Yep. It's honestly refreshing how Hinata subverts the typical relationship most characters have towards their sport. Winning is just a means to the end of being able to continue to play tvolleyball, whereas in most cases, playing would be the means of achieving victory/proving their proficiency or dominance.
Whenever I think of Hinata I just think of how in the span of two episodes, he encouraged Yachi to take hold of her life, and then almost injured himself and Asahi because of his narrow vision and selfish hunger. He's got multiple sides to him.
As a national level very short swimmer in my country, this show doesn't miss a beat with Hinata's emotional progression and overall capturing how the competitive environment around somebody disadvantaged treats them. This show has honestly been quite inspiring for me although I'm no volleyballer. This show is just so damn REAL.
Short swimmers have some sort of strength in underwater kicking at the very least, short volleyball players who don’t want to play lib have nothing really. Big ups to you for being at your level nonetheless, I know for a fact swimming is extremely hard.
in the first minutes, it reminded me of what Kageyama's grandpa told him "if you get really good someone even better will come and find you" it gave me chills that maybe after their middle school tournament when Hinata declare war with him he was thinking about exactly what his grandpa told him.
Same here. His grandpa's words is one of the haikyuu quotes that stuck to me the most. and of course, it'd resurface in my brain whenever I witness anything related to kageyama/hinata's growth and their little competitions. damn, those challenger bastards. i love them so much....... 😭😭😭💓💓💓
It’s like when Hinata sent the ball all the way up to make everyone take a breath of fresh air during the match. With only this shot/panel you can see all of the evolution our little crow made. What a crazy character I just love him and he’s on top of the mountain when it comes to Shonen character 🥰🥰 Many thanks for continuing that Haikyuu series Alex 🖤🖤🖤
Exactly, with everyone succumbing to the pressure of wanting to win or wanting to not lose, Hinata keeps a clear head cause he doesn’t care about that, all he cares about in that moment is that he’s playing volleyball, getting better, and has a team to play with. He believes winning will come naturally if they all give it their best so he never stresses about it, which arguably makes the times where they lose even more impactful.
His analisys on Inarizaki vs Karasuno totally changed the series for me and connection he made in that video with Oikawa fucking Made him my favorite Character. His Haikyuu breakdowns are best in the game
@@Aleczandxr Not to preasure. Just do your best, we'll wait because we know you'll deliver quality work. Take your time (tho due to the UA-cam alogarithm this may be a bit hard but hey, support on Patreon)
One of my favorite things of this series is that initially I believed Hinata to be the classic shounen protagonist - rash, ambitious, driven - but, of course, Furudate has a mastery of character writing that adds to such gravitas even to the most trite of shouen tropes. The character arcs, especially how they culminate in the final arc of the manga, is truly on a whole other level.
ballboy arc is such an amazing arc. hinata grew so much from the training. i really can't understand the people who said it was boring. i loved the arc from the very first time i read it, i wished it was longer, and even now it is one of my favourites.
same here!!! i guess the difference comes from the purpose each person have on watching haikyuu. if they seek just the fun and thrill of the plays, then ball boy arc isn't to their taste. but if we seek for something deeper-a true story, or the real story behind a story-then ball boy is one of the most satisfying and touching to watch!!! even i still can't believe how much, how drastic my love for hinata grows after the ball boy arc, my heart still throbs whenever i think of it.
@@moonhajung6742 I love the story as a whole I like seeing the characters interact and train and then I also like the matches I like a good mix of those things
Especially when Kageyama yells at his teammates after Hinata says “we haven’t lost yet”. Even while smacking these guys and absolutely mashing them into paste, he sees the hunger in Hinata’s eyes and just relates to him so quickly. He understands what Hinata is feeling and in a show of respect to Hinata and his own feelings yells at his teammates for not giving 100%. It’s a passionate moment that shows just how similar Kageyama and Hinata are in terms of absolute hunger for the game, it’s almost a smack in the face for their teammates not to try their hardest at all times because they do it themselves.
