I 100% understand the last guy's frustration, I always keep an eye on where my team is before I make a big move, i always try to keep inside my support's LOS and when I'm about to flank I always try to sync my attacks with my team to confuse the enemy, which is why i get so annoyed whe after making sure my team has my back, I make a move and then suddenly all of them die to.... Something, or they just give up the engagement and I am suddenly all alone, and I'm left in the respaws screen wondering how the fuck did everyone disappear in a fraction of a second? Why the fuck was I the only one making an engagement?
For everyone that missed it: just because a hero is "bad" in a certain patch doesn't change their skill floor or ceiling. If Orisa and cass are strong (like now) he will objectively be a throw pick unless you know how to play him. Just because a hero is hard to get value out of doesn't mean they aren't still an easy character. Reinhardt is hard to get value out of, but he is still an "easy" hero because he has straighforward abilities and simple mechanics.
what's the "afraid of taking space" guy talking about? The enemy Ball was on the payload the entire time, as he should be, so of course playing on or near the cart is the correct play here. What 5v2 advantage are you trying to push here that would've required 4 of you to leave cart? The ball is on cart, or near it and if he isn't, he'll have an easy time getting on cart, because it's BALL! And even after you killed the ball, the mercy tried to rezz him ON CART! You play ON CART at that situation, because THAT'S WHERE THE ENEMY IS! Holy moly. Look, I get the sentiment, I've seen it happen alot in my games where we have an advantage but my team decided to fall back onto cart instead of chasing down that Cass who is all alone and an easy target and thus can be staggered for an advantage. But this situation ain't it.
I think he was talking about the next engagement, and just had to start the clip earlier to time it properly. Not the best editing, but I think he had the right idea.
On the easy / hard / weak / strong thing: Short answer to the question: "Sometimes". It wouldnt be easy to ride a bike with no handlebars juggling bowling pins as you rode- Doesnt mean you wouldnt have a major advantage in a race against someone running on foot. It being better doesnt make it "easier". Ease of use, and effectiveness, are 2 very different concepts. *Sometimes* the concepts do line up. Sometimes they dont.
I remember one time, I was playing with a gold player who said he should be Masters, in ranked. This was some of my first ranked games, I was new to the game. Time was running out, all of us are dead but our tank, and they backed off the point and time ran out. I argued they should have pushed towards the point, time was up and at least try to just keep the time going to possibly let us get back in time instead of backing off and not even started OT. The "Masters" player said that I was wrong, when like, either they died on the point or the time ran out, what should they have done? All the GM players I knew agreed with me and the "Masters" player wouldn't change his mind.
One thing that I will say for OW is that to make it a perfectly good and fun game, every hero has to be unique in some aspect, as they did in OW1. (Genii is the only wall climber, Sym is the only one with a TP, Winton is the only Hero with an alt that basically revives his entire HP pool, and adds more HP, EXT.) Although with some pressure to add new things to the game blizzard shared those traits with others, which means more hero options for people, but less hero uniqueness. This can be viewed as good or bad, but from a uniqueness prospective, this is a bad thing that ruined a lot of hero's kits
The guy in the first video is biased beyond belief. Every hero deserves to be viable, but not every hero deserves to be meta. Meta and viable are not interchangeable words.
