JJ Jones i am not sure what the hp difference would be between vortecs vs the trick flow 195 . If I was to take a guess on my particular motor I would say possibly 20hp . My trick flows are out of the box . I am running a air gap intake, Edelbrock 750 carb , Edelbrock rpm flat tappet cam . I’m using a dome piston and at 11.7 compression. I run it on av gas. It’s 355 ci and in 2700 lb car . The car runs 11.0 at 123 mph on straight motor no power adders . I have plenty of pics of car and motor build and videos of it at track . I built the car on a very tight budget mostly out of spare parts .
JJ Jones I will tell you this . I was running 11.8 at 115 with a set of nicely ported l98 aluminum heads with 202 valves . My motor did have blow by due to a lot of piston to bore clearance. I freshened the bottom end up with proper piston to bore clearance and installed the trick flow super 23 heads . I did mill heads 040 . My next outing at track with new combo was 11.0 at 122
I bought a set of Promaxx 185cc heads for my 350 at Summit, $880 for both heads complete and they were perfect. Motor makes tons more power than it did with the stock 882 gm heads. All the big name brand heads you are paying 50% more just for the name..
Cool, you're lucky to live by summit. Up here in Seattle we used to have super shops. I have some trick flow 240s for my big block mopar 471 stroker on the way this week.
Hey bro I like trickflow heads too but their only line that are top notch are the LS line up. AFR is clearly superior for SBC and BBC engines. If you check out the tests the afr consistently make more power and torque with a lower port volume.
Trick flow makes a very nice set of Heads. On my 327 I’m going with a set of edelbrock performer rpm Heads just because of the fact that it is going to be a high revenge engine. (Peak 6800-7000rpm). That 350 will be a screamer also lol
Ive never used trickflow heads before but i bought a set from brodix and i couldnt be happier! 200cc intake runners and 64cc chambers. $1000 for the pair you cant beat it. Although, I may have to try trickflow one day.
I almost forgot make sure you have these vacuum tested asap before putting them on your vehicle. I'm not hating just word of caution because they sometimes leak brand new. Check out Ellison empire on Utube a master builder with new head's straight out the box and leaking. Blessings

It seems as thought everyone who’s a Chevy Guy is also a mopar Guy!!! Just look at every other youtuber like streetspeed717 (owned a hellcat but has corvettes) and RPproductions who has had a few of both sides!!!