Kageyama has never taken Hinata lightly, despite them starting at vastly different playing fields. It’s what makes him such a great deuteragonist slash rival.
"And those with lofty goals who hesitate to be selfish will likely not brute force open the road to growth the way Hinata does. Those who want to be the best need to be a little self interested. It's no crime whatsoever to put yourself first." YES, ABSOLUTELY
"he had nothing but scraps to work with" damn that's so good and true. hinata is one of a heck strong and brave kiddo. not because he was a monster in the court, but with how he worked his butt off to be like that. to fight and strive like hinata despite having almost nothing is such a strong and brave thing to do.
I’m trying so hard not to read the manga since I want to enjoy the rest of haikyuu anime only. Your vids without the manga spoilers mean so much to me thanks
Of course! I know a great deal of the audience are anime-only so I try to mix in some videos that are spoiler friendly with the ones that spoil things.
I was like you till the end of first part of season 4. I felt let down with the new adaptation and switched to manga, i do not regret that at all. My god, especially the final arc. That last game was phenomenal, its art was the best the author of Haikyuu ever produced. After the end of season 4 entirely? I do not think the anime with the current new director and staff could give the final arc justice. Only if the old staff comes back there might be a chance.
@@mohamedab9033 I agree and disagree. I agree because the latter part of season 4 had animation issues that really bugged me, but I disagree because the best animation of season 4 surpasses the best animation of any of the other seasons in my opinion. They had INSANE potential, but lacked consistency. I blame covid and having the change smack in the middle of the pandemic. HOWEVER, hopefully they get back on track and keep the current design as this is the same as the manga and it would be amazing.
Brooo trust me it’s worth every second to read the manga after the game vs ushijima I didn’t wanted to read it but before season 4 I decide to read it and damn even tho knowing what was going to happen in season 4 i cried watching the anime by the growth of hinata and tanaka
From my experience, DO NOT READ THE MANGA. Knowing who is going to win, and which crazy moments are coming, took away a lot of the anime experience for me. I implore you, be patient for the anime to be made, and be open for the surprises! It makes it so much more hype! You may have a fun time reading the manga, but it severely (but not completely) takes away from the anime experience.
We never really go into Hinata's thoughts and feelings much compared to the secondary characters (Asahi, Kageyama, Tsuki etc). But I never minded cause Hinata grew up to be the type of character that lives in the present. It's not that Hinata doesn't experience pain and lost, but because he uses the memories of pain as fuel for his fire it's like the bad memories get turned into good memories, just another step to the top. Hinata Shoyou helped me so much re contextualize my own high school memories. Seeing them as teaching moments, as learning moments, instead of only painful and shameful. When I graduated my parents also said to me "What have you been doing for 3 years?" and it hurt me so much. I wasn't able to use that memory as fuel and like Tsuki I became cynical and afraid to try. Even now I'm deathly afraid of wasting time and afraid of being left behind. But Haikyuu helped me so much. Anger can be useful, competition can be healthy, be grateful for every set, life is fair and also unfair.
yeah same. i'm nowhere close to finishing high school yet, but before haikyuu i never understood on enjoying the present. it really did make me realise how important is to focus on the present, and use the past as fuel for the future.
I also really love how Washijo really and truly coached Hinata during the ball boy arc. We already know that as a coach Washijo is - to put it kindly - reliant on tough love, and it shows in how much he yelled at Hinata the entire time. It's an odd relationship, to be sure, but they really do understand each other I think 😂
I don't think he coached him during the arc. All he learned he learned through his own observations and not because of Washijo but despite of him. At that point in the story the coach was totally opposed to Hinata. Its only later in the manga, after the Inzaraki match that he lest go of his own bias completely.
I know combat sports probably can’t be compared to volleyball but as an amateur MMA fighter I really relate to Hinata’s hunger for fun and improvement. There’s nothing like the rush from getting the hang of a different aspects of a sport you absolutely love.
