Oh hello there dear commenter, while you're here, would you kindly hit the like button? Also, I have once again missed another opportunity to say in a video "please play Rayman 3". So please play it.
Hi Mug, I don't know where you got the idea that Google translate is the most amazing tech got translating around, but that's wrong. It may be good for some commonly spoken languages, but not so much for many others, including east Asian languages. It is functional and literal, but often grammar is a big tell: a native speaker will understand the words, but they'll also understand you aren't a native speaker, and you are using a translator. Since you're American, I assume you're monolingual, so these may have been things you overlooked.
@@Drophinoia that was as sarcastic as I could make it, but I’ll put on a sillier voice next time. I also call the entire thing gaslighting about 20 seconds later.
@@DrophinoiaHilarious that you seem to be on some “high horse” about being bilingual, yet you can’t even grasp simple sarcasm… Maybe you should study up on your English more before you try and correct people.
Rayman 3. total nostalgia. wish we have more adventure games. why didn't ubisoft even made a new rayman 4 game. they have all that new mechanics and such! capcom will do the same to bring back mega man legends 3
Keep voting with your wallet, guys! These companies cant survive without it. Don't preorder, dont buy broken products, we can do this! This is the first step to real change in the industry 🥂
real change lol. Have you seen Ghost of Wokeness? Soon the video game industry is just gunna be indies. Lets bring down SuckerPunch! Also Insomnia having gay shit all over and Next God of War is gunna be cooked...hell it all started with GoW2018
"Ubisoft's board is launching an investigation into the company struggles." Meanwhile the entire community pointing out the red flags at them for the better part of a decade. I guess they are that disconnected, pff.
Right! There’s literally no need for an investigation. The gaming community has been making videos about what they don’t like about their games for years now. They could just ask any random gamer and get a list of everything NOT to put in their next game. Hell, they could just copy their own work from AC1-3 and make a worthwhile game. But instead they make figurines with the broken Torii Gate and make a black Samurai beating ppl to death to rap music. Unreal 🤦♂️
@@mikedelgrande5296 i admit i'm a bit of a softie and i really want them to do well. i sincerely hope for some earnest attempt to make a positive change and learn from their mistakes, but then you reminded me about the broken torii gate toy... one look at that and you realize they're too far gone. they're beyond saving. it's better to just accept it, and move on. this will be quite a spectacle to bear witness to.
@@ethanfreeman1106 Same here man. I've been gaming since the 80s and grew up playing all the OG Assassin's Creed games. I'm also Italian so getting to play as Ezio was like the best gaming experience ever back in the day. I have history with Ubisoft so I really don't like watching them fail. I want to see them make fun and interesting games again. But it seems like they're getting further and further from that goal. They let AC fans down with Valhalla, Star Wars fans with Outlaws, and now all of Japan with Shadows. It's a shame that a Studio with so many resources has lost their way to this extent.
The last ubisoft game i bought was the first watchdogs and the last AC game I bought was black flag. I've not once felt the need to buy anything from them in the last 10 years.
Prince of Persia Trilogy is what drove me to PC gaming, and they become my favorite company when they made Assassin's Creed 2. I do not wish them to fail because they are close to my heart. I wish for them to listen to us gamers and to start making right decisions.
Not related, but I'm wondering what Capcom was smoking when they decided a 4060 for 1080p medium settings with frame generation were reasonable system requirements. The PS5 and Xbox are going to run that game at like 15 fps.
@@qu1253 Yea, that has me concerned we might have a Dragon's Dogma 2 situation again. Let's hope that they optimize it by then and update the requirements page.
I was partly looking forward to them trying to showcase Shadows in front of the culture it was based on, but seeing them canceling it right at the last second is enough for me. All the gaslighting, bot campaigns and general internet vitriol from individuals defending this title have this news fly straight into their face. I'm hoping this is the start of a positive change, but my wallet is remaining closed until the proof is shown regardless.
The "gamers should get comfortable not owning games" company FAFOed. Maybe these AAA game studios will finally get the message to stop delivering buggy games to consumers at a premium, insisting that we just shut up and consume their unfinished slop. Also there's the elephant in the room, that Ubisoft virtue signaled too close to the sun with this one, and they did so in a bizarrely orientalist way that was basically the opposite of 'woke.' What good are cultural consultants and sensitivity readers if they don't catch things like the one-legged torii gate?