It’s hard for me to play with friends when the only one is literally the “I’m dogshit, blames the team, rages, and then refuse to play” type of player it’s great. It’s why I only play arcade and customs now
“Sipping” the OW theme is one of the first things I noticed in the Season 1 BP. I genuinely thought it was cool, surprised more people are just now finding out about it. 🤷🏽♂️
Mauga player was right however I would have walked and poked to try and kill Illari and save charge to run back but the Moira FADEING to card in a 1v3 💀
Character that is difficult to get value with, but scales a lot with skill, is a difficult but good hero. (buff S2 Genji) Character that is easy to get value with, but doesn't scale very high with skill, is an easy but bad hero. (current Mercy)
Balanced doesn’t mean “just as viable” it means every hero is just as strong. Ball is pretty bad in most situations and then when he’s good he’s really good. That doesn’t make him unbalanced, the balance is in the percentage. Same with Mercy and everyone else they mentioned. Balance doesn’t mean everyone is exactly the same it just means everyone has strengths and weaknesses
I think the problem isn't do it all characters, because even farther than thanl Sigma we've had Ashe, a character with movement and high damage output both through burst and sustain that's been large fine as a character this whole time. The problem is when these characters abilities are looked at in a vacuum and not considered in the entirety of their kit. Sigma does it all, but can be run over, Junker Queen also can do it all but conversely loves being up close. An example of an overtuned generalist is sojourn. Range, damage, movement and survivability, she's got it all and all her abilities are looked at in a vacuum save for primary and secondary fire that are linked intrinsically. If i were to balance her personally I'd lower her projectile speed a bit to keep her in a comfortable mid range position with primary fire. Also, then slightly increase it's damage per bullet, as well as the charge needed for 100%, only enough to compensate for the extra primary fire damage. Then, I'd make her slide a 10 second cooldown. Finally, the icing on the cake, I'd make her railgun charge exponentially so it feels more worth it to either go after already injured targets, unless she already has 100% or close to it. Oh, and as a quality of life change, I'd add an auditory humm to her weapon at 100%
Why are you suddenly talking about Sojourner? I get that she falls between widow and soldier for damage but you didn't even say your complaints about Sojourner that I thought you were talking about Ashe until you mentioned Slide
@@heyyou9903 Oh yeah, my bad, I thought of the segway into my sojourn rant, but i guess i forgot to type it. Bottom line is sojourn is a generalist character that's overtuned, and that's how i'd change her. I'ma go back and edit the comment, thanks.
I feel like a character is "easy to play" when they're meta is because they have the tools and the damage to do so. Very rarely is a hero meta if they only have one. Also, it's important to take into consideration the mechanical skill of a hero. Tracer is really good rn, but she's one of the most difficult heroes to play because of her high mobility options and her lack of HP. Nobody can just pick up Tracer and start winning their games, that's just not how it works. The argument for Genji is that nobody in metal ranks know how to deal with him, and so they complain that he's "braindead" and "easy to play" when his mechanical skill is almost as hard as Tracers.
that guy is confusing "hard to play" with "getting value out of". A hero can be super hard to play and not get value out of it while at the same time, there can be a hero that can be super easy to play while getting insane value.
hes not claiming the heros are hard to play, hes pointing out that people always say a hero is "hard to play" as an excuse for why they arent getting value on a hero or why a hero isnt meta
because i'll find it fun i'mma give my thoughts on each tiktok before i watch flats give his. 1) I see what they're getting at. Some characters shouldn't be made for comp balance but just made because they're fun. I think the problem is that we're coming up on a decade since OW1 came out (Yikes) and the silly game it was has evolved into a comp game. My suggestion is to stop making heroes that do everything and have very streamlined hyperspecialized heroes. Not every character needs to be moira with healing, damage, mobility, and a free belly rub. The problem is we're too far deep and with no clear vision between the devs and community feedback becomes insanely hard to sift and evaluate 2) no tips. no tricks. Cool lineups tho, next time do a kickflip 4.3/10 3) Knew it, Knew it, OOO Didn't know it!! 4) There's a difference between a few things here. Difficulty to use and Difficulty to use well. Genji is hard to use, lots of small things that make him bad if you're a bad genji. Using him well is VERY hard. this is just a fact of life genji is a hard hero to get good at. if he's good in the meta there's a problem. Most people accept that those genji players while the hero is hard to play the fact that they're over buffed at that time makes them easier to get value. Say you have winston. A hard hero to play at a high level, If the other team is genji, tracer, mercy, lucio and another winston. yeah you're going to do well, the dps are things you are naturally better at. does that make winston easier? Situationally yes. but it doesn't affect that he's still hard to be GOOD with. Now on the flip side. if you play rein into orisa. is it hard to play rein? Well...no not really shield gets value most of the time and it's hard to miss a hammer swing. But to get value while playing into orisa YEAH it's harder. I think we're swapping meta and situational difficulty for hero skill floors. (that does not mean you should give doom players a break. if they're playing into a bad situation that's on the PLAYERS skill to sus out and swap it has nothing to do with how hard the hero is) 5) yeah flats didn't pause at all here so i am biased by hearing his take. I'm with him on this tho since i too am tank men. It's also why i like overwatch 1 more personally, barrier to entry was higher. more people had mics. with more mics was more people doing callouts and shit, another tank meant insurance for healers so they didn't feel like they had to fall back to stay safe if your tank went too deep. BUT i am biased like that too because i'm a filthy 6v6 supporter.
