Elvis on his way to the Ed Sullivan show walking from the car to the venue a fan asked to sign an album, TV executive told Elvis "we don't have time" he shot back "she took the time to buy it I'm taking the to sign it" He would also say "Once people stop asking for autographs it's time to start worrying"
Great video ! There is a video on UA-cam of Lzzy Hale of Halestorm in which she talks about when they opened up for Dio. She saw him spending time signing and taking photos outside his tour bus. He told her you won't remember this night , But for those fans that you've met. They will never forget.
Tommy's just a grumpy old man now, when he was flinging out those autographs back during the party days ,he didn't give a crap what you did with them, now he like .."git off my lawn"
Sure Tommy worked hard to get get where he's at. I'm not a fan but if someone like KISS tells me to fuck off I don't have time for you kinda shit, Then it would certainly devastate me and mentally crush me ! Please Tommy remember that THE FANS DID AND DO HAVE CREDIT FOR YOUR ROCK STARDOM !!!
I use to always try and meet the bands after/before shows and get something signed. I met the Misfits right before a gig in early 90's. It was spur of the moment so I had nothing to sign on me. My friends cousin dove off stage during opening act and hit his head. Security let us take him out the side door for some air and there was The Misfits. Had them sign my shirt(which happened to be my favorite Misfits shirt I cut the sleeves off of). Anyways long story short I ended up still wearing it like normal because it was my favorite shirt and the autographs slowly faded to oblivion.
Hi Andy, fellow East Coaster & Italian paisan. You have to do an episode on when you met Micheal Sweet. I've had my share of meeting celebrities, he's one of them..lol. .maybe one episode on all celebrities you met to date.
Tommy Lee hasn't given a fuck about his fans in 25 years. Ever since rap came about and made big steps he has been hooked and out of the heavy metal drumming scene for good.
Tommy stopped taking photos with fans after he went to pick up his dead mothers ashes and the girl who was working the counter asked him to take a selfie with her. He then said hey if I see you out in public i'll shake your hand, give you a high five, sign an autograph, whatever. Just no more pictures. He quit doing paid meet and greets with the other 3 members on the MC tours because he didnt want to take money from his fans. Instead he would hide backstage passes outside the venue and tweet clues as to where they were. His real fans could find them and then come backstage after the show to meet him. For years he tweeted and advertised his mailing address and told his fans to send their shit in and he sign it. He made IG videos of him signing the fan mail and personalized every item. Finally after seeing a ton of autographed shit on ebay with the personalized names obviously rubbed off he finally has had enough it seems. Cant say I blame him. Sounds to me like he's the only guy that did things the right way and the actions of others spoiled it for everyone else. I met him once a few years back and he was cool as shit, also got my memorabilia signed before he cut everyone off. I would say he doesn't hate his fans... just shitty people.
I'm a fan that does like to have autographed stuff. I've been to Horror conventions and have paid. Tommy Lee doesn't have to take pictures or sign shit. He just doesn't but to go around being an asshole about it is what bothers me. I think Amy was right. Set it up on your website where fans can purchase autographed items and I'm sure he'd make a shit load more money. I'd like to have my "Shout At The Devil" and "Too Fast For Love" vinyl signed by the band but I'm not going to go out of my way to do it. Tommy has been famous for most of his life and doesn't think like the rest of us and it's fucked up but that's the reality of it. He's a millionaire, famous, and has a giant weenie. Isn't that enough, Tommy? Don't be a weenie to your fans. Great discussion and video guys.
I never cared about getting autographs. I have met several rock stars and sure some were jerks but I didn’t hold it against them. Everyone has bad days. I just liked meeting them.
It's like in my case, my hero is bam margera always has been since I was a little kid. That being said I could never meet him but I wanted his autograph so I'm happy someone put his autograph on ebay because I got to buy it and I'd never sell it lol
Alice Cooper, Doyle, Elvira and others were awesome to me in person. I've been lucky to have pretty good horror and rock star meets. I get all of my autographs personalized. After I'm dead, they will just be thrown out anyway 🤣☠💀☠
He also dont know that persons situation.. The "fan" may not have wanted to part with it but may have had to... Could be situation like me, who is a single full time dad. Who is supporting 2 daughters and has been out of work since march 13th... Who still hasnt recieved stimulus and denied unemployment... So that autograph couldve kep someones lights on, or put a little food in their pantry, or any number of things...
Not a fan of Motley Crue but I agree do not meet your idols. I’ve met a few and some were cool but some were not. I too like Andy have thrown out entire collections after meeting some of these people. It is really sad and when it happens to you it is heart breaking. Shame on Tommy Lee and all the musicians like him.
Stevenlynn...Timothy Gaines from Stryper cock blocked the middleman. HE charges for his . AND Vince DID charge for pre-signed 8×10 glossy color prints on a Solo tour 21 years ago as well.
Kiss...music? They are sooooo washed up I wouldn't give asshole Gene one red Penny. My best friend was in the RHOADS BAND with Kelle and knows the Crue and he is the FURTHEST from that. John "Gumby" Goodwin y'all! Peep him out! Nick Menza ( R.I.P. bro) drummed for them pre-Megadeth. NEVER sold ANY of my 100's of autographs.
Tommy Lee can *F* off! I've had the chance and been fortunate to meet some of my Heroes( so-to-speak). For example: Horror Conventions to concerts. A majority I have met have been awesome in person. However there are a few that have been rude, awful, arrogant, etc....etc. Tom Savini was absolutely rude in person.I've met Doyle three times . He is different every time. Collecting autographs are fun and exciting. Meeting the person who signs them, that's the coolest part. I've met some celebrities two or three times and they are not always the same when meeting them. In terms of how they react to fans'. George A. Romero, Bruce Campbell, Michael Berryman, Sid Haig, Tom Atkins, all have been gracious. Ashley Laurence(Hellraiser) not so nice. I think it depends on a celebrities mood. I just remembered. Gunnar Hansen( R.I.P.) was probably one of the most gracious celebrities I have met. A true Gentleman 🤟🏻🎃
I agree, autographs are similar to Gold & Diamonds pretty much worthless BUT there dumb fools out there willing to pay a lot of Money. Make it NOT rare & sign a lot. John Lennon who was a prick many know didn't sign much so his autographs go for a lot. I always thought that I would be Cool to the Fans & Sign many autographs. I don't agree with paid meet & Greets.
I love you guys. So glad I found your channel. I’m a Motley Crue fan from birth (83) but Tommy makes me want to give up on them. If it’s not trump bashing it’s the very thing you are talking about. I hate that I spent so much on tickets to the new stadium tour but I kinda hope it’s canceled because I will not spend another dime towards them because of Mr “don’t ask me for shit” he hasn’t always been so lucky. Remember Tommy goes to college? Lol. Don’t shit where ya eat. Keep up the amazing videos y’all. Love from Oklahoma.
Anyone has a right to say no to signatures, and anyone who actually pays for autographs needs to get a life. But yes Tommy was always a jackass and I care less about anything Motley Crue has done in over 30 years.
Thanks for posting! If you have a second, we posted a cover of Van Halen. As fellow music lovers, we'd love if you would take a listen. It's on our channel. Don't be too tough on us :)

