- In this scene King George defines the importance of Monarchy to his spoilt selfish brat of a son prince Edward. Who abandoned his country and family just 10 months after becoming king for a horse faced American social climber. A few months later he would visit Nazi Germany and visit Adolf Hitler at a time when hundreds and thousands of Jews where being killed and tortured by his army.
Shame queen Elizabeth has allowed her son and grandson tarnish the monarchy with trash. Only William and Catherine can save the monarchy!
Oh have a day off
From which series is this clip?
they did a real good job casting this! Edward and George look like real brothers.
The actor portraying George V did not remotely resemble the actual person. As usual.
George V was truly a great Monarch from the golden age of Monarchy. So much of what he says here has sadly come true. Media intrusion has destroyed the magic.
Is that why he let his cousin and his family die in Yekaterinburg on July 17th 1918?
@@theofficialphoenixtv5765 Due to the unrest in the UK he did so to save his own wife & children from a similar fate.
I love this! So true! It looks as if King George V inherited his values and preservation of ritual from his grandfather Prince Albert and his grandmother Queen Victoria.
Wow can’t believe that this old man which is a bit too chubby is portraying George V, grandson of Queen Victoria.
David was always a boy.
From outside the world of Europe, George V was considered the prime example of a gentleman and a good King. Other examples of "being a gentleman" were George VI [for a time] and Prince Philip. This video is unduly harsh in its presentation of George V.
Yes, acting is excellent.
The actor portraying George V doesn't resemble him, as is usual in casting. But that aside, that king was an ignorant bully who didn't read, and loved to slaughter animals. His treatment of his sons left them damaged as adults. George VI's stutter was no accident.
We must not forget who Geroge V's father was. The great Edward VII. Quite an odd person to be a role model of an ideal father.
Monarchy IS magic! Not to mention, proper behavior!
No republic can match that! Well, depends on the republic, but most cannot!
None can; probably the closest is the USA. The same government, a constitutional republic since the late 18th century.
@@laralarah2236 I agree, this is why America must be kept in the same form as it has been established as since 1776.
You imperial monarchists will be begging for application to be our 51st state before it ends if this is a just world. Republics now! Republics forever!
I do appreciate your use of "most" however.
King George V is such unsympathetic man to his sons!!