In all honesty if you dont feel like hinata in some way when doing a sport you’ll never become good at it. I personally loved baseball in my highschool life through out victory and loss because the game meant everything to me. I wish you the best of luck with your grind bro👏🏼🔥
I had to actually sit and take time to watch this, because I knew that I would cry. Hinata is by far one of my favorite characters in anime/manga and this describes so well why I love him so much. Thanks for the video!
From inexperienced player to pro, he's truly inspiring. He knows the disadvantages of his own height, but he believed in himself, to his setter and his teammates. He's working so so hard to improve himself, since he knows he's still lacking. All throughout his journey from season 1-4, all those improvements is the result of his hardwork, but he still want to push himself to level up more. He's not satisfied yet, he's not hesitating trying new things. Honestly, I'm clueless why some hq fans hates him. Yeah, there's some part that he's embarrassing, but It's such a petty reason to hate him. Especially when some fans discrediting him or not acknowledging him as the main character of his own show. Hinata is such an inspirational character. Because of Haikyuu, mainly because of Hinata. I'm gonna try my luck in Volleyball when it's already face to face. I tried playing before, but I'm scared of the ball. I got some spring too, and not too tall like Hinata. But unlike him, my stamina has limits. But I got so inspired by him, I can relate to him the most. So I'm not going easy to those fans who will disrespect Hinata Shoyo.
I really love how you are able to express the thoughts in my mind. As a person who deeply relate in Hinata's hunger for being able to play as many games as humanly possible, and not having a set of friends, teammates, nor means to satiate this hunger; is by far the worst experience I have ever had. Right now as a guy who is in his late 20s, I deeply regret that I did not act bolder and braver like Hinata. It is this same reason why I deeply attached to his character. Winning is not the goal but is simply the means to continue doing what you love.
i will never forget chapter 365. "endings and beginnings part.2" and the reality check i had while reading it (volume 41 as a whole is an amazing piece of storytelling!) i have nothing but admiration for hinata and his absolute passion for volleyball, his journey is genuinely inspiring. even though luffy will probably remain my idol til the day i die, the greatest decoy is UP THERE with shigeo from mob psycho.
16:29 “What can Hinata bring to the table?” I believe this is something most humans ask them selves. I know I ask my self this. It can be in a job interview situation, for your own personal growth or in a relationship. What. Can. You. Bring. To. The. Table? I’m a teenager so for me that phrase also implies ‘what is one of my purposes in life?’ Or ‘what do I want to be my purpose?’. This is one of the reason I like Haikyuu. You can use their hunger for Volleyball for a hunger for life it self.
@@maxanderson3733 Wait that's a bit weird. What is there about him to hate..? I didn't like him that much but there's nothing he does that makes him hateable.
This is why I love Haikyuu’s ending, they kept it open-ended but in essence our main characters achieved their goals of playing volleyball, as being a pro means that they’re playing for a living. Kageyama and Hinata are equals playing at the top of the sport. Even in Karasuno Hinata still is behind Kageyama in his goal, cause being a middle blocker he had to rotate out which equals to having less time in the court. And then the fever at Kamomedai happened and Hinata realized that to stay in the game takes more than just being good in the court, but also being able to manage oneself and stay healthy. After the timeskip Hinata achieved all he wanted. he started playing wing spiker and gets to play the whole match. And he knows how to manage himself to be at his tip top shape. There’s so many little details in Haikyuu. When you touched on greed and selfishness we could also see that the players that made it to the top are ones that are selfish (Oikawa especially). I think we all need a little selfishness cause in the end of the day, as Akaashi said; “we are the protagonists of the world”. The Jackals vs Adlers match was to show the peak of Haikyuu where the “monsters” reached their peak potential and play in the highest level. On top of that, the arc lived up to Akaashi’s quote, every character got a chapter dedicated to them.