characters should be allowed to have a niche. im not fully agreeing with the guy I dont think some characters should just always be unviable and some always be viable thats just doing those characters injustice and is a middle finger to those who enjoy those characters and wish to see them flourish. Instead make every character viable in atleast 1 general scenario. Sym and torb have tools that help them hold down an area thats a good general niche for some of the game modes. Lucio and moira are good at keeping the team alive with a consistent flow of healing which obviously comes at rhe disadvantage of not having burst healing (I know they have healing orb and amp but its just faster consistent healing). Let characters be good in their niche while at best being a slightly worse side grade for other scenarios to let other characters have the spotlight. If a character doesnt have a niche dont make them super good in every single category but makw them flexible enough that picking them doesnt make you sandbag. Make them be good entry picks to see what the enwmy plans to run and then swap over accordingly once you figured out a counter strategy if needed.
One thing I really don’t understand, is why people are so adamant about hating widowmaker, and then THEY JUST DONT CARE WITH SOJURN, LIKE WHY???? They do in essence the same thing, one shots, and everybody hates widow for it, but I barely see any sojurn hate
I think it's cus the Widow you ONLY pay attention to when she's nailing you in the head. It's a very binary emotional exchange, where she either hits her shots or doesn't, you either get 100% negative emotional association or nothing. With Soj you get much more varied emotional range association with the hero, so even if she has the same potential as Widow, the mere fact that this isn't THE ONLY type of emotional association people have with her, is why she isn't seen as equally bad. Then added is the mental thought of "Widow is so far from me, how can I ever deal with her or avoid her sight lines" -while the death rate of Widow compared to Soj may be fairly equal, but the Soj just appears to have more openings you can engage against. It's the thought, the existence of hope -even if its imaginary hope, that matters. It's a similar phenomenon to Mercy pocketed dps, where on average a Mercy+Soldier or Mercy+Soj generally output much more pressure than a Mercy+Pharah, but because the Pharmercy duo physically stands out from the rest of the enemy team through elevation, means players are much more focused on the pressure they apply because they're more difficult to visually ignore. Meanwhile a Mercy pocketed Soldier on an off angle or behind the enemy frontline is oftentimes much harder to deal with than a Pharmercy, but they don't stand out nearly as much so the emotional association isn't as directly attributed to them, compared to the Pharmercy that is clearly blasting you and drawing attention to themselves while doing so. Emotional psychology is an interesting and odd topic.
I do kind of wish that you reacted to more funny/entertaining content rather than hot takes. Jay3 has pretty good react content like Overwatch concept designs, hilarious clips, confusing plays, etc. I get that this is your niche but your reactions are always the most entertaining when it's for innocent humor rather than pure salt

5v5 isn’t easier to balance than 6v6 sure I mean not for tank. I think the only argument for 5v5 existing is queue times. All these things that’d 100% make the game better are almost impossible because queue times. Add a standard mode for QP with comp rules? Queue times. 6v6 being almost objectively better? Queue times.
Ive actually had that happen so many times at spawn rooms. Im playing doom, kiri is with me, i get a 2 elimination punch on the ana and sojourn IN THEIR SPAWN. im still alive. 8:59 heres my one comment about this tiktok ...there is a difference between a character being hard to play bc of circumstances and them being hard to play bc of how they are designed. maybe consider that before even starting to form a point about it. you also cant exclude these two things from each other either, really. the way the base character is designed works directly with how they are played throughout the patches of the game. i know its more about arguing against toxic doomfist players but, i dont think im really getting the overall point this guy is trying to make. mayb im dumb idk, the way he explained it was weird.
He's just rage baiting I think. He's trying to equate the difficulty of being a good doomfist and the difficulty of using mercy in a way that makes her look like a good support. It's not the same. He just wants angry doom and genji players to comment and he wants people who hate genji and doom players to comment aswell.

