I just love that Husso screenshot 'cause it looks he's trying to scare the Avs player so he loses control of the puck or something lol or like turns back away 'cause of the scary monster!
Rawr.
He's making himself big it's so funny
My cat used to do that to scare me 🤣🤣🤣
*FUN FACT:* Husso just finished watching "Turning Red" before the game and was just doing an imitation of a red panda.
@@jimb.7523 🤣🤣🤣
Mike Smith is goaltending's drunk uncle. You never know what he's gonna do, but you're probably gonna have fun watching
Totally. Trevor Kidd 2.0!
as a oilers and big time smith fan, it is equally both entertaining and exhausting to cheer for him.
Lol no truer words have been spoken
@@annethygesen-tarney9677 whenever he plays the puck behind the net I lose a day off my life.
@@j4gerb0mblitz No kidding. Fun watching? Dude's going to give me a stroke at this rate.
Imagine being Florida, having 2 Tampa goals called back in one game, then still losing and getting swept.
And not to mention they lost by two goals. Lol
And they had over 20 more shots on goal
not only did they lose that game, they got shutout despite having taken 49 sog 😭
Remember the days when Dang-Its were three (maybe four, maybe five, maybe six) plays and four (maybe five, six or seven) minutes long? Fast forward a handful of years and here we have a 35-minute Dang-Its. And I personally think that's a Hat Pick.
In the playoffs...
some of this is due to YT monetization, but yeah the number of plays being featured per week is staggering
Give Steve too much time and he turns uninteresting
Why put in effort when you can make the same boring video with the same commentary over and over and over?
BOA has been so crazy that Steve couldn't even fit in Calgary also getting the exact same early whistle non-goal, the bad giveaway and change that lead to Kane's first goal of his hat trick, and Kassian and Archibald slamming into each other at top speed.
you forgot the oilers collision where kassian gets rocked by his own player
I laughed more at Steve's reaction when Rasmus Andersson scored than the goal itself
Same broo
You say a goal, but all I see is a hole in one 😂
"Avalanche blowing 3-0 lead and failing to close the series" is like Steve Strikes Back
Only if they lose the next two games, lol.
@@aralornwolf3140 *when*
@@michaelfondaw6752 ,
Lol. Want to make this into a proper trilogy?
Not a true dangit until they lose the series, otherwise it's forgotten about.
@@buzzsaw1000 It will be forgotten.
35 min of dang it, It’s gonna be very fun to watch !!!! It’s also showing that Steve is right : Being in playoffs --> more mistakes
I feel it's more because plays are more under the lens of everyone. Not many people would've watched a game between the Coyotes and Kraken in the regular season, as opposed to the much-anticipated battle of Alberta in the playoffs. Plus, it always feels worse when the two teams colliding are supposed to be so good!
Thank you for including the blown 3 goal lead by Colorado. Wasting MacKinnon's hat trick was a HUGE dang-it.
Agreed, massive dang-it. The best game Mack has played in these playoffs, his beautiful goal, wasted all of it.
That still makes me cringe
Poor Husso!! 😂 Don't you love it when you're watching a live game, and you instantly know that a play is going to be a dang it?!?!?
IF YOUR A GOALTENDER.....pay attention?
From a Blues fan: Wait! You can review a goal that was from a HAND PASS? Since when?!?! Anyways, that's a dangit.
Since that game...
Because the play shouldve been blown dead once it happened
That game is literally the reason they made hand passes reviewable lol
Yeah I know. That's the point of the comment
Even though he made some stupid decisions sometimes I really miss Kadri on the leafs. I'm at least happy to see Colorado taking good care of our boy. It made me so happy seeing the Colorado fanbase defending him.
“Tending the goal” was a very loose definition of what Mike smith was doing.
On the Lightning second no-goal handpass, it's even worse than stated.
Not only did they do a review to remove a goal from the game, but the reasoning used to disallow the goal is actually a 2 minute penalty. But the review can remove the goal but it does not give Tampa a 2 minute penalty. Why exactly?
NHL Rulebook states:
"67.2 (i) Attempts to win the face-off by batting the puck with their hand."
So he wins the faceoff by using his hand, his team scores a goal. They call off the goal because of the hand pass from the faceoff but do not call a penalty as the rulebook states they were required to do so.
