- A view on what I do on a Monday morning ready to stay out in the truck for a week and how I try to plan my Monday to benefit me for the rest of the week. sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. watch and see.....
It's amazing how since I recently started following you, how many other lady truckers have popped up on UA-cam but I'll tell you what, none of them show the same degree of professionalism, have the presentational style and personality as you. For me, your tops Jemma.
Hi Jemma, I love the way you approach your working day and your ability to plan the daily activities. As a recently retired Coach Driver, I know about such things as very early starts, late finishes and grabbing a short sleep during the day when the opportunity arises. Stay safe out there. xxx
What a great idea. To use your camera to check brake lights. Very simple idea. But it has never occured to me.
thanks where would we be without our phones
I used to have a short stick and would push the brake pedal down and wedge it again the bottom of the seat when its sitting low.
Love your personality and professionalism to the job, you give a good insight to what it s like being a truck driver.
Having watched a number of your videos, I have just subscribed. I remain impressed and amazed at your continual positive attitude towards your work! I used to be a Currency Broker in the City of London, this meant that for more than 30 years I used to get up at 5.05am to work in a dealing room under constant stress by my employer to be making money and meeting targets. I doubt I had 10% of your positive approach to work, and towards the end hated every moment. Living in a NW London suburb, I curse the traffic and lousy roads, and couldn't imagine spending all those hours driving! You should be writing books on how to have a positive attitude towards life! Let me know and I will be sure to buy a copy!!!
thank you and welcome. i'm not really sure why I am like I am. sometimes I've been told im too passive about thing but maybe that's a good thing
@@rosscopeeco69 You touch on an interesting point. The fact is the more you earn the more you spend. My bos would be only to happy if you bought an expensive watch or car, or went on an expensive holiday. That would mean you would work that much harder to maintain the lifestyle!! And whilst you're making money and having a 'good run' he would be your friend, if you had a 'bad run' he would be your biggest enemy, and then end up getting slung out like a broken calculator!! Without meaning to bore you with my life story, I did the job for thirty years and ended up with OCD and in therapy that is still on-going. Money doesn't always buy happiness!
@@jemmawarren27 Just curious i know you drive across the UK doing Loads have you ever had to take a load across the Channel over into France before like the Normandy or Pas de Calis area before Jemma.
Jemma that was great, insight, dedication, love of the job, your driving talent all covered. Take care x
Thank you ☺️
Thank you for the tip, film your brake lights to see if they work, very smart👍👍and it’s great to watch your video’s love it.

Well done Jemma, nicely organized and successfully completed. Planning is always a good idea, just wish I could do it!! Thank you for another good vlog.
Hi Jemma, you're well organised ,you're never under pressure, great truck driver.👍
Hi Jemma, I love the way you approach your working day and your ability to plan the daily activities. As a recently retired Coach Driver, I know about such things as very early starts, late finishes and grabbing a short sleep during the day when the opportunity arises. Stay safe out there.
Thank you! Yes I agree I think it’s one of the most important skills to have as a driver is your time management🤗
Such a professional and so organised. She makes it look so easy. And she is so pretty as well. I will continue to follow her on her journey s
Good video ... don't think I was ever in Portland in the UK. Just checked the map and see it. Used to go down to Poole a lot in the late 80s and 90s to catch the Truckline Ferry to Cherbourg France..Nice area down there....have been to sunny Scunny many times.
Portland is unusual but great. Some very interesting sights. We go to Poole occasionally ☺️
Brilliant videos love the way you keep ur truck so immaculate inside fair play it’s ur home for a week 😊
thank you. yes its nice to live in a clean space
I swear your videos get better and better with every video Jemma another fantastic video! Take care have a great week! 🤗🚛
I'm trying my best so glad you think so, really trying to make videos people want to watch :)
@@jemmawarren27 so much admiration for you to do all this just to start work...would love a tour in yer truck
“Say goodbye to my Ryan”; I was touched by that.
You must really love your job to be as committed as you are, and be away from home all week.
yes its always hard to say good bye. think Im lucky to live in an age withe mobile phones
Great vid, Jemma.
I was loading steel on Liverpool docks last week and saw a few of yours waiting.