Tommy had a guy at the meet n greets saying to fans, "You're shaking his hand too hard, don't do that, he's fragile, etc." What an ass!
TRUTH.
Just discovered your video.
Addicted.
Loved the CHRISTIAN DEATH & MISFITS vids.

My brother met Vince & Mick ..he had pictures of Tommy & Nikki ignoring the fans heading to the hotel lobby..this was 1984.

Tommy was super cool to me in 97. Like super cool. More than once.
Tommy stopped taking photos with fans after he went to pick up his dead mothers ashes and the girl who was working the counter asked him to take a selfie with her. Met him when i was younger..he was so cool to me ..went out of his way for me..still have my drum mags signed by him
I agree he is closed minded and has squandered millions. His house for sale no tour he should start selling autographs until big tour cranks up.
I wouldn't give Tommy Lee a corny turd. I think his kid kicks his ass, literally...

I assumed you were a Crue fan Andy, weren't you wearing their pentagram shirt in the I Vampyre video?
True...love the shout record....but that's about it for me....🎃
Tommy has consistently been most Motley fans least favorite member.
Good commentary
I never cared about getting autographs. I have met several rock stars and sure some were jerks but I didn’t hold it against them. Everyone has bad days. I just liked meeting them.
Free publicity to keep the Crüe name in the press. And place more value on VIP ticket packages on their next tour. Business as usual
We have a winner!!

Agreed
I saw them girls tour and kinda feel sad falling from grace. Reduce ticket prices to repent!
One time back in the 90s i met jerry only ( got his autograph 😀) and then he told i need to find Jesus and to stop doing drugs 😆😀😁😂🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂best...story....EVER!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
I wanna hear the michael sweet story !

..and it's really his career he's grenading.
Meh..that's Motley Crue. They've been that way since the start. If you didn't know that or feel that from the start..that's on you
I agree, autographs are similar to Gold & Diamonds pretty much worthless BUT there dumb fools out there willing to pay a lot of Money. Make it NOT rare & sign a lot. And the last time John gave a fan the time of day and gave him a signed autograph of his latest album that man came back and shot him 6 hours later!

MC are the most overrated band ever.....Never was a fan.