"Ubisoft virtue signaled too close to the sun with this one" 100% true, but it makes me wish Europeans fought for their own culture as hard as they fight for Japan's... European culture has been getting blackened for generations like this Shadows slop. Look at Marvel blackening Asgard, look at Amazon's attempt at co-opting Tolkien's Anglo-Saxon mythology with the "Rangs of Powuh". Asians frankly need to get in line, because Caucasians have been receiving the Shadows treatment for much longer.
@@WeeG-bwc77 they abuse white-guilt. iirc there's scene in shadow where they brought slv to jp. they want to push narrative that jp also doing blk-slvry so they can push guilt to jp and act like victim too there.
The "cultural consultants" and "sensitivity readers" are the corporate political commissars we've seen in the Soviet Army. They are ideological enforcers meant to stifle any dissent against their subversive ideology. Is it any wonder cultures of "toxic positivity" abounds in so many of these DEI-infested corporations where out-of-touch cringe fest blunders like Concord are allowed to waste $400 million dollars in an epic flop? People are not allowed to challenge the bubble they are in, and they are not allowed to state that the emperor indeed is wearing no clothes.

I am genuinely old enough to remember taking a game off the shelf in a games store and asking, “So, is this game any good?” And the answer was, “It’s Ubisoft. Of course it’s good!” And that was not a laughable sentence. It carried weight! Does anyone else remember when Ubisoft wasn’t just good, but their name alone sold games? What happened?
If you are 30 years now or close to it you will definatly have played at least a few of ubisofts IP's as a child, because they just had soo many very succesfull franchises...and I fear a little for those IP's like Ghost Recon/Splinter Cell, that are not as much in the spotlight as AC is or maybe Far Cry...will we see any of those games again if Ubisoft fails completely or just a decade later? Wildlands and Breakpoint were actually really fun and immersive games after all the patches and updates.
as a native Japanese speaker, I can go ahead and say that google translate is still actually incredibly bad at translating english to Japanese and any longer phrases/sentences translated with it would be obvious to Japanese people. However, this does not disprove your point.
It’s a fantastic utility, but one must use it with care. One way I test the results is to feed the results back into the system to see if it returns the original phrase. If it doesn’t, then I redo it, from scratch when necessary (I often include the original English phrase in parentheses as well, knowing there are issues with the translation utilities.)
Let’s talk about the massacres of the Japanese Empire and then about their perfect civilization… as if the Japanese are some superior race to everyone and no one can put any kind of spin on a fictional story loosely inspired by Feudal Japan…
It is usually very obvious. A French dude trying to defend Ubisoft using a translator in youtube comment sections has been mocked by Japanese people and they even made a song for him just like they did for Yasuke. Search "フランセ君" and you'll see videos about the dude.
