Hello mate. I just bought this flashlight, four years after your video and thanks to your review XD. I will receive it next week. I hope I don't feel disappointed. Although for the price I paid (€21), I think it is well worth the risk. Thank you very much for your videos and the time you dedicate to them and greetings from Spain.
@@CharlesBridgTec Hello again Charles. Here I am! I already received the flashlight and last night I had the opportunity to go out and test it in dark areas. And since you requested me, I give you my impressions. First of all, apologies for making a review on your channel. I'll try to make it not too long. Ok, here we go. The finish and appearance are excellent. Perfect machining. It has considerable weight for its size, but you have to keep in mind that genuine 26650s already weigh quite a bit. Aesthetically it is beautiful. An almost traditional looking lantern with the modern addition of ventilation grooves. Plenty of power for everyday use. Both for leisure and for work. The power levels are well graded. I might have added another mode between 500 and 2000 lumens. 1200 I think would have been good. It would still be powerful with a little more battery life and less heat. But it's just my opinion. The 2000 lumens mode hits buildings at 300 meters with brutal force. There is no complaint about it. The 25, 200 and 500 lumens modes are perfectly usable in a multitude of situations. Very good compromise between flood and throw. What I didn't like and I think it should be changed is the UI. The instant turbo mode with half a press is a success. But I don't like the fact that it doesn't have a memory mode and always turns on in turbo. It also doesn't have a strobe. Ok, it's a flashlight so people don't get complicated. But if children pick it up to play or the elderly or unaccustomed people, when they press it for the first time, they will always go to turbo and that is dangerous for their eyes if they are not careful. I think the simple UI of the Sofirn, the SC18 or the IF22A for example, would be ideal. Without ramp mode, if you don't want. I would even put it in beacon mode because the flashlight stands up perfectly for this function. To finish (the review is getting long), say that the flashlight can work with 18650 batteries if you place an adapter or O-rings of the appropriate size around the battery. PLUS: It also works with the container of 3 AAA batteries that many generic flashlights include!!!!!! I've tried it with one and it works. Just look for one that fits well in diameter and length. For the diameter, use O-rings and for the length, a coin or two will do. With this and a good supply of AAA batteries, you won't have a problem with running out of battery and not being able to charge. Okay Charles. I leave. Thank you for your time, your attention and your videos.
I really trust Xiaomi products. I have a phone, it's been excellent. I also have a roomba style robot cleaner, and it's way better than the roomba for a lot less money. That giant reflector makes the light more efficient. I dislike the clicky switch modes. Wish there were a turning ring just forward of the tail piece that would adjust brightness from zero to full bright. Make it happen Charlie!
I see there's a face in the tree of life in this review.. Well done review as usual. U maimtain a very informative n professional standard in your reviews..
Very interesting light. Xiaomi is a fine company, they make first class products, their phones are top, their drones too. And that goes with moderate prices. Hope they make many more. Only Xiaomi, please add 2 things: moonlight and ramping. Now this light is a bit old school.
just a few day ago i bought this kind of flashlight , and propably there are very much more kind of flashlight that are much expensive , but i am surprised of this kind of lucky , very very good for the price and other !!!!
Great review as always! I just got one of these and you are correct, the light's build quality is excellent and the fit and finish are top notch. The user interface needs to be tweaked though. I do not like the fact that it does not have last mode memory and always comes on in high mode. Somebody may be able to mod it, but not me. Some may like it that way though if they are getting this to use as a tactical (Tacticool?) device! :)
The balance between Lumens power and Running time is below 1000 Lumens is the best. The brigthest it is, the more power it use and the hottest its get.
The discount is aggressive on the Nextool compared to the Astrolux FT03 with XHP50.2. Don't own a thrower but the options are bewildering... Someone on BLF mentioned taking two torches with you (flood and throw) in which case the larger torches would be at a disadvantage.
Not in range but has a combination beam type verses the v6 which is a dedicated thrower. The NexTool price is cheaper and just as good in quality as ThruNite. Thanks for watching!
@@TheHellfire2000 At maximum brightness ~ 3 hours from the standard battery. 2 mode is 5 hours, 3 mode is more than 17 hours, the weakest is more than a day. I have such a lantern myself.
