It's wild that Nintendo actually considered the possibility of someone navigating the Wasteland as a kid, AND glitching their way over the river of sand, and closed that gate and put a guard there.

I noticed that with Zora's Domain, too: they arbitrarily blocked the path with rocks to force you to do Dodongo's Cavern first, but there's nothing in Zora's Domain that actually needs bombs. If you glitch past the rocks you can do Jabu's Belly and the dialogue at the end even correctly says "You've gotten your second spiritual stone". There's even a Gold Skultulla in Dodongo's Cavern that needs the boomerang to acquire. I think they originally intended to let you do either dungeon first, and maybe later decided to railroad you by just plopping rocks there.

By the time you get bombs you're about 5 minutes away from beating the cavern so you might as well get the heart container and the magic meter before you go. Those rocks at Zora's River are so arbitrary: they're not acknowledged like the rock blocking Dodongo's Cavern, there's no reason they are there, nobody in Zora's Domain comments "Oh is the road clear again?" It just feels like they were plopped there at the 11th hour to force you to do Goron first.

ya know for the record key rings can actuslly be worse than every key being randomized. Cuz while now an entire dungeon hinges on you finding a single item if you NEVER find that item you could potentially be locked out of a LOT of item checks
Phil's probably been doing these bomb hovers for over a decade and still he can manage to screw them up from time to time. It's a nice reminder for us all that we're only human and even the very best can make mistakes. So if anyone is stressing over something, remember to go a little easier on yourself.
Imagine having a single 3 day cycle in Termina. I feel maybe they could implement a failsafe thats not broken, like if you can reach the Mask Salesman he can clock you back in hours if you pay him perhaps? Say... 50 rupees per hour so youd have to grind money
I would honestly prefer the opposite. Immagine if day 1 just starts again after day 3 so you don't have to song of time and can just scarecrow or story time to day 1 again and not lose your bomb count and ruppies.

Between the ocarina items glitch and reverse bottle adventure, most runs are technically possible, though things like wrong warps aren't exactly exciting to watch.
Maybe I'm overlooking something, but wouldn't you WANT to have pots and grass enabled for it to be easier? I mean they are everywhere so you have the chance for any upgrades like Heart containers, keys, key items, songs, etc to just come to you way earlier than usual? Wouldn't that make it possible to farm items by leaving and reentering an area with many pots? Or is it so each of these items is set in one specific pot, so that you have to smash/cut every single one in the game in order to be sure you're not missing something?
im confused why did the run end when you don't song of time in MM? doesn't a moon crash just reset you to day 1 automatically like SOT? or is it like a personal thing where "if I die, the run ends"?
I would argue grass shuffle is worse than pot shuffle... at least in MM, mostly because the Keaton grass patches are glitchy and it's a toss up if you'll actually get the item or not.

I think it would be cool to watch something like an Ultimate Randomizer that connected most games, but that may be a stretch.
would likely just need a full rewrite of the games (extremely daunting task), or some way to link together separate emulators into 1 (also daunting), for a less seamless experience you could probably use the archipellago multiworld thing, im not EXACTLY sure how that works though, but it may work! if you wanted it to just be within a single experience, it would be very very tough though. i would like to see it personally
okay just looked at archipelago, it supports (zelda): orcarina of time original zelda link to the past links awakening dx so technically more, but i think it would be a less enjoyable experience than this mm and oot link
What i do when i want a sword for young link in oot when i do a randomizer is if i get the prescription and use it with king zora i go back in time seven years and let the timer run out and for some reason if a sword is unequipped it sends you all the way back to the zora king with the sword you had for adult and the best part it does the same amount of damage so i use biggoron sword

There's a high likelihood that you were actually able to get there as a child initially, but they blocked it due to not enough time.

It puts you back to last save, which, by the end of the run, had 9 seconds on it.