Enjoy your weekend! ☺️
Thank you. We are everywhere 🤣🤣
Hi Jemma , nice video as usual. You are nice organized. The Monday start is definitely difficult evereywhere 😂. I like the position of the camera when you reverse. Have a nice Sunday, bye 🙋♂️
thank you, glad you enjoyed it
Another GR8 vlog Jemma. They never get boring, there so interesting to watch & your an amazing driver 😊
Thank you. And I’m really glad you think so, it’s great to hear ☺️

Brilliant video Jemma, great too see you changing that brake light bulb. If only everyone was as conscientious as you . I know your company uses Newport docks in South Wales, I will look out for you and give you a flash .👌😃
Thank you. Yes I was over there on Monday in fact☺️ please do ☺️
Many thanks Jemma, truck looks a treat, hard to keep clean this weather. Enjoyed the trip to Portland, brought back memories of going there in the 1970s. Take care.
thank you Christine. such a lovely place. often wish I wasn't just driving through :):)
Fantastic vlog as always Jemma, thank you very much!! Really enjoyed seeing you get prepared for work👌 Wow, I wish I looked that good at 2.45am!! 😂 You are a fantastic driver & I really love & admire your attitude to the job!! 👌 Best wishes with your house renovation, I can only imagine how stressful that must be for you guys!! Best wishes to you & the family ☺️🙏
thank you, glad you are enjoying the videos.
@@jemmawarren27 Thank you so much Jemma, thoroughly enjoying them!! Thank you so much!! ☺️
Hi Jemma another enjoyable vlog as always, as someone who has spent most of my life working on dairy/arable farms I can sympathise with the long hours, only difference is during harvest we don't get the chance to stop for a nap and we only eat when we get the chance to but I love working in the farming sector so don't mind it.
Just happened to be riding my bike past your yard the other day and had to stop snd admire how clean and tidy all the trucks were
yes they are nice looking trucks
Another awesome video Jemma. Glad you had a good Monday, always good to start the week on a high, keep on trucking 👍🤛😊
Thank you ☺️
We visited Selby earlier this year and spent a holiday near there some years ago, a nice place.
Glad this was a better start for the week and hope it stayed that way and ended safely.
Hi Jemma, great video 👍 Very methodical and easy going 😉. Take care.
Brilliant jemma your vlogs get better.tipping in my home county of Yorkshire 👍
Ah that’s good to hear. I’ve been trying my best ☺️
Hi Jemma great video I know it’s stupid but never realised how much planning you guys need to do. Fair play
Can’t wait for the next one take care
yes its constant planning and changing plans with hold ups. thank you and welcome to the channel
Hi jemma, wow 02.45am🥴must mean you end up going bed quite early on the Sunday then, portland looks a lovely place to be,great reverse in 1 go jemma to that pit👌great video jemma🙂👍
Yes Sunday nights are always early to bed. Portland is beautiful. Thank you 🤗
Another great video, god imagine if your brake lights were LEDs the hassle and expense that would be! Stay safe and thanks for your wonderful video!
Yes. I think I would prefer normal lights especially for the trailer ☺️
I’ve tipped in that mill at Selby loads of times. I once had the driver that was tipping on the other pit have his oil pipe burst with the body half up and the oil landed on my truck! Not nice! You’re making some great videos!
I used to drive bulk tippers and was by far my favourite trucking job. Had to give it up though as I was allergic to grain dust which was an absolute nightmare in the summer collecting from farms.
yes its not great all year around but definitely worse in the summer. such a shame if you enjoyed it
Dark O’clock isn’t the most fun time to get up, I never enjoyed it when going abroad - kudos girl, for being so cheerful at that time.
Getting up is the worst but but once I’m up and had a cuppa I’m alright😁
Least your first shift was better than mine, before I left the yard my tralier lights shorted out, fitter call out couldn't fix it (no parts on sundays) had to tranship my load (26 pallets 🤢) clocks jumped forward a hour = 6 hour delay lol... Coupled with a 6 hour run into London 🤯 I have been rewarded with a "cream" run tonight though 😂🤟... Really look forward to your videos now one of the better UA-camrs out there.. Nice to to get a different insight into how bulk haulage of farming runs.. Keep it up Jemma 🙌
oh dear not good. glad your enjoying the videos
My favourite part of driving HGVs was the reverse manoeuvring, loved the challenge.
Hi Gemma, I used to start at 1a.m. they used to call it early morning shift..no traffic and always finished by dinner time, great in the summer but hard in the winter...😂
to check brake lights - chop a piece of wood long enough to hold the pedal down wedged between the seat base & pedal ! Works a treat every time 😊
Ya same to me👍, proud to be INDIAN
Hi Jemma. If your in the Selby area and need to park up for the night. A63 between Selby and Thorpe Willoughby has a big wide lay by that's safe to park your truck. Traveling on the motorway from Selby to Scunthorpe is longer and more miles. There's a quicker route through Goole down the A161 to Ealand roundabout junction.
Another great vlog Jem, love the bucket on that Hitachi as shovel at Portland, I drive one the same just without the high tip bucket. Have a great weekend and roll on next week 🤟👌
Nice one!
