This was the best concert I have ever been to. I got the tickets given to me by a co-worker. 18 years later still jamming out! Thank you Jimmy Eat World!
I wish Tom did them on the records instead of Jim doing all his own backing vocals. Their voices contrast amazingly well and it doesn't really get showcased anywhere other than live shows
Long story short.. One of the best bands I ever heard. I started listening to them in the late 1990's thanks to a friend turning me onto them. I ended up moving to Arizona in 2000 for recording school and saw them in small clubs like the Big Fish Pub and Anita's Hideaway.. I got to meet them and hang out with them in their small silver trailer. Thought of them as rock Gods only to find out they were just everyday people like you and me. Then their promoter dropped off some singles from Bleed American at the cafe I worked at which I grabbed. Fallowing another show shortly after where they filmed for a video I ended up being in. What a great record and tour. And then about three years later I was going to see them open up for Green Day in a sold out stadium of over 10,000 people. Just crazy to see them blow up. And then Futures fallowed and again what another amazing record that was. Can't believe its been 20 years but I still listen to them today. One of the best bands ever.

Tyler Davis it wasn’t true Jimmy fans. I got to stay fit the after party (won VIP tickets). All preppy dudes & girls that only got into Jimmy in 2001 because of MTV. But they did do a good show.
I got into Jimmy like in 2006 I was bored with all the punk crap I was listening all messed on drugs and one day I was packing up the house and I found bleed American and it changed my life. My friend died of cancer and I got me a peacock tattoo from chase this light. The best band ever.
Nevermind, I checked the setlist online...yeahh I don't miss not having that one song, lol. Overrrrrplayed. On the upside, whenever i see them live, bc they play that song last, I always beat the crowd to the street cos I leave as it starts up
My Band "3 Day Funk" played there years ago. We opened up for 3rd Eye Blind about 1 year before anyone on the east coast knew who they were. I bought their 1st CD out of the trunk of their car!
I saw them in Asbury NJ a few days after this video. I couldn't believe the quality of sound , singing, and effort of each member. Everything was perfection, even better than early Coldplay shows (and they're dam good live). The Deftones (my favorite) is sloppy and lazy by comparison and not worth the money for a show.
Whoever mixed this show should get a raise
Ah, the good ol' days, when a set comprised tons of songs from Clarity.
This was the best concert I have ever been to. I got the tickets given to me by a co-worker. 18 years later still jamming out! Thank you Jimmy Eat World!
Best band ever. Jim is so intense in concert.
Same here!
Thank your co worker
Tom is so underated..he is a great guitar player but a even better singer
He's so great at harmony too.
It's a shame he instantly stopped singing. His songs on static prevails and clarity had massive power. There would have been more great songs to come.
@@albernererhelge I always wonder if Tom felt bad when Jim took over vocals full time
@@kurdtjohn It was Tom’s decision to stop leading on vocals. He wanted to focus more on guitar work.
@@kurdtjohn Nah, we would’ve been able to tell in their interactions. They’re good 🙂
Wow even the clarity songs here are like "what if clarity was in the style of bleed american"
If You Don't, Don't is the greatest song ever written!
Not sure about that on mate. Although it was my song to go for two whole years, I freaking love it to the bone
Amen
Creating infectious melody over a few chords is what makes this beautiful music.
My favorite part of the song is the sound.
Best performance of Blister I've seen.
Shit is so good, Tom crushed it
He kinda sounds like J from Jawbox here
Those harmonies are killer
I wish Tom did them on the records instead of Jim doing all his own backing vocals. Their voices contrast amazingly well and it doesn't really get showcased anywhere other than live shows

All songs you wouldn't hear on a concert today... Even though sweetness and the middle were already released
00:00 A Praise Chorus
03:52 If You Don't, Don't
08:25 Just Watch The Fireworks
15:05 For Me This Is Heaven
19:28 The Authority Song
23:31 No Sensitivity
27:12 Get It Faster
31:04 Goodbye Sky Harbor
36:10 Blister
Thanks, dude

A Praise Chorus will always hold a special place in my heart. Such a great song and brings back great memories.
That zoom out right at the start of crimson and clover though! kickstart my rock n roll heart
All the nods to other songs in that part are so great. Madness, Motley Crue etc..
Some GOATs of my life’s musical discovery.
Tom is pure...gotta love it. Jim is the glitter paint....Tom is the canvas
You know it’s a good show when Jim starts the show in a cotton button up shirt and ends in a satin one
they played 9:30 two nights back to back for this DVD, i think i was at the satin shirt one
@@mike999ekimI thought it was a joke about how sweaty Jim gets that his shirt fabric looks like it changes
I love Jim's LP with the mini buckers.
I was here for this show.

@@Amazin-ji8sn but then a many of the fans of Jimmy today are because of Bleed American so there's that.
aditya anshul I get that. It was the pop punk trend from 99-2005. But it was such a mixed crowd. Still had a good time.
Saw them during the 2002 tour in Houston and they were fantastic love JEW!
I’m 30 and this band still gets me in my feelings. For you, Brandy, with my whole heart. 💜
30:05 that death growl caught me offguard. 😆😆
Ahahhhah
I like that one guy who really but REALLY, wanted to hear Call it in the air!
I was there. I WAS THERE.
Love this set I listen to it once a week atleast thankyou so much for uploading
Wow, they REALLY pull of "Fireworks" without all the extra instrumentation...kind of shocked, to be honest
even today, this is most of their best stuff.

The best band ever.
thanks!
if you aint sweating as bad as Jim, you aint doin it right.
Ben Afleck on drums 😄
Nice!
@30:06 wish jim kept up with those heavy vocals
It sure don't take long for Jim to be pouring sweat
Me thinks maybe Jimmy may be a little underated as a guitar player,
:D
he reminds of jeff buckley, the way he looks and moves, his glance. Must be for their same horoscope: Scorpio sun Aquarius moon ;D
Look into Cognitive Type
Now I have to Google who the hell is Jeff Buckley
Oh that dude
Where did the chorus go?
Jew is so underrated. In a way I'm glad they never really went mainstream like a lot of bands did.
Just don't make them like this anymore
That shirt is a goner.
What was the 3rd removed song??
Nevermind, I checked the setlist online...yeahh I don't miss not having that one song, lol. Overrrrrplayed. On the upside, whenever i see them live, bc they play that song last, I always beat the crowd to the street cos I leave as it starts up
What's getting played at first?
I'm gonna cast my screen the loading is so shitty.

I bought their 1st CD out of the trunk of their car!
thats fucking rad, man! 🤘
So awesome hearing Tom singer blister, what a song and performance

Yes I was at that 2002 show in Asbury NJ!! Killer set, played with Conor oberst and the Promise ring..
thanks!
