official video. Unless it's Journey....you NEVER go with a live version.
American mo*on this is biggest song from 90',from cult movie Pretty Woman, with Richard Girl and Julia Roberts, I never seen more ignorent poeple who don't know nothing about there own culture
Biggest song from the 90s ..... cult Movie ..... yeah maybe you shouldn't talk about people being Ignorant. Julie Robert's received Oscar Nominations for Best Actress.... 4th Highest Grossing film of all time ! Currently still Disney's highest Grossing R Rated film of all time . Deadpool vs Wolverine will probably break that ! Biggest song of the 90s was kinda a tie between Elton John's Candle in the Wind and Nirvana' s Teen Spirit ...... This Roxette song didn't even come out in the 90s .... 1987 ! Maybe stop insulting people and talking crap about people not knowing anything...... when clearly you have a lot to learn yourself !

You might want to learn about grammar before calling someone ignorant. Just saying...