The "memes" will write themselves, side by side comparisons, etc.. Honestly, this can help AC a little bit. I really think Ubisoft overprice their stuff, the real price are the "promotions". So, here it comes Ghost 2 at $70 (absurd how this became the norm), at the same time you have Ghost 2 from Shopee at $40 or even $30, this is a desirable scenario for some people (especially Xbox and PC owners). Maybe Ubisoft is counting on that, same as they expect black friday of all things to salvage a open world Star Wars game, 30 bucks was the real price all along
i feel sorry for the western people. i like them. i even adopted a western name because i found it really cool. i still respect them for all the advanced technologies and all the scientific discoveries. but the more i found out about their cultures, or a lack thereof, the more disappointed i became. it's not just the western gaming industry, but the entire western media that's f**ked. it's all messed up. gender wars, racial wars, all kinds of nonsen politics, et cetera. now even entertainment, which was one of the western world's strongest points, is getting ruined. however it's not all bad, if you don't just consider the mainstream, the big names, the giant corporations. in fact, stop reading the news. get into communities, you'll see vibrant activities and people having fun with a ton of well crafted games, ones that are made with passion, and those that people actively enjoy even the process of making it. the indie scene. i promise you, it's not all bad. it's okay to feel frustrated or start to lose hope sometimes, when you see epic failures of integrity and a complete absence of soul, like some of the recent gaming updates, what with bethesda, sony, ubisoft and the likes. with dei, with sweet baby scandals, and other rubbish. the freaks. _(the great news is that while damages had to be done, the freaks have ousted themselves now. and they'll have nowhere to run, especially with how loud they can't help getting. the best thing to do is to ignore them and let them ruin themselves, because it's bound to happen. you don't even have to do anything, nature will take its course.)_ so let's focus on the positives. a vibrant gaming community, where at least some, if i'm trying to be modest, at least *some* that are passionate about the whole thing. devs and gamers alike. there are people who care. those who know how to have genuine fun. it's not the western gaming industry that's dying or deserving of apathy. it's a leadership problem. a company structure problem. an organizational problem. "a case of mistaken identities," if you will, that people who have no business making video games or any creative decisions of any kind, end up in the positions of authority. the entire industry isn't dying, it's just the old model of management that prioritizes profit over all other important things, that is effectively dying. when a cancer cell finally dies out, that's when the body starts to heal. there are devs who care, and i believe their efforts will eventually pay off. there are managers who have learned their lessons. investors who have wised up. we all had something to lose, but it gets better from here. behind that facade of apathy, i sense a faint scent of passion in you. you've come here and commented on this video, just like i do, because we're all the same. i'm excitedly looking forward to what's to come. aren't you?

Ubisoft's most expensive Assassin's Creed game is about to be its worst-selling mainline title, and I hope they understand that.
There is literally no way for the game to render that much moving objects at the exact same time, all games where you can cut object either do not allow you to cut object in dynamic ways or do not render the debris for long The idea that devs are lazy cause they don’t want to render hundreds of individual fast moving and big object is ridiculous, you people would be the first to complain if that caused performance problems

It's black history month in the US... Ubisoft is a French company and they're targeting a global audience with their game. Black history month isn't really a thing outside of the US, maybe in Canada. I think the only themed American month that is somewhat known outside of the US is the gay one.
@@RezaQin Giving you an option means recording twice as much dialog. They rolled the dice expecting people to praise them, unfortunately, times have changed quickly, and the public at large are turning against the solution looking for a problem that is DEI.
You say that (and I completely agree with you), yet a pretty good Prince of Persia sidescroller (made by the same studio who did most of the Rayman games) came out this year and still sold badly. Ubi just has bad marketing, when even their good games go unnoticed, but also because most people I know are trained to never buy an Ubi game at launch when they know it'll be $15 in a few months anyway
They don't, lets be honest. Prince of Persia is my favorite video-game series, Sands of Time is the most iconic game of my childhood... And PoP is not mainstream, hurts a lot to say that, but it's the reality. Rayman and Splinter Cell are also niched
They just release a AC Shadows figure with a broken Torii. The only one like that in Japan is used for the Nagasaki atomic bomb memorial. The company that release the toy is based in a city in China that just has a anti Japanese murder less than a week ago. Rumor is they are going back into the game and removing all the broken toriis.
Probably hire a real japan history expert in order to fix their mess before they get even more trouble. Worst case is that the japan gov decide to take them to court.
5 months is not enough to fix even 25% of what's wrong with this game. You would have to rewrite the main samurai character, actually do research and remodel all the structures, do research and redo the animations and behaviours, they even messed up the plants in the seasons XD There is no saving this game, unless they cancel it or start it from scratch. Ubisoft removed all mention of a refund in its Japanese announcement to Japan. They again made different announcements in English and Japanese. Does Ubisoft mean they won't let Japanese cancel? Did they "accidentally" make a mistake again? Or is it that there was practically no booking in Japan? In any case, Ubisoft's provocations against us Japanese seem to be continuing in this period.
Call me naïve but I do think this is the turning point for Ubisoft. It's been clear that nothing but the $$$ influences them, and the $$$ have spoken in recent months. They can't afford to faux-care, they HAVE to care, or die.
