- In this video we test 4 different broadheads that we are looking at hunting with. We test the QAD Exodus, Iron Will s125, Day-Six Evo, & Annihilator. To supplement the video there is a written article that dives into each head more. Click the link below to go to the article.

Iron will Single bevel here, love them one tough head
without a doubt (IMO) the Daysix is the best broadhead here, don't let the water bag test make you think different. They are S30v so they are very hard and don't rust. Also they are very easy to sharpen, no tanto tip like the iron will or weird angles. I've been shooting them for a few years, very good head. Watch those annihilators, they are a big cupped head that catch bone and deflect. They leave a great hole but your less likely to pass through or exit where you started your shot. Just my opinion, try them both like I did.
Maybe it's my lower experience but I've not understood how a passthrough is better than a heavier bleed out?
@@jonathangarzon2798 bleed out works best when there isn’t an arrow plugging the hole and slowing blood loss. If you get a full pass, you now have tow drain holes. The only thing that will slow the deer down is blood loss.
@@00_ELECTRICWIZARD_00 so why does big game hunting rely entirely on larger heads? I don't understand
@@jonathangarzon2798 if your talking elk sized big game, more grain weight will give you better penetration. I shoot a 500 grain set up for deer and I find it to be perfect. I know elk guys who shoot 650+. As far as head size, I shoot tiny heads. Tooth of the arrow, they work great
I’m not knocking any of them but you can’t shoot 4 arrows in the softest part of target then one way high and compare. The QAD shot deep where the other ones did. That arrow next to it didn’t help it.. just my opinion
Thank you.
I like the qad exodus. Tough broadhead for the price
Totally
I feel the annihilator started out favored. The smile when you first mentioned it let me know which one was going to take too spot
Prior to this video the only broadhead we have killed animals with was the QAD Exodus. I was hoping for good results and they have since proven themselves in the field. Thanks for watching.
@@SOULSEEKERSNATIONmaybe have a fixed setup for shooting to increase accuracy for the bleed test
@@jonathangarzon2798 thanks for the idea.
The ones i paid $130 for 3 are the best, me no care what anyone say
Very nice!
Problem we saw during season with annihilater was a serious deflection issue off the ribs on a slightly quartering away shot. Hit was perfect, just behind crease of the shoulder. Tracked bull four days plus at a crawl. Nickel or dime size blood drops, at best. If perfectly broadside may have been very different story. Only explanation is the head never entered the chest cavity. Had same thing happen once before with a four blade Wackem on a follow-up shot. Luckily first shot did the job. Found second arrow slid along ribs up under the shoulder. Have to believe same thing happened with the Annilator.
Hard to say.
Could've been better controlled tests if they each water bag had a mark with the same amount of water, the metal wasn't corrugated, and he target wasn't so shot up in certain areas (a fully consistent media)
thanks
@@SOULSEEKERSNATION it's probably fun making these vids! I hope there's another
Great video, thanks a ton! That corrugated was even stronger than aluminum, its galvanized steel.
Thank you
you've mixed up the Iron will and the Day six Evo at the end of the video (5.22)
Yup, caught that after the fact. Sorry.
So 2 years later… I got the annihilators, wanting to use them this year. But I’m hearing a lot of people saying it doesn’t create a good blood trail. Opinions??
We haven’t had any issues with ours.
Annihilators are beast, been curious about testing the iron wills on our Broadhead test series
Nice! We’ll have to check out your stuff.
Washington Backcountry thanks man I’m subbing now and will be checking yours out now!
Ok, looks like Wenatchee, Cashmere or E burg... Am I close?
Sedro Wooley actually.
@@SOULSEEKERSNATION whaaaat, West side? Me too 👍🏻
I'm shooting Annihilators this year, under 50 yards they group great. 70 yards they really start to open up, i can shoot field points in 3 inch group at 70 but the annihilators were closer to 9 inch group. Wish there were more long distant test with them.
That is in the works. However I shot my cow elk at 70 with Annihilators this year and it did the trick.
@@SOULSEEKERSNATION I'm guessing you used the 125 grain heads. I might try them instead of the 100's this year. What was your draw weight set at?
Yup, 125's with 70lb draw.
3" groups at 70 yards? I doubt it.
Nice review mate you should do a review on Australian broadheads
Is that the brand name? Or is there a certain type?
@@SOULSEEKERSNATION sorry I mean Australian made broadheads
I’ll take a look and see what we can do. 👊🏽
@@JohnLee-vj9lh any specific brand(s)? I am interested in seeing that as well.
Great video! Thanks guys!
Thanks for watching!
I shoot the Annihilator 125 xl 😊 nothing compares
Love it. Do you do a helical twist?
@@SOULSEEKERSNATION left helical, yep
The Exodus is tried and true!
It is a great head and I have had good success with it.
I get metal and lead in any old buck I kill in pa just from surviving bullets! Lol
Great job fellas!
Thanks!
That would have been a perfect demo if u would have not included the QAD & had a Valkyrie Jagger or short Jag instead. I believe it would match up to that Annihilator which got my attention when it came out. However when choosing between high quality heads from Australia or the US it's a no-brainer when all things r equal & u r just splitting hairs.
Great video!
Thank you! 🙏🏽
The next time I go hunting on a construction site I will remember the broadhead test. If you really want to show a true broadhead test.... how about shooting them through actually meat and bone.... isn't that what the animals made of that your hunting??
Exactly. These tests are retarded
There's always one🤦🤡
Personally bought the anhialators and hated them! Fantastic flight and endurance! Sharp! No blood trail or power. 31 inch draw 75 pound vertix. shot a cow elk in the ribs 4 times. Took a full day and tracking and it was ultimately one of the worst broadheads ever
I'm sorry to hear that. What angle of shot did you take? I shot a cow elk at 70 yards this year quartering away with a 31.5" draw and 70lb draw, but with the angle of the shot I didn't get much blood at all (typical for any broadhead at that angle) but I was able to recover the elk about 200 yds away.
What’s your arrow setup and FOC?
Punch that trigger before an escape!
Good to know
You did that wrong. Grouped them too close together. Not a valid test
Thanks for your input.
Horrible test
