Nah, I personally think it’s where he went to Brazil. To me, all this time he still looked like he was reliant. Needing a quick set or where the setter has to set the ball to which stops so he can hit it. Yes, in this arc he trained to receive but he still wasn’t good enough to receive in nationals so it was pretty much not helping as much. But the observations did. Whereas in the Brazil ark he learned not to be reliant and fight by himself. He was also amazing at everything now and was able to stand up for himself not behind another. That’s my opinion tho and I fully respect yours.

      Little story~
That "I am a ballboy level one" phylosophy have turned my life to the better. Idk how to be healthier, I observed, do it consistently, and now I loose 20kg. Idk how to manage my mental stress, I learned, day by day, and now I'm glad I'm doing better. Just observe and humble yourself like a ballboy mentality even got me to win a badminton match, which I totally suck before. It turns out my grip was all wrong, I learned basic badminton steps, I learn to tie my shoes so it won't untie between matches. Who would've thought those little things, every day, got me so far

@@StorySentral05 I think the Brazil arc is my favorite final arc because it shows how Hinata got to national level. But I do think that Ballboy arc is more rewarding soul crushing. Hinata is told that he's nothing like Kageyama and while hurt, he focus on improving. Being humble enough to ask help from people he already defeated. Rather than learning offense, he now had to learn defense.

As a "retired" volleyball player who is now close to 50 years old, I remembered that the very first time I watched this scene in this episode, my eyes welled up with tears. I think it was the single most important scene in the whole series. The beauty of it is that it was so simple and yet so very important.

I love how unexpected Hinata's save is. I'm sure at least 90% of viewers had totally forgotten about this whole "let's take it easy"-thing. And then, when we arrived at this scene, it struck us, just like his team mates. The moment I realized what he just did, I snapped out of the scene and was totally in awe. I felt similar to how Suga felt. I was so reliefed and happy, but most importantly, I was proud. Very proud. And knowing what happens in the manga later on, man. I can't possibly wait for every body to finally see our boy in action.

Hyakuzawa having the realization that volleyball is hella complex (like all other sports) and not just about simple height dominating above all else is one of the best mini stories within Haikyuu hands down. And the fact that he's taught this by one of the smallest players is all the more brilliant.

It's interesting how Washijo didn't even let Hinata play once in the training camp, even though one of the coaches notes how he was the most fired up.
But then I realized that it didn't really matter that much, as Washijo points out that the people who are lacking in size always have a hunger to improve.
Hinata would always want to improve, regardless of whether he could play or not, and I think that helped him realize his lesson.

Hinata receiving the ball was his shining moment and the most beautiful scene in season 4. It's just BEAUTIFUL to see how Hinata improved just from observing? Also, he was in the middle of a match and he was observing everything? It's almost like he's unaffected by his teammates during that time, like he's out of their frequency of panic and in a neutral mode observing everything. While it was only for that moment that we see Hinata's moment since he's still growing to be a better player.. I literally teared up. It's just... B R E A T H T A K I N G. I love Haikyuu. It's the only sports anime that has truly taken hold of my soul and heart.

Hinata's "take it easy" moment in the Inarizaki match, and the scene leading up to it, is easily one of my favorite moments in Haikyuu. I especially love how it gets all dark around the edges, and the intense music, then how it goes all bright again with Hinata's receive. People always refer to Hinata as "sunshine", and here he was really the light breaking through the darkness.

  • @BakirTorkman
    @BakirTorkman 2 роки тому +29

Relaxation is one of the hardest lessons to learn in volleyball. As a team sport you want to make the most of the small amount of time you get to touch the ball and as everybody in the team becomes more tense mistakes are inevitable. As I played at higher and higher levels I saw the best players were always the ones that seemed like there wasn’t a tight muscle in their body. It took me a long time to master this, for hinata it was quickness for me it was power and jumping, learning to resist leaning into my strengths and maintain a balanced game made me a vastly better player.

When Hinata did that receive that allowed everyone to take a step back and relax a little was honestly the best moment in season 4, watching him in the first few season you can clearly tell that he is an energetic person and just wants to always jump and spike, but then you see him grow as a person and you watch that scene thinking, "Hinata, of all people, is taking it easy and allowing/helping his teammates take a breath in the match" I was never more proud of him
I love him so much eekk-

I had been obsessed with cricket since I was a little kid. I've always wanted to bowl fast just like my heroes that I saw on TV however I sucked at the game. Not getting into the middle school team and not having anyone really to teach me anything about bowling fast really pissed me off. But I was so passionate about it that I'd bowl to a wall for hours each day and I did that for over a year until I got some pace. Everyone acknowledged my skills now and I even became the vice-captain of my highschool team. All was going perfect till I realized that my bowling action was wrong footed meaning I'd step twice with my right foot before delivering, this set a limit to my speed and cuz I had practiced the action to the extreme I just couldn't make it right.
That was a big life experience and thank God I had that before playing volleyball. Now I had realized the importance of basics and I try to master my volleyball basics to perfection(especially the steps to jumping) and it's going great so far, I'm an all around player in volleyball now and can play literally any position : )

I've been trying to do this and that faster, study faster, do assignments faster, I'm so tired of forcing myself to be better and faster, so tired but I don't know what to do about it- until I decided to take a break and watch this video. It felt like a weight was pulled off of my shoulders. Take it easy. Such a simple sentence and yet it's so impactful at the same time. I think I get it now. Take it easy. I was watching this episode today. It is my favourite episode of the first 4 seasons, and arguably it doesn't even show our main protagonist as the hero of the story. It's an amazingly well crafted episode showing how he learns by observing and how I've learned a lot of my physical martial arts skills: by having to put into words a physical movement to teach it to someone else. I love it. One of the best things is how it leads to my favourite scene of the first 4 seasons: OOOHRAI!
It also has by far the funniest scene of all 4 seasons, where he gets hit in the nether regions. 😂

Great video!!! ^^ I absolutely agree that Washijo Sensei knew that Hinata lacked the fundamentals and agreed only if he stays as a ball boy when he crashed that camp. Hinata was able to observe other players, think and learn which was what led him to observe and realize Kunimi's plays to keep the ball high for his team to have time to keep the ball in play.
Not only did Hinata learnt to observe, react, receive, he learnt to Let's take it easy.
I remember my first time watching Haikyuu Karasuno vs Inarizaki match made me the audience hold my breath as that play scene accelerated. When Hinata received the ball and kept the ball high, I could let out my breath and relaxed.
I did not realize they made the scene before Hinata received darker even though I have re-watched it so many times. I did notice they made it really bright to the max when received the ball. It was indeed a moment with lots of feels.
Look forward to more of your videos!!! XD

I love how when we're all caught up in the excitement of all these players performing such incredible feats, character moments like these really make sure to keep our feet on the ground and remember that everyone here is human, has their limits, and have more to learn. Really makes you take a step back from it all and breathe it all in like you said. Great video bro, really great!!

Yes! When an anime can make you feel all those emotions at once and then hit you with something as powerful as that moment, you know it’s a masterpiece. Appreciate you bro :)

great video dude! this focus on simplicity reminded me of washijo's catchphrase for volleyball "simple is best", and I think, whether consciously or subconsciously, he taught that lesson to hinata (as you described in the video)
also as a quick thought: maybe he wanted hinata to learn the fundamentals from this becuase he probably noticed that hinata didn't even know the basics in the finals game (as noted by either the johzenji coach or shiratorizawa's assistant coach, i don't remember which one, when the training camp was over)

This right here is one of the many reasons I have watched Haikyuu more than nine times over the years. It is one of the animes that made me a big fan of anime as a whole but also sports anime specifically.