The NHL is an absolute joke of an organization and a house cleaning needs to happen on all levels.
hopefully bettman will finally retire and the nhl will return to normal, not being run like an nba affiliate
It's ridiculous but the reasoning is this. A penalty can not be reviewed (unless it's a high sticking major, shrug). What they reviewed was a "missed stoppage". Something happened that should have resulted in a stoppage of play that would have negated the goal. It doesn't matter what the something is, all they are reviewing is if the whistle should have blown. Exactly the same as the puck hitting the net on the first one. By rule they can't review to give a missed penalty.
"What do you mean you're editing something terrible over my face?"
I still don't understand why a hand attached to the stick is not considered part of the stick. If you remove your hand from the stick then its a hand pass, but if it hits your hand while you are holding your stick, why isn't it considered the same as hitting the stick?
Think like the kicked-in/re-directed rule for foot-goals-the difference is whether you're swinging your limbs. If the puck hit a stationary hand, that would be different.
Edit: For the record I posted this the morning-of. I'm sorry.
After Steve's rant about reviewing penalties, I'm surprised he didn't include the Interference call on McDonagh when he hit a Panthers player that had the puck in his hand. That was so blatantly bad of a call, that it would have taken one replay in a review to go "Oh, that's definitely not a penalty."
"He doesn't have the Scorpion part of the Scorpion, just the claws..."
So.... basically a small crab?
As a diehard Blues fan, I would've been with you on the swearing. Racism is a big f*cking Dang It. Jesus what a week.
That Anderssen goal is like when a soccer player catches the goalkeeper napping off his line and kicks it over into the goal.
I was at that Colorado game 5 and watched the hat trick and Steve is right that is 100% a dang it. I have never seen a game at any level where you can score a hat trick and still lose.
Husso must have learned that arm flailing from Nick the Goalie 🤣
I think another Dang-It can come from the clip of Husso getting pulled too early which is the commentator saying "Coloravalanche" and almost calling MacKinnon McDavid.
Let's also not ignore the Florida v Tampa commentator say Vaskileski
25:20 As a Red Wings fan who watched the game where we got our collective history handed to us by the Penguins to the tune of 11 goals, this goal 100% counts and has precedence. The whistle blowing does not stop a play dead according to that game and if the puck is in the process of going across the net in a hockey play then it legally counts. The Oilers were either completely and indisputably the victims of bureaucratic larceny or are an irrefutable example of a league which harbors glaring double standards.
You should have watched the LA series! Game 3 through 6 were a class A case study of blatantly biased reffing;
e.g. Mickey Anderson gave multiple applications for a suspension (basically trying out all sorts of *wrestling moves* on the ice, after whistles and/or far away from play!), which was constantly being overlooked.
At times the oilers couldn't play w/o the most minute infraction being whistled down, whilst the kings could do whatever they wanted.
This league is corrupt to the point where I just want to drop watching it at times, like a bad habbit, constantly ruining my mood.
They aren't even subtle about their manipulation!
You remember the "Kesler vs. Talbot goalie-pads" incident in 2017?
That was officiated by Chris Rooney.
Who was also allowed to officiate game 3 Edm-LAK... Oilers fans have a name for it: "california reffing"...
I just can’t even that last one. Wow. Thank you for clipping your genuine reaction. Hockey is amazing.
Husso reminded me a red panda, when it tries to look bigger and scarier. But it’s just funny 😄
As a die hard Blues fan, I’m so very thankful Perron did the smart thing and not smoke an unsuspecting Kadri. Wouldn’t even be “stooping to his level” as the Binner incident was a loose puck play.
Any St. Louis or general NHL fan who helped put the Kadri family through that are truly low and should be ashamed.
Agreed, you can hate on Kadri all you like for his behavior on the ice as a player, and he certainly deserves the lack of love for the countless cheap shots he’s delivered come playoff time, but you got to leave it there and not bring in any racist bullshit in to the conversation because frankly it does two things. One, it turns Kadri into a victim, which he is, and two it take the focus off the bad decisions that he is responsible for allowing Kadri to distance himself from that reputation that he definitely deserves.