Nah, they follow the market trends (in contrast to games like Ghost of Tsushima) to appease shareholders which is why we have been bombarded by season passes and ingame shops in singleplayer games. Because on paper it promises higher returns
i don't understand HOW and WHY Yasuke has dreads, who taught him that? who did it for him? Japanese people definitely did not do it. i'ts just like the hip hop music while he is fighting, they ended up unironically racially profiling a black man. why couldn't he just had realistic 4c hair styled in a japanese way?
Ubislop deserve to shut down. All that talent wasted on churning out the same shit time after time. Paint by numbers games, excessive grind that they sell xp boosters for, screw em let em rot!
This whole realism is becoming a bit overbearingly painful. i don't understand why they won't even make rayman or toon like games. ape escape was so special!
I found this quote: "My wallet identifies as non-buy-nary" Don't buy modern stuff - we already see how much money those companies are losing. THEY need US. We do not need them.
@octavianpopescu4776 A lot of the animosity towards this game stems from Yasuke. People have been asking for an AC game in Japan for a long time and Ubisoft's answer was a Hip Hop Samurai. If a Jin Sakai type character was shown I think the initial reception would have been much more favorable
@@TearsInReign I think people would need to be more patient and not jump to conclusions. It's too early to tell. Ubisoft’s apathy for their customers and creating a good product; or perhaps this is evidence of Ubisoft’s woke ideology getting in the way of a good product, and their blindness caused by that ideology - is the fact that Ghosts of Tsushima came out several years ago at this point and Ubisoft still had the arrogance to believe that their game could compete with that.

Marketing for Prince of Persia The lost crown was so terrible. Even demo for this game wasn't convincing enough because they cut out game's story from it and did a cliffhanger on bossfight. Like WTH ubisoft you cut out some of best parts of gameplay from game's beggining and this is supposed to convince me to buy it?
It’s not like I was going to buy Shadows anyway, but Ubisoft pulling out of the Tokyo Game Show at the last minute would have been the final nail. Unprofessional, bush league way to do business. Didn’t even give the hosts a chance to make alternate preparations, just dumped a shitload of extra work on the organizers. Ubisoft didn’t want to face the music in Japan for their decisions and it’s an act of selfishness and supreme cowardice to walk away with no notice.
I can already see the seething headlines from the new Assassin's Creed becoming the next Concord. "Well congratulations Internet, you just bullied the beautiful game Assassin's Creed Shadows off the face of the planet!!!".

I'm not a marketing expert, but delaying Shadows into a crowded February 2025 seems like a bad move. Imo, Shadows was the most intriguing game left to release this year. I would've at least been keeping an eye on it. But now releasing in February right in between KCD2 and Avowed, games I will be purchasing/playing Day 1, Shadows needs to be amazing 10/10 game for me to even consider it. I think it might be joever for Ubisoft.
Ubisoft made a bunch of DEI hires. By definition DEI means mediocrity. They can SAY whatever they want, and they may even mean what they say, but until they fire the DEI hires, it won't matter. A dev at Ubislop recently said people at the company have found themselves in front of HR for putting emojis and exclamation points in emails. There are entire departments sitting around waiting to get offended. That is their priority. Making video games is just an accidental byproduct of their mission. There is a video game crash coming, and i don't expect Ubisoft to survive it.
The ENITRE AAA game industry is paying close attention to this game. Sony’s failures and now Ubisoft shows all of the other studios that the audience will only take so much gaslighting, antagonizing, and half-efforted comments before said audience decides to literally rip out the heart of the studio itself (that ever so elusive $$$) It makes me laugh knowing major gaming studios and shaking in their boots trying to figure out how they should respond to the examples of Ubisoft and Sony in recent months
I actually miss the old assassin's creed. Years ago, like 14 years ago. I put so many hours into AC and farcry and it's sad to see how ubisoft turned to shit like this. Once my favorite developer now for a long time I see a new game by them and only glance for a moment in the game store and never even consider it or look at the cover again.