Hinata Shoyo is my favorite anime protagonist ever. From his hunger to grow, his desire to keep playing and learning more, his sunshine personality and his quirkiness... He warms my heart and I can honestly that I have teared up watching and reading his journey. It was like watching my son or little brother becoming better and better at something you always knew he loved.
If there is a perfect example of a character almost single-handedly (others do contribute but not so much..) influencing the main character's character arc, for me it is Kageyama doing it for Shoyo...
They have the most influence on each other in a very good way and that's the f*cking beauty of Haikyuu, damn. I often cry thinking about how wonderfully crafted haikyuu is. 😭😭😭
I had to stop six minutes in since you mentioning Hinata's refusal to plateau and his at times selfish tunnel vision for reaching that next level is my favorite thing about him and barely anyone ever mentions it. It's like you took the words right out of my brain.
Spoilers ahead..... . . . . . . . . . Shoyo is such an inspiration, he didn't have the means but he kept trying, constantly pushing and improving himself without becoming a frustrated or grumpy person. He never gave up, he wasn’t like “I can’t do this because I don’t have this or the other”. Even later in the manga when he goes to Brazil and sees that Kageyama and Atsumu go to the Olympics first (which I imagine must have been hard for him), he keeps pushing himself to become better. As always, great analysis, I didn’t realize he was somewhat selfish as well (but like you say, nothing wrong with that). I’m also very impress about Kageyama’s advice to Shoyo, it definetly showed he respected him. I have a picture of Shoyo in my textbooks so whenever I’m tired and I wanna give it all up, I get inspired once again by him (like Atsumu said, I’m moved).
The interesting point about it is that this seems like the end point of his growth, but really, it's just like the beginning. Like you said, now he has the platform and all of the tools. Let's see where he goes from here.
What’s amazing about your videos is that you do not fall into the trap a lot of other video essayists fall into. Random points and assumptions tangled together through the use of flowery language trying to prove a none existent point or argument about a certain theme or plot point, even if what’s shown on screen never happened. However you actually provide evidence and reasoning for why X is Y, or why Y does that X.
God, your Haikyuu videos are always so amazing! I could watch every single of them every day and never get bored. I'm really glad that you're talking about Hinata, as I can relate to him a lot. Everyone talks about Oikawa, but tend to neglect the very, very amazing development of Hinata, which is such a crime. The desire to keep playing, the hunger to improve, to do *anything* to keep staying on that court... it's a feeling I didn't think could be explained before. But after witnessing Hinata, and understanding more through your videos, I can fully say that there's no better example of a monster.
Thanks so much, that's really awesome and flattering to hear. The Ballboy arc was so good in demonstrating how much of a monster he is, definitely unsurpassed in that regard in my eyes and only rivalled by a select few.
Spoilers: Heck even in his final rally against Kamomedai where he does that insane back row attack we get a glimpse of the monster he later becomes. That final set was Hinata’s peak as a first year and got me hype for what was to come.
@@emanchi8403 yeah, that's what Iwas referring to, not really the post timeskip stuff. There I truly felt like we were witnessing the peak of its growth, a truly worthy partecipant to the monster festival.
I can't frigging wait for the post timeskip match to be animated. I've reread that arc several times even after the manga ended and I got chills everytime.
Starting Haikyuu, I seriously didn't expect Hinata to be one of my top protagonists. Well, here we are, and I'm just waiting for the final match in the manga to be animated.
Washijo is really a perfect example of The fox & the grapes. The fox, being unable to reach the grapes despite trying over and over will tell themselves why am I trying so hard for some disgusting sour grapes anyways. "There are many who pretend to despise and belittle that which is beyond their reach."
I'm also impressed by Kageyama's reaction upon knowing Hinata worked as a ball boy. Kageyama did not look down upon him. People always assume that the best route gives the most fruit. Kageyama does not think with that mindset. He believes that with Hinata's determination, he can always excel even if he takes the route less taken.