The Perron Phantom elbow deserved some kind of action from the DoPS... Like suspend him 10 games beacuse that's an intent to injure or even destroying Kadris career
You know that goal on Smith might have a whole lot to do with the color of the Oilers. You can see from that angle behind the net how hard the puck was to pick up.
This was a great episode. Good job, team!
Next week's Dang Its and Hat Picks are going to be great, too.
As Blues fan, I'm disgusted at the actions of some of this fan base.
Same. Although I was mighty pleased by Wednesday's win.
Same here.
Luckily it’s a small (if noticeable) minority
I think you missed the duo of "we blew the whistle too early so that goal didn't count" goals in the battle of alberta, the reffing was a complete joke
Forgot to mention when Kadri just casually stole Kyrou’s stick and skated to the bench with it and wasn’t penalized in Game 3 🤣
Yes because that's the most important thing to mention out of everything in the series
Shhhhh you’ll ruin his saintly image
You completely missed the point of the entire comment. It wasn't ignoring what else happened in the series it is pointing out what looked over.
@@ketamineaddict156 “saintly image” are we talking about the same kadri???
@@vaguelyobsessed2931 that’s the joke
To Kadri:
As an Avalanche fan I wasn't too excited when we traded for him, because all of the dirty plays he has made in the past, but since he's on the Avs and I got to see more about him off the ice, he's really a very decent person.
And also on the ice he has bettered himself a lot since he joined Colorado. Even the hit against Faulk last year was not a dirty hit, just a really bad one.
Avs fan too. Let's be honest, Naz has a mouth, complains constantly, and dives. He probably gets kicked out of faceoffs more than anybody, without explanation. Gabe touched on this. Tim Peel thinks Naz is a Me-First person. Bednar had a long talk with him before Game4, and the result was him staying calm and hurting the opponent where it counts: the scoreboard. Naz mentioned how much he's been biting his tongue this season; lo-and-behold he has a career year. You can see that when he channels his emotion into his offensive game he is a premier player.
That Faulk hit was directly to the head
"It's such a ridiculous sport but I love it." Same steve, same.
Markstrom's give-away sent chills down my spine and gave me PTSD flashbacks of Roy doing the same thing with Scottie Gomez in the '01 Finals.
They put 90% of the battle of Alberta in dangits this week and didn’t put the Kappo Kakko open net miss with 5 minutes left in game 1 between NYR and CAR
Other than that amazing video, hopefully the rangers can force a 7th game to give us more hockey this week!
As a blues fan, all I have to say about this video is, “SO NOW WE REVIEW HAND PASSES HUH!!”
Round 3 2019 for anyone who doesn’t know what I’m talking about.
As a tampa fan I'm on your side lol
Is that the one that glanced off of Bouwmeester's leg?
That game is literally the reason why hand passes are reviewable now lol
Good thing that blues hand pass was ok
I actually got a real kick out of Lucic’s takedown of Smith. Now, that’s some old-timey kinda hockey right there!
Oilers fan here. In 2006 the oilers tied a game late against the Dallas stars (if I remember correctly). The goal was waved off by the ref at the other end of the ice because he thought there was a hand pass off the faceoff. The coach couldn't challenge the call because it was not a reviewable play. So my question is, how can Florida challenge that there *was* a hand pass if it's not a reviewable play?
Hand pass is a reviewable play now after 2019
@@calvinnance6432 can u tell me when on 4 on 4 WHEN a goal is scored, you DON'T get outta the box ???WTF, its not a 5 minute major
16:05 Me after watching Canada-Finland : He’s speaking the language of gods
Huge fan of the longer Dang-It's. Lets keep them coming!!
I’m sure every fan feels this in the playoffs with their team. As a blues fan that dang it by husso I’m sure it’s enjoyable to all other fan bases(like every one that’s not the blues is to me) I was like “omg stop it hurts!” 😂
Same
Yeaaaaahhhh... it's been a week for Blues fans.
As an Avs fan game five felt like all the previous years where the Avs blow it and give the series away. I didn't even watch game six until the last ten minutes. Which that was Blues dang-it.
@@avsfan291 omg I don’t even know if I can bare that dang it. I’ll say this props to the avs for not quitting the last ten seconds)when makar was behind his net). Blues just quite and we’re like ok let’s go to overtime
The best part of that Colton goal is when he stepped on the puck right after scoring, thus throwing off his celebration momentarily as he regained his balance! Evidently the puck wasn't that impressed with what happened and so it tried to take out the guy who shot it! LOL.