Yoyo drive you go I love watching your video they do get me to what I missed out only wishing I had passed my hgv and drove a lorry but my life was bad life keep on trucking when you comining up to Scotland in a big recker lol be safe keep on rolling
Thanks for another interesting and informative vlog Jemma. It's weird how the same company can have different approaches to pick ups at different sites but you handled it brilliantly at Selby. Stay well 👍🏻
yes I guess sometimes its down to the site manager. thank you for watching
Thankyou for sharing. Really interesting to see the life in a day on the road. Take Care...
Great video thanks for letting us come on your journey I suppose you have to have a Monday to have a Friday people don't know the sacrifice drivers make to do are job 😀
So true! Thank you. Yes it a long week ☺️
Good going Jemma. lts nice when you get a 13hr on a monday. Sets you up for the rest of the week
Indeed. It’s always great when it works in your favour ☺️
Safe travels trucking Jemma
Another great video very interesting good reversing!
thank you
Hi Gemma, greetings from Perth Aus
Love your videos
Really enjoying them all
Nice seeing you come to portland... 😁👍
I don't drive a truck but I love working nights. I use to get up around midnight and go in. I like going home when everyone else is going to work.
There is something peaceful about it sometimes☺️ I can understand why you liked it
Your truck looks fab great video as always
Thank you ☺️
Great video Jemma
Great informative video Jemma, tidy bit of reversing on to the pit.
Thank you and thank you 🤗
Another interesting informative vid😊
Thank you ☺️
Hi Jemma another great video hope you’re week continues well stay safe 👍
Thank you! 😀
From Devon myself, In Melbourne Australia my daughter was driving home from work, she had a flat tyre and pulled in a lay by, I phoned the road assistance company they wanted to send an ambulance as I said a 'lay by' they took it she was having a baby, in labour!!!
Hahah oh no!! How funny though. 🤣🤣
A very good Saturday morning to you all from Wellington Somerset
Good morning 🤗
Lovely Video, Portland is a lovely place ❤ I'd love to do your job but worry I'd fail on reversing it lol. Have a lovely weekend off X
Thank you. Everything is hard to start with but it gets easier with experience ☺️
Interesting that you take us through the routine of the day.
Your driving videos are getting better each week in the Scania 500S Jemma and have a great week out on the road 🛣️
thank you, glad to hear it
Really enjoying your videos keep it up!
Lot of love and respect for you from Nasir Khan I also want to be heavy truck driver ❤
Thanks for another great video 👍
Can't believe the time you have to start, I suppose it lets you get on before the traffic builds up perhaps ??
I'm guessing that loading shovel that loaded you must have an onboard weigher as he seemed to know when you'd your full load on.
Our lorry drivers just give some hand signals where they need it on the lorry and when it's getting down to the last bucket.
I normally trickle it in as the driver is watching his on board weigher, then stop when he tells me to.
In Aberdeenshire I reckon we're spoilt, as 99,9% of our drivers are out brushing up as we load.
I do understand some big places down South don't allow the driver to leave the truck, I believe.
I've added a few more details for the non farming/ halulage people that might read this.
Anyway, happy trucking you folks keep the world moving 👍😊
Thank you. In the big grain-stores and docks it is rare to be allowed out.
I give the driver a beep when there is enough on the trailer
@@jemmawarren27
Ok thanks,
I was wondering as not all trucks up here have in cab weight displays, some are just at the right hand side of the trailer but I know some even have hand held wireless displays, sort of like a mobile phone.
I'm trying to remember how they used to check on farm before weighers, I think a pressure gauge in the tipping ram was often a rough guide.
Tip it up a certain height and check the scale, I think, it's so long since as trailers with weighers have been on the go for years.
A question for your more "senior" colleagues 😊
I’ve just subscribed to your channel and I absolutely love it, only seen 2 videos so far but they were so interesting, thank you so much
thank you so much and welcome to the channel :)
Keep calm and carry on , put the kettle on and we’ll have a nice cup of tea .Vaya con Dios Peter❤
Great vlog Jemma.. love your truck.. and you can’t beat lasagna 👍🏻
Cheers Paul fella
Good work and looking lovely
Great job there Kiddo!🌻
Always interesting to she how you do things.
Christ! Did your feet feel the breeze of those trucks/busses passing
when you took that Nap? For Duck Sake!
(seriously, do you have to fold your mirror in there?)
Me?
I hate driving on Monday mornings.
Everyone's either tired, not paying attention, spilling coffee, angry, whatever! lol!
My Boss wants us to leave between 3 and 6 am Monday.
But our loaders love food at midnight so I hook them up, on Friday nights.
Then they'll leave my paperwork in the trailer, so I can leave out Saturday Night/Sunday
Morning, while everyone's in Church. Depending on where I'm going.