Nobody mentioning Shadows delay coinciding with Ghost of Yotei announcement is kinda breaking my mind lol Like there’s probably some correlation there…
I don't care what changes they do to the game, I refuse to play as a non Japanese samurai who is butchering Japanese people in Japan. I'd rather replay Ghost of Tsushima wile waiting for its sequel. The fact that it was mandatory that the protagonist must be black it bogles me. Also over 90% of games don't have any romances unless it makes sense and it is tied to the main story, like in RDR2 or Days Gone. In AC, just like in BG3 is utterly unnecessary and has zero relevance to the story. But Ubisoft HAD to include romance otherwise how would we know that the characters and NPCs are all gay, bi, fluid, or gay-unicorn-chickens?! And I ask... in what way does this help the story telling or the game in general?!
Ghost of Tsushima will be better than shadows by a landslide, concord just showed what happens if you release a terrible copy of a game that came out years (or a decade) ago. Rotten company, if capitalism worked, they wouldve gone bancrupt before covid.
If you bought Ubisoft share 24 years ago, they are worth about the same now. In 24 years they have done nothing or they have lost everything they had done. Let that sink in.
The ridiculous part is for at least 15 years people have wanted an assassins creed game set in feudal Japan. This should literally have been a licence for Ubisoft to print money. But the trouble is as far as im concerned is Ubisofts performance lately with skull and bones and outlaws i could sum up in 2 words....."who asked?" People wanted and expected a japanese assassin dressed as a ninja sneaking about stabbing people. But who asked for Yasuke? Why was it necessary to have him as a PC? Most people likely didnt even know who he was until ubisoft uttered the name and thats evident because most forums discussing him are making post hoc arguments about whether or not he was a samurai. And as far as im concerned anyone who claims to know whether or not he was a samurai.....DOESN'T!
There's so little information about Yasuke that it's really hard to confirm what he actually was, but the main "historian" who has put forth the most "information" about him is basically writing fanfiction and presenting it as fact. The most likely truth that most scholars actually believe is that Yasuke was a retainer of a minor feudal lord, who used him more like a sideshow attraction than an actual retainer. From what little information I was able to find he was only ever part of one small battle and it ended in a loss, and Yasuke most likely was taken to India afterwards
@Red-hm8cd that lord was allegedly Nobunaga Oda and if so not so minor. But even then it doesn't establish the facts of the matter. Retainers could be samurai and often were in someone as high up in the societal hierarchy as Nobunaga. But on the other hand Nobunaga was said to have had a fondness for foreign curios (which may explain his gun fascination) and that may well have been all Yasuke was to him. Apparently when first presented to Nobunaga he initially had Yasuke regularly bathed. Not because he stunk but because of his skin colour. Nobunaga and his councillors thought he was covered in ink.
Pretty much the only way Shadows isn't going to screw over Ubisoft is if they rework the game. Get rid of the woke trash, replace the black guy with an actual Japanese dude, and stop the pandering. But we all know they won't do that. Wokeism runs deep like cancer in people.
haven't checked if its still the same recently but in some games like trackmania on steam after installing it it will still redirect you too the ubisoft launcher for login so holding my breath on the death of that.
It doesn't really matter as long as you have a black samurai in your game. The game is going to sell very little copies of the game. Cuz there is too many other games coming out around the same time that are much better.
Was waiting for your analysis. Whilst I think Ubi are too far gone as a company to make a comeback anytime soon . My best hope would be that they sell of IPs to people who care about those franchises and don't pollute themselves with all the BS that came with Ubi..
I disagree. As long as a company doesn't go bankrupt, they can always recover. Ubisoft made absolute gems in the past, meaning that they are able to do it know. Suits need to shut up and stop thinking with their stocks and start letting artists to do their art. Listen to your customers and you can achieve success, is not that hard
Activision, Blizzard, EA, Ubisoft, Bioware and many many more are companies that are long past their prime. They are the company equivalent of Joe Biden; demented, slow, coasting by on past successes while failing spectacularly in the present. Most of the true talent and visionaries that started and/or made these companies are long gone, and in their place are a bunch of talentless and creatively bankrupt posers, people who may have basic programming skills but have zero creative spark or sense of imagination. Most of them sorely lack life experience and thus lack anything interesting in their lives to draw upon for inspiration, so they're left with nothing more than their poorly conceived and even more poorly thought out trendy luxury social issues, issues nobody else finds interesting or meaningful, and thus most of us are just walking away from these companies. I haven't opened my wallet for any of these companies for near on a decade now, because honestly there's more than enough eastern games far more worth my time and far more AA or indie games that are far more interesting fun and creative at a fraction of the cost. So why would I bother to play games like Assassin's Creed: Uncle Rukus invades Japan?