Im at the 16:53 mark and when you were saying it was the exhale during the ball boy arc, my mind went right to when he did that pass. He was Allowing his teammates to EXHALE! He had learned to truly give to his team. There was a moment at the very beginning of the show where Kageyama asked Hinata if he had ever seen a match on tv. He had only seen the one with the Little Giant. With that, he had never got a chance to see the whole court. Then when he was on a team, he was sent into a certain role, and again not getting the full view. Thanks to the ball boy arc he is allowed to truly take in the whole game that he loves. Great video and deep dive as always.
Every-time I watch this videos and all your other videos, you constantly motivate me to keep pushing and to keep going on my path as a little giant. It’s tough cause as a 5’4 spiker trying for my club team in community college and wanting to be a pro, you have to be tall and you have to be strong from the very beginning, which is something I don’t have. So my self doubt and insecurities build up. But when I face that wall and start to fall, I watch your videos and it helps push me back up and reignite my belief in myself. So I just want to sincerely say thank you because without your videos I would’ve given up and stopped on the path of becoming a little giant. Currently I’m still going for my goal, and I don’t have any intentions of stopping here on out.
Everytime you post something about any anime, it provides so much depth that I understood subconsciously but I couldn't see it clearly. And I'm really grateful to you for showing this depth which I didn't think about much. Thank you.
That training arc made me SO DAMN HAPPY. I kept saying to myself "Yeah he is athletic, fast, can jump high, and his hunger is unmatched.... But he's not actually GOOD at volleyball." Seeing Hinata actually THINK the game and how that excited him JUST as much as spiking would, filled me with a sense of jubilation I didn't think a training arc could. I love this damn anime! Now only if we could get an arc where he works on his damn serve.....
exactly! it's physically impossible for me to not appreciate this type of character, whenever i watch the first ep. of the series and see how alone he was at first i get very emotional.
Washijo despite himself, he reflected himself in Hinata and deep down wondered if Hinata could surpass the same barriers that crushed him in his youth. That's why he subjected Hinata to the same hell he endured, not being able to play volleyball, not knowing that Hinata already kinda endured that same hell but needing to go back to it to know the roots of his ills and restraints as a player.
Hinata is a MC that I didn't really like at first (Thought he was to loud and over extruded) But as the series progresses from the first few minutes of ep 1 I started taking a liking to him more and more and was happy to see him grow and evolve both on the court and outside of it in the team. He is definitely one of my favorite Mc's nowadays, and I love his bond with Kagiama and Nishinoya 😊
Hinata is the character I was sympathising and relating the most. As you said yourself, he was raised in a place where there is no volleyball and going to an extent just to play it, which I did too and that is why I relate to him so much. Now I'm currently playing beach volleyball and I am having lots of fun, I hope soon to find a vb club and probably, I hope to, pursue volleyball as a career one day
Amazing content as always! Working in the field of sport psychology and being a fan of anime I love how you psychologically breakdown Haikyuu. One of my favourite sports anime with Hajime no ippo
I really cant thank you enough for all those Haikyuu essais ! Knowing all too well how the rest of the story will unfold, i absolutely cannot wait for you to analyze the upcomings arcs ! I know you've read the rest of the story, and im sure a "Hinata Shoyo : The Birth of a Monster 2" will come one day or another :D ! I do wonder if you were interested in making essais directly on the manga, or if you wanted to wait for the anime to catch up ?
I’m definitely waiting for certain parts to be adapted for certain videos. For instance I’d like to cover Bokuto or Hoshiumi, but the adapted material just doesn’t cover nearly enough. But for characters like Atsumu, who have already played a major role, I tend to compromise and add the manga panels in the video towards the end like I did for that video.
Excellent video, I particularly loved the juxtaposition of Tsukki's and Hinata's big moments as these are my two favorite scenes in haikyuu! You always make me cry and remember why I love this show so much with your Haikyuu videos, excellent stuff!