I drive 12 hours, eat a real dinner, grab a shower, go see a movie, then off to bed.
Then I'm at my stop on Monday morning 6 am, fresh as a Daisy.
Ahhhh, Being a single trucker in America has it's advantages. lol!
I generally get in one extra run a week, which my boss loves.
Then I'm done between 10am & 2pm Friday.
Wash, Rinse, & Repeat.
Have a Great weekend, and stay safe out there Jemma!
WB
I wish we finished at that time on a Friday. Yes like you say Mondays are tough for many reasons. No didn’t need to pull mirror. Just shows when you look after others they look after you ☺️
@@jemmawarren27
Well said.
Now if I could just get my Boss to buy me a Scania R730 XXXL? lol!
Have a great week Jemma
Cheers Kev
Are ForFarmers Selby, I tip soya there all the time. They were all queued up as there’s a railway crossing, there’s clipper, Fairfax plant hire and Bowkers around there and it’s the only accessible route for HGVS.
Ah I see. I did think it was a little strange. Quite an unusual set up in there but I did like the quick pit ☺️
@@jemmawarren27 was even worse until I destroyed the wheel wash! 🙈😂
good video as usual jemma
Glad you think so! Thank you ☺️
I hope you enjoy the traffic coming through wyke regis on your way to Portland! School kick out is best😀

Ayy up Jemma,Shelby is not that far away from where I live, enjoy stay safe 😊
Thank you! Will do!
Awesome backing!

I’m surprised some car didn’t come out of nowhere and foul things up!
Haha yes I was waiting for someone to ruin it but I think I was lucky on this occasion 😁
9:40 legendary reverse there Jemma!
Great action packed video.
Nice one Jemma
SHALOM 🔥
Thank you ☺️
Good stuff Jemma, stay safe and be careful out there
thank you
Enjoyed the video. Thanks. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it🤗
Great video again Jemma that was some reverse up in Selby 🙌
Next time I reckon you pour a cup of cold water on Ryan then he will certainly be up to drink his cup of tea while it’s hot 😂😂
Thank you. Normally he is an early person and alway up first at the weekend but I think even 2:45 is too early for him😁
A hard life. All bed and work. Admire your strength and drive....
Aww selbys so close to me. I would love to have come said hello! 😂
Fantastic a real professional.
Thank you 🤗
Awesome jem 👍
Thanks 😁
Nice backing up job!!
Hi.
I haul fuel (petrol) in Michigan USA.
I'm finding this fascinating.
I guess trucking is pretty much the same everywhere.
Though here it's almost never a bulb, but almost always corroded wiring.
Lucky break.
Thanks!
yes I think all around the world we come across similar problems. luckily I've rarely had corroded wires. thanks

Question:
What's that lever on your dash to your left?
Parking brake?
We have big yellow/red buttons here.
Do you like the V8 Scania?
I had a Saab car once. Loved it.
Hi Jemma another great video have a wonderful weekend 😊
thank you and to you
@@jemmawarren27 thank you
That would suit me being away from home for a week. I don't think i would be as organised as you though.
I really like your thought process that if you start the week very early, hopefully you can end it early too on Friday. It's good this was a smooth and problem free Monday and nothing ruined your week. I can imagine that resting in a lay-by isn't the best option, because the traffic is constatly going on right beside your truck. I'd like to ask something. When you park up for the night to rest do you run the engine to warm the cab or do you have a different device for that? Pleasant temperature is important in the cold months. As always this is another excellent vlog, you're really good in this genre Jemma. ☺
Thank you! Yes we have night heaters that don’t need the engine to be on to work. I was certainly glad of an easy Monday ☺️
Just such a hard worker
I just drive a van !
Still lots miles a day
Hopefully you get a least 25 pounds a hour!
Company make plenty believe me
Nice vid Jemma
Happy Mondays😉
Thank you ☺️
Hi Jemma, may I say I hate trucks, I work on them12hours a night, I can see your cab is you r home, help us out when you come for service, the cab has to tipped over, we don't want telly'ys through the screen, and you don't want boot marks on your carpet, I will
Not finished, I will keep your house clean along I have to do it, help the workshops help you, ❤❤❤👍👍
Cracking one Jemma. very interesting videos yor posting. As recommended from Olly blogs
Thank you. He’s a good egg ☺️
I love the drive up to selby from Bridgwater Somerset
WHAT!! a great TIP!! ..... Use the camera to check your brake lights!! .... I normally wait until someone's passing and GRAB them to check for Me .... Quite a wait sometimes 😀
Indeed… where would we be without our mobile phones these days 🤦🏼♀️🤣 the good and the bad
It's nice to watch you again jemma xx
Thank you ☺️