@@skyler7017 doomfist has the highest skill floor for entry because you have to know so many little known things. The game doesnt teach you that you can cancel his punch, slam or block with the same button or using his other abilities. Yeah the hero mastery could touch on it but im just sayin i shouldnt have to watch a guide video on how to basic doomfist. You also have to remember not everyone has played COD or Rainbow Six so not every hero is just pick up and go like 76, Cass, Rein or Moira. Edit Forgot to touch on the bullet comment. I hate it as well since it discourages ppl from trying to aim better in the game. But the bullets are the part i replied to about in the vid. You want a better complaint then talk about the dps passive not being general enough for all dps heroes to benefit from it. Examples would be hanzo, junk, pharah, mei or sym just to name a few. The passive is the reason tracer, sombra and bastion see the most play since they have the highest shot output to proc 20%. The armor change may help dmg overall but it wont change the fact that those 3 will always have the best benefit from the passive.
Off topic but has anybody been getting that new mode while playing? I’ve only played it 3 times, at the start of the season and that’s it. Did they get rid of it ? Or like??

There has to be duplicates in these videos right? Or am I going crazy............. I'm sat here thinking "I swear I've heard flats say that exact same thing, to the same video, when was this posted...?"
Echo does NOT pronounce Illari correctly. Double Ls in Spanish languages are a Y, meaning the coreect way is not "Ill-Yari" because that would suggest theres three Ls in her name. The correct way is "E-Yari" and it's such a shame that such an interesting short on Overwatch facts got something so easily researchable wrong.
12:18 no need to use charge for chasing a illari into the spawn if respawns are coming into - complaining about the moira using fade to go onto the payload is not better than him using charge into the enemy spawn. Mauga could have poke they illari out maybe and using charge for disengage and not for overextending AND he is wrong cause he should never expect any resources from randoms

"Playing with friends is a much more enjoyable experience in overwatch." True, too bad none of my friends want to play overwatch.
same, they all hate it XD
For everyone that missed it: just because a hero is "bad" in a certain patch doesn't change their skill floor or ceiling. If Orisa and cass are strong (like now) he will objectively be a throw pick unless you know how to play him. Just because a hero is hard to get value out of doesn't mean they aren't still an easy character. Reinhardt is hard to get value out of, but he is still an "easy" hero because he has straighforward abilities and simple mechanics.
i feel like we have already seen these
the moira orb lineups is crazy
Bro has Moira lineups
what's the "afraid of taking space" guy talking about?
On the easy / hard / weak / strong thing:
Short answer to the question: "Sometimes".
Moira lineups are good for charging ult and forcing teams to play more passively around long corners
As a Moira main, I greatly appreciated the Orb spots thank you very much.
Blow my mind flats
The guy in the first video is biased beyond belief. Every hero deserves to be viable, but not every hero deserves to be meta. Meta and viable are not interchangeable words.
Reaper wont sing at this same Karaoke.
ive seen 80 shorts about it

Mauga player was right however I would have walked and poked to try and kill Illari and save charge to run back but the Moira FADEING to card in a 1v3 💀
as a reinheardt otp the slide thing is acually pretty hard to do the easiest one is the kings row one but its punishing to waist a charge for it
Character that is difficult to get value with, but scales a lot with skill, is a difficult but good hero. (buff S2 Genji)
Character that is easy to get value with, but doesn't scale very high with skill, is an easy but bad hero.
Sometimes I wish spamming "And they say chivalry is dead" would be a bannable offence
Every bug in OW is equivalent to 2 bugs for a doom player
After 2-3 losses on OW I take a QP/arcade break, or watch tv or eles tilting happens
13:08 what is Berry Benson yapping about 😭
I think the problem isn't do it all characters, because even farther than thanl Sigma we've had Ashe, a character with movement and high damage output both through burst and sustain that's been large fine as a character this whole time.
175hp tracer is kinda easy though. Much less punishable
Is this a reupload or am I just having the worst case of Deja Vu because I swear I have seen this exact video before.
You are a great youtuber keep going
Doom players gaslighted the fans to think he is bad when he is a good pick for 4 seasons now
that guy is confusing "hard to play" with "getting value out of".
As a mercy main, please help
because i'll find it fun i'mma give my thoughts on each tiktok before i watch flats give his.
The problem is we're too far deep and with no clear vision between the devs and community feedback becomes insanely hard to sift and evaluate
2) no tips. no tricks. Cool lineups tho, next time do a kickflip 4.3/10
3) Knew it, Knew it, OOO Didn't know it!!