Thank you for the video. I'm in a dark place in pursuing my dreams. I loved Haikyuu and how well Furudate wrote it. However, I love the fact that you're the only one who could write video essays to truly dissect Furudate's idea. Thank you, this video gave me a small breath to stand back up and chase my dreams
haikyuu is one of my favorite shows. though it appears light-hearted at first, it's so much more than that. i've always felt there was just something brilliant about haikyuu that i was never able to put into words. but, i do know the characters are a big part of it. especially, the protagonist, hinata shoyo. i absolutely love his development and especially so, when ppl acknowledge his talents. he's rlly rlly fascinating. thank you so much for creating this video. it means a lot. also, will you do a kageyama one? hehe

.... And I just realized, the words Takeda sensei said to hinata in 16:49 is the one he framed on his bedroom wall in Brazil, oh my God...!!!!! /sobs again harderrrr/
Well, there were two versions that I read. One was "A journey of a million miles begins with a single step" But the one translated by viz (i guess??) was exactly like what takeda sensei said: "He who would climb the ladder must begin at the bottom."
Your videos often leave tears in my eyes. Thank you so much for this wonderful analysis! I love love love Haikyuu and I'm happy there's a person like you whose amazing work can show all the great things about this story
thank you for this incredible video essay. brilliant as always!! I really appreciate how you also use panels from the manga when you talk about key scenes - the art is as powerful and breathtaking as the first time I read it *~* can’t have people sleeping on it!
Manga spoilers ahead: That whole part were you mention how sneaking into the training camp made me think, that when hinata goes to Brazil, it’s the same thing, he willingly takes 50 steps back to move forward. Great video man!
all your analysis of the haikyuu characters give me a better understanding of their character, thank you and keep up the outstanding work, this vid reminded me why i love hinata so much

You dude are awesome. Can't wait for more seasons of Haikyuu to come & you making a video the journey of a energetic kid to ninja.
I always fulfilled my energy thanks to Shoyo. Because i am small too, i have those disadvantageous things because of my environment, family etc. I thought giving up nearly every single day. But watching Shoyo... I ashamed on myself when i see how he never stops against all odds. Believe or not, Shoyo saved up my life.
I've wanted to watch this video for a while but the dub for the forth season was yet to be found I'm so glad I was able to finally watch it and see the awesomeness!
I remember starting Haikyuu in 2014 and assuming that Hinata was just another dumb but enthusiastic (run-of-the-mill, if you will) shounen protagonist. (I suppose that he still is, but he's *also* much more than that). He was never my favourite character throughout the manga's 10-year serialization period, but he was always a great source of inspiration. I remember the overwhelming secondhand embarrassment I got when he snuck into the training camp (and re-lived that embarrassment again when it was animated), but somehow, I _still_ felt supportive of his (questionable) choices because of his unchallengeable drive. There's something truly commendable about someone who is always moving forward and always pursuing a singular goal, regardless - or even in spite of - of their results. Anyway, I love @Aleczandxr's videos on Haikyuu, and they always make my day.
I take down notes watching your videos. Your ease of explanation and narration of complex thought trains is fascinating. Your writing gives me the chills. So much to learn here. :)
Wow, that's extremely flattering and kind of you to say! To be clear however, just know for full disclosure that I'm no professional - I only have a minor education in writing and all of what I do is self-taught, so I shouldn't be viewed as some authority or anything. Having said that, thanks so much for watching so intently and actively, I'm so glad you enjoy the videos :)
That ladder quote is so hard to understand when you’re young. Luckily, or unluckily, I’ve had a very full life (not always good) and understand this a little better now.
If kageyama is the king of the court than hinata is the emperor, the monster. What I found is that sports mangas/series mcs are usually monsters themselves, in series filled with phenomenal and godly monster characters it’s always the mc who keep my heart beating! Kuroko was a monster in a series filled with other monsters that held aomine and Akashi, the mc from prince of tennis, the one from ace of diamonds! What I’m getting at is that sports series are filled monster characters but the mcs are the monsters themselves and hinata is a monster himself, he was always a monster.