Honestly, some of these companies need to fail in order for new ones to rise up and be better; or maybe they actually change and do better. There’s only so much bad that can happen until a revolution of change happens, whether it be culturally, politically, economically, or even in places such as art, which includes gaming. Currently, capitalism (no this isn’t some commie rant) is strong but the fact that corporate suits have dominated these spaces that we have held so dear have tainted so much of our comfort spaces.
I no longer buy any Ubisoft products, nor can I be forced to. I no longer buy any EA products, nor can I be forced to. I no longer buy any Sony... Activision... Nintendo... Annapurna products, nor can I be forced to. And funny how I still find awesome games to play. WE DON'T NEED THEM. AT ALL.
This is exactly the reason why I don't buy games like valhalla, odyssee, etc unless they're on an 80-90% discount. Hell, I even bought the early creed game on pennies on the dollar on cdkeys. If I must wait 5+ years for it to be discounted to get the best experience of a single player game without the bugs etc, so be it. In the end, it will be to my benefit and to be Ubisoft's detriment when I don't buy at Launch prices.
"the woke" hate everything about this. "The woke" feel heavily condescended and pandered to. "The woke" are actually on exactly the same side as you are, and everyone else is celebrating that fact because it obviously made a difference for once. "The woke" also obviously produced this video and are heavily involved in the entire trouble shooting process. But calling names and kicking down to feel just that little bit better about yourself is just too damn enticing, isn't it?
@SeleenShadowpaw Well, your "woke" people seem to only really say that they're on our side when it's convenient for them. When a game like concord, star wars outlaws or AC shadows is such a burning heap of trash or a company is so well known for being absolute bare minimal dog 💩, that they all end up trying to backpedal the same hypocritical stances they had for other succesful games. Last of us 2, gow ragnarok, spiderman 2 and its uglification of good looking characters. All of a sudden it becomes "why do you guys care so much", "It doesnt affect you", "Seeing mountains out of molehills". Not a single peep when noticeable leftist ideology is planted within these games since they're succesful. Anyone who represents themselves as the people on the "woke" side will never be our allies in any form or shape throughout society. It is this leeway that we previously have given towards such a corrupted and idealistic doctrine that has influenced major corpos to homogenize and uglify modern entertainment just so they can maximize their profits and appeal to the lowest common denominator of hive minded drones. There's a reason that gatekeeping hobbies has become far more practiced nowadays....

I'm way behind on the AC series and I only have the digital copy. Wanna get a physical copy before the company goes under, the license runs out, and the price of physical copies skyrocket.
Until they make the protagonist a Japanese ninja man I aint buying anything Ubisoft anymore. I aint playing a NFL linebacker pretending to be stealth,, there is no such thing in nature.
The only reaction I had with hearing all the sudden panic changes for ubisoft was "Neat. Shame I stopped caring years back." Ubisoft chose to dive headfirst into their septic tank, and in the time they've been eating their own shit, other better companies have come around. People have long gotten used to not owning Ubisoft games because the company has done all they could to ensure players didn't want them. Suddenly turning around now won't change things, least of all for a flawed product like Shadows. But hey, if they think pushing the game's release closer to Ghost of Yotei is a good business strategy, then more power to them. They truly are the AAAA dev.
One thing they should go back to doing is just continue making original protagonists for AC. Look, I don’t have a problem with Yasuke. I’m super fascinated with his story and you can definitely do something cool with that with him as the protagonist of his own game, I just don’t think AC was the right game to do that. If they had Yasuke as a supporting NPC character and then maybe give him his own DLC later (like with Jack the Ripper), that probably would have gone down better imo.
Since you're American, I assume you're monolingual, so these may have been things you overlooked.

as a native Japanese speaker, I can go ahead and say that google translate is still actually incredibly bad at translating english to Japanese and any longer phrases/sentences translated with it would be obvious to Japanese people.
However, this does not disprove your point.