(that does not mean you should give doom players a break. if they're playing into a bad situation that's on the PLAYERS skill to sus out and swap it has nothing to do with how hard the hero is)
5) yeah flats didn't pause at all here so i am biased by hearing his take.
5v5 and 6v6 is never gonna be perfect. Let's make it 12v12 and see what happens.
I had a some try to learn ball in my comp game. He went 0-8 before switching…
Then he should've tried to learn in QP, Comp is not the game mode for learning it's the mode for winning.
winton
I love these videos
I like Mauga's personality, and the concept of his kit. But in practice, it kinda' sucks to play against.
Me as a df main and I win 75 percent of my games he ain’t that hard just skill issues
characters should be allowed to have a niche. im not fully agreeing with the guy I dont think some characters should just always be unviable and some always be viable thats just doing those characters injustice and is a middle finger to those who enjoy those characters and wish to see them flourish.
Reject modernity, embrace overwatch battle royal
10:14 is that bobs boss on the incredibles?
Emotional psychology is an interesting and odd topic.
souj is much more accessible/easy to dive than widow is on maps like circuit royale, if the souj is at the same distance as widow she gets no value
Why was that man crying about moira leaving
I hope everyone is having a pretty good day.
Mercy is hard to justify putting the effort in for most scenarios for season 9&10
That first 1 just feels like rage bait with the way he's putting so much blame on this one detail even if he's right then what is he asking for, the game to just stay the same forever

Hey flat, I just saw some of the low elo player broadcasted on youtube , will you do the youtube live too?
5v5 isn’t easier to balance than 6v6 sure I mean not for tank. I think the only argument for 5v5 existing is queue times. All these things that’d 100% make the game better are almost impossible because queue times. Add a standard mode for QP with comp rules? Queue times. 6v6 being almost objectively better? Queue times.
Ive actually had that happen so many times at spawn rooms. Im playing doom, kiri is with me, i get a 2 elimination punch on the ana and sojourn IN THEIR SPAWN. im still alive. Dva is pummeling me with damage, but kiri is keeping me up through my block. I punch the OTHER kiri, kill her in their spawn. I turn around and go to leave, i die in the air because kiri left during my block for some reason. We lost. Most wild "tank diff" ive ever gotten.
i played doom 2 times and got 13k exp the first time and 19K EXP THE SECOND TIME
What da dog doin?
That “proper way” with echo is complete BS. Mauga calls himself mow-guh and illari calls herself E-R-E.
6:21 "Oh my lanta" in the chat. A fellow SmallAntMom enjoyer, i presume🎉
Is that a repost? I remember seeing your reaction to a couple of these.
I dont think every hero needs to be viable but they do need to have a lower skill floor for entry.
huh?? overwatch is the easiest fps these days i dont think we have to lowerr the skill floor anymore dude.. ffs last season we made bullets impossible to miss anything more and we are barely playing a video game anymore lmao
Edit
Forgot to touch on the bullet comment.
Or like??
Problem with tips and tricks is tips and tricks are meant to enhance your gameplay by makeing an unpredictable play that’s difficult and uncommon uh 95% of ur viewers are metal rank player who struggle with the basics of the character and will punch of the map with the doom role outs
mercy is hard to play when you refuse to actually learn any of her tech, and have 0 abilities. Just sitting around a corner going numb is not mercy. So yes for the average donkey shes impossible...

Fr, no one is saying that Doomfist is weak. Most people complain about his bugs or ultimate being garbage; which is complained about by the playerbase in general.
No. F the mercy mains, nobody wants to play an fps game and have 2 players out of the 10 just be dedicated heal bots. Its boring for the dps duel, its boring for the tank duel, its boring as a support
"when doomfist was op nobody was calling him hard to play?" BECAUSE IT WAS EASY TO GET VALUE FROM HIM.. BECAUSE HE WAS OP

13:48 11 kids!?! O.o
Mercy is bad?? Can someone tell that to my teamates?
12:18 no need to use charge for chasing a illari into the spawn if respawns are coming into - complaining about the moira using fade to go onto the payload is not better than him using charge into the enemy spawn. Mauga could have poke they illari out maybe and using charge for disengage and not for overextending AND he is wrong cause he should never expect any resources from randoms