Watching this makes me love this character even more. I can relate to Hinata so much that I live everyday wanting to improve myself to form the best that I am. Everyday I look for a challenge for both personal growth and towards my future career
Great video. I never really thought of Hinatas and Kageyamas first encounter like this. But seeing Kageyama as the first one to really believe in Hinata makes just soooo much sense and makes me appreciate both Hinata but also Kageyama so much more than I already did. Thanks for that perspective.
Yep. It's honestly refreshing how Hinata subverts the typical relationship most characters have towards their sport. Winning is just a means to the end of being able to continue to play tvolleyball, whereas in most cases, playing would be the means of achieving victory/proving their proficiency or dominance.
You put it perfectly, winning is just the vehicle for hinata
Whenever I think of Hinata I just think of how in the span of two episodes, he encouraged Yachi to take hold of her life, and then almost injured himself and Asahi because of his narrow vision and selfish hunger. He's got multiple sides to him.

in the first minutes, it reminded me of what Kageyama's grandpa told him "if you get really good someone even better will come and find you" it gave me chills that maybe after their middle school tournament when Hinata declare war with him he was thinking about exactly what his grandpa told him.
Yep, that was what I was trying to allude to without spoiling the anime-only watchers.
Same here. His grandpa's words is one of the haikyuu quotes that stuck to me the most. and of course, it'd resurface in my brain whenever I witness anything related to kageyama/hinata's growth and their little competitions. damn, those challenger bastards. i love them so much....... 😭😭😭💓💓💓

I mean, tbf, Hinata is literally all those things
ballboy arc is such an amazing arc. hinata grew so much from the training. i really can't understand the people who said it was boring. i loved the arc from the very first time i read it, i wished it was longer, and even now it is one of my favourites.
same here!!!
i guess the difference comes from the purpose each person have on watching haikyuu.
if they seek just the fun and thrill of the plays, then ball boy arc isn't to their taste.
but if we seek for something deeper-a true story, or the real story behind a story-then ball boy is one of the most satisfying and touching to watch!!!
even i still can't believe how much, how drastic my love for hinata grows after the ball boy arc, my heart still throbs whenever i think of it.
@@moonhajung6742 I love the story as a whole
I like seeing the characters interact and train and then I also like the matches
I like a good mix of those things
I love how seriously Kageyama takes Hinata from the start. Thank you so much for the video!
No problem 😊
Hope you achieve every success out there
This is a false statement as we do see hinatas thoughts and emotions several times throughout the manga.
"hinata is never someone to settle" your words are soo good and right on pointt
Thank you!
@@katara2021 I agree he really didn't want hinata there lol
I know combat sports probably can’t be compared to volleyball but as an amateur MMA fighter I really relate to Hinata’s hunger for fun and improvement. There’s nothing like the rush from getting the hang of a different aspects of a sport you absolutely love.
In all honesty if you dont feel like hinata in some way when doing a sport you’ll never become good at it. I personally loved baseball in my highschool life through out victory and loss because the game meant everything to me. I wish you the best of luck with your grind bro👏🏼🔥

"We haven't lost yet"
Chills literal chills literally the definition of it's not over til it's over 👑
I had to actually sit and take time to watch this, because I knew that I would cry. Hinata is by far one of my favorite characters in anime/manga and this describes so well why I love him so much. Thanks for the video!
Glad you enjoyed it! You're very welcome.
Hinata makes me want to cry.
Fuck you and your manga spoilers
Agreed! Except I think he's a lot better than Mob for his journey being a lot more expansive
16:29 “What can Hinata bring to the table?”
I believe this is something most humans ask them selves.
I started out not liking Hinata much, but he's just so damn infectious it's impossible to not stan.