It’s a fantastic utility, but one must use it with care. One way I test the results is to feed the results back into the system to see if it returns the original phrase. I have nothing but apathy for the western gaming industry.
Yeah me too I can't stand it anymore.
i feel sorry for the western people. i like them. i even adopted a western name because i found it really cool.
i still respect them for all the advanced technologies and all the scientific discoveries. but the more i found out about their cultures, or a lack thereof, the more disappointed i became.
it's not just the western gaming industry, but the entire western media that's f**ked. it's all messed up. gender wars, racial wars, all kinds of nonsen politics, et cetera. now even entertainment, which was one of the western world's strongest points, is getting ruined.
however it's not all bad, if you don't just consider the mainstream, the big names, the giant corporations. in fact, stop reading the news. get into communities, you'll see vibrant activities and people having fun with a ton of well crafted games, ones that are made with passion, and those that people actively enjoy even the process of making it. the indie scene.
i promise you, it's not all bad. it's okay to feel frustrated or start to lose hope sometimes, when you see epic failures of integrity and a complete absence of soul, like some of the recent gaming updates, what with bethesda, sony, ubisoft and the likes. with dei, with sweet baby scandals, and other rubbish. the freaks.
_(the great news is that while damages had to be done, the freaks have ousted themselves now. and they'll have nowhere to run, especially with how loud they can't help getting. the best thing to do is to ignore them and let them ruin themselves, because it's bound to happen. you don't even have to do anything, nature will take its course.)_
so let's focus on the positives. a vibrant gaming community, where at least some, if i'm trying to be modest, at least *some* that are passionate about the whole thing. devs and gamers alike. there are people who care. those who know how to have genuine fun.
it's not the western gaming industry that's dying or deserving of apathy. it's a leadership problem. a company structure problem. an organizational problem.

Lets say.... Nintendo comes over, absorbs Ubisoft and let them make the future pokemon games... cause gamefreak is not capable of making those games anymore XD
Ubisoft might just be the only company that could fuck Pokemon up worse than Game Freak
@@darkdrake0389 gamefreak simply didn't do much with pokemon, wasting its potential.
but ubisoft might legitimately fuck it up lmao. wait, we can comment "fuck" now? i thought YT was still censoring everyone to death.
@@ethanfreeman1106 Yeah don’t get me wrong, I hate how poorly Game Freak has handled Pokemon, but bringing in Ubislop isn’t going to save it, lol
Replacing one devil for a worse one...not the best idea.
Well unless Nintendo forces a huge overhaul in Ubisoft
Nintendo would rather sue competitors out of business than actually make a better product.
He said they are now “listening”
omfg did you bump your head??? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
They aren’t listening to anyone and this will not make the game better.
Sony’s failures and now Ubisoft shows all of the other studios that the audience will only take so much gaslighting, antagonizing, and half-efforted comments before said audience decides to literally rip out the heart of the studio itself (that ever so elusive $$$)
It makes me laugh knowing major gaming studios and shaking in their boots trying to figure out how they should respond to the examples of Ubisoft and Sony in recent months
ngl even though i was the only person hyped for shadows im happy, the fact that they will polish it this time makes me even more hyped somewhat
Don’t worry, I’m hyped for Shadows too. I just wish they would show a story trailer
Exactly, the games gonna be better now. Just have patience.
Hi Mugthief, where are you from if you dont mind me asking? I get the faintest hint of an accent but can't tell. 😇
One can only hope. I loathe what Ubisoft stands for, I pray they go bankrupt. And no they aren't changing sht. DO NOT BUY ANYHING UBISOFT>
Nobody mentioning Shadows delay coinciding with Ghost of Yotei announcement is kinda breaking my mind lol
Like there’s probably some correlation there…
I don't care what changes they do to the game, I refuse to play as a non Japanese samurai who is butchering Japanese people in Japan.
They probably hope that all the gamer-girlfriends are going to gift AC Shadows to their boyfriends as a Valentine's Day gift 😄
This company and game died with the decision to make Yasuke the protagonist.
Ghost of Tsushima will be better than shadows by a landslide, concord just showed what happens if you release a terrible copy of a game that came out years (or a decade) ago. Rotten company, if capitalism worked, they wouldve gone bancrupt before covid.