Ong, never disliked but he always so basic to me, but even so it’s adoring and how can you not enjoy someone genuinely working so hard

“Life is unfair to everyone, therefore, life is fair.”
Sheesh this quote hits diff
Sorry m8. This quote sounds cool as heck but i totally disagree with this.
but it can be much more unfair to some, therefore, life is not fair.
"Unfairness the only thing imposed fairly on all of us"
@@jetrouski76 let's rephrase that. "Life is unfair on giving unfairness to all, therefore life is fair"
I don't think I will ever love a Protagonist like I love Shoyo.🧡
I have many favorites but he holds a very special place.
kunimi mvp of ball boy arc, the whole theme of "let's take it easy" came from him
great video btw
Cheers!
Honestly the greatest protagonist in Shonen storytelling
Hinata IS shonen
Easily the best MC

Thanks very much! I'm glad that you enjoy that aspect of them, there always has to be some sort of basis for the points.
And we still haven't seen animated to what extent he can become truly monstrous.
Maybe in like 4 years, and another 2 years to end it.
Spoilers:
Heck even in his final rally against Kamomedai where he does that insane back row attack we get a glimpse of the monster he later becomes.

We've still got two matches before that final match, plus Fukuro :'(
@@justmyopinion79 Not a terrible wait though. All three of those matches are amazing imo.
@@zigludosama Very true, I've seen some say that Kamomedai and/or Nekoma are the best.

Washijo is really a perfect example of The fox & the grapes. The fox, being unable to reach the grapes despite trying over and over will tell themselves why am I trying so hard for some disgusting sour grapes anyways. "There are many who pretend to despise and belittle that which is beyond their reach."
after all this monster talk, mr alec finally made a vid about THE monster
Gotta love it when my favorite youtube talks about my favorite show. Thanks for the vid!
My pleasure!
Best moment in the series, that exhale. He learned so much.
We now have the birth of a monster.
I can't wait for the rise when the timeskip happens.
Thank you.
My pleasure, thank you for letting me know and I'm delighted to hear that :)
So much can be said from a single character from a single series created by a single person, no wonder the world is so complicated.
Chapter 281 always gives me chills. It will forever be one of my favorite pieces of fiction
agree! along the likes of ch.163/277/278/282/285/322/365 (even ch.400 in the latest arc!). haikyu is just SO good.
I love this show and all your analyses. The combination of both just makes me want to push harder and harder to be the best musician I can be.
:)
Furudate’s writing and character development is SO good, it’s basically flawless!
His character got an amazing close in the final chapter
Hinata always begging for scraps since the beginning legit makes me so sad but also inspired. YuY so happy he remained so well written till the end.
exactly! it's physically impossible for me to not appreciate this type of character, whenever i watch the first ep. of the series and see how alone he was at first i get very emotional.
You know like they say, the most beautiful flowers are the ones that grow on devastated lands.
DAMNIT IM SO READY FOR THIS ANIME TO START UP AGAIN SO ALL OF YOU BEAUTIFUL PPL CAN SEE THE GREATNESS LOCKED AWAY AFTER THE INARIZAKI MATCH.
FINALLY. I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR ONE ON HINATA
That distinction is huge. Winning to be able to play the game you love more not just for the sake of showing you're the best.

"Hinata: The Ultimate Monster Amongst The Monster Generation"

Hinata is definitely my favorite character from Monster
Hinata isnt in monster
I take down notes watching your videos. Your ease of explanation and narration of complex thought trains is fascinating. Your writing gives me the chills. So much to learn here. :)

I'm so glad I started watching this series a year ago, amazing stuff.
The way u composed ur video in the beginning was magnificent❤
you’re just voicing all of my thoughts in a much more articulate way than i ever could have and i love it
YOU GIVE ME LIFE WITH THESE HAIKYUU VIDEOS!!! MUCH LOVE
Happy to help😊
You’re very welcome.