Stock down 11.58 to 9.52 in the last 24hrs, thats monumental for a company this size.
If you bought Ubisoft share 24 years ago, they are worth about the same now.
In 24 years they have done nothing or they have lost everything they had done.
Let that sink in.
That’s so damn sad holy hell
"For the broadest audeince possible" is wrong, they still don't get it, make a good game and the audience will buy it.
The ridiculous part is for at least 15 years people have wanted an assassins creed game set in feudal Japan. This should literally have been a licence for Ubisoft to print money.
But the trouble is as far as im concerned is Ubisofts performance lately with skull and bones and outlaws i could sum up in 2 words....."who asked?"
People wanted and expected a japanese assassin dressed as a ninja sneaking about stabbing people.
@@Red-hm8cd Guy was a glorified exotic pet 😂. No one wants to hear it tho lmao
@@panzershreck8077 lmao if you put it that way
@Red-hm8cd that lord was allegedly Nobunaga Oda and if so not so minor.
This is random an appreciation post that companies who deeply care like Larian are flourishing
Watching this company fall is beautiful and well deserved. Shorting Ubi in the market has been a great decision. Go woke go broke baby!
Pretty much the only way Shadows isn't going to screw over Ubisoft is if they rework the game. Get rid of the woke trash, replace the black guy with an actual Japanese dude, and stop the pandering. But we all know they won't do that. Wokeism runs deep like cancer in people.
Kinda sucks... I found the stealth gameplay to look kinda fun. It's a shame that companies can't seem to get it right.
they moved a woke game to black history month
Despite being only 13% of the population, over 50% bought AC shadows.
We wuz Samuraiz fo da bushido clanz and shieezz
haven't checked if its still the same recently but in some games like trackmania on steam after installing it it will still redirect you too the ubisoft launcher for login so holding my breath on the death of that.
It doesn't really matter as long as you have a black samurai in your game. The game is going to sell very little copies of the game. Cuz there is too many other games coming out around the same time that are much better.
I optimistically hope they are in Damage Control Mode.
Ghost Of Yotei releases in February A far soppier samurai game set in Japan.
Hey Mug, new to your channel and I have enjoyed your last couple of videos. You've got a sub from me.
Another great video thievery of mugs, now give me back my mugs please. :v
Brandon Herrera with glasses ⁉️
Mug hit the trifecta on this video 🤣
Doesn’t monster hunter wilds just get announced for February? I could be wrong tho
Monster hunte r wilds, like a dragon a yakuza pirate in hawai, and some other games are in February
Hell, I even bought
the early creed game on pennies on the dollar on cdkeys. If I must wait 5+ years for it to be discounted to get the best experience of a single player game without the
bugs etc, so be it. In the end, it will be to my benefit and to be Ubisoft's detriment when I don't buy at Launch prices.
100% moved it to Black History Month to soften the backlash. Sadly, the woke will make it work. Solid play by Ubisoft, unfortunately.
"the woke" hate everything about this. "The woke" feel heavily condescended and pandered to. "The woke" are actually on exactly the same side as you are, and everyone else is celebrating that fact because it obviously made a difference for once. "the woke" would like you to actually look at what is going on and what people are saying in this very comment section.
@@SeleenShadowpawWhat the hell are you yapping about?

*Facetious comment
Seeing all this news about Ubisoft being real close to shutting down has convinced me to find a physical copy of Syndicate before it's too late. I'm way behind on the AC series and I only have the digital copy. Wanna get a physical copy before the company goes under, the license runs out, and the price of physical copies skyrocket.
Until they make the protagonist a Japanese ninja man I aint buying anything Ubisoft anymore. I aint playing a NFL linebacker pretending to be stealth,, there is no such thing in nature.
yasuke isn’t the stealth character it’s naoe. yasuke is the fighting chatctee
@@scr3verrrb70 Yeah but still this defies the very meaning of “assassin” They should have renamed it Destroyer’s Creed or something.
@@tonyg3091 but how if there is an assassin in the game? and u can play as naoe 95 percent of the time
The only reaction I had with hearing all the sudden panic changes for ubisoft was "Neat.