My favorite part was the ref teabagging domi.
Editing is on point this video.
Not that it isn't always, but particularly this video.
Pass from Kuch was beautiful. Colton was ready and drove it home. A dang it and a hat pick in one
Reviews (in soccer known as "VAR") should be time-limited, especially if it's initiated by the aggrieved team.If you can't come to a conclusion after 2 minutes of review, it was meant to be.
So I can pick up the puck with my stick like in lacrosse and throw it in, but I cannot allow the puck to touch my glove first. Really?
This was the best Dang-Its video yet. So much gold in here a pirate would be jealous.
That goal from Andersson is maybe the weirdest goal since the goal that Islanders scored against Toskala
It's ridiculous that one of the teams of battle of Alberta is going to advance. Like watching two clowns out-fumble each other to victory.
Yeah I’m a loyal flames fan, but I’m forced to admit it was like watching youth hockey 😅
Excellent as usual Steve. I am cheering for Colorado now as I wasn't aware of those dirty hits on Kadri.
As a Blues fan, the death threats and misconduct by our fans is an embarrassment. That type of behavior has no place in the world. We have to do better.
Don't lump in a couple of boneheads with us.
Definitely not. The Blues have a great fan base it's just frustrating when things like that happen because it puts a bad mark on a wonderful fanbase
That was such an awesome goal - the 132 fter. He should get more credit than he has. That was amazing. Sums up the whole series. Ridiculous, and so much fun 🤩
Producer Drew with the carnival music for the win! Great video as always.
i don't know what was worse, the goal mike smith allowed, or the fact the Steve was wearing a "that's a dang-it" shirt.
Hey, I can't watch your live streams for some reason. I go to the SportsNet youtube, it says it's live, but there's no video. Is it because I'm in the US or something?
Love you Producer Drew! I haven't laughed that hard all day after that heartbreaking loss last night.
34:26 I love how even the Flames fans behind the penalty box were confused lol
5:01 That would be Nick The Goalie on the ice acting like that LOL
"Let's just ignore the dystopian reality of our reality and take another look at this funny picture....bwaaaahahahahah!" Had me rolling on the fookin floor!...lol...
Hat Pick to the Blues' organ player @10:26 . . . song selection was on point 👌
Man I hate it when the puck goes **fleoeuhl** along the glass
i think a crab would have been a more apt metaphor, versus the scorpion reference that didn’t quite work. 😂
22:52 : Man, the Lighting dressed Vaskileski instead of Vasilevski and the Panthers couldn't even find a way to win.
When I was watching that COL-STL goal I was like, well that’s a huge challenge from Husso? And then I saw the replay and felt bad for him.. Guys on the ice gotta be more in tune with the pull
I'm so glad I got to watch the end of the Avs season yesterday. Makes me warm and fuzzy. Like mold growing on a fruit.
Aged like milk
The collision between Zack Kassian and Josh Archibald was one pretty big dang-it judging by your reaction during the live stream of the game.
The hand pass goal is an extra level of comedy because it’s a penalty to play the puck with your hand on a faceoff. So they admit they missed a stoppage due to a hand pass, yet they are unable to call the faceoff violation penalty that rightly goes with said hand pass.
I think it's fair that you can't call a penalty from the review, since the review depends on the puck going into the net. So you'd basically be punishing the team for getting the puck into the net after the refs missed the call. Maybe not that big of a deal with a faceoff violation, but for goaltender interference it would make the calls even more controversial than they already are.
@@romaliop You wouldn't be punishing a team for scoring, you'd be punishing them for committing a penalty that they were lucky enough to have missed by the refs.
I still don't understand why Milan Lucic doesn't have a life ban from the NHL yet.
33:46 The sudden realization was amazingly funny
Alright everybody, say the line:
IF YOU'RE A GOALTENDER
... Eh, it's not -really- his fault, Husso did get told to leave the goal and swap in another attacker. Still funny tho.
Can’t wait for tonight!! Your streams are best 😊 with you calling the game and Wes refereeing, going to be a good time. And please, praise the hockey gods, Flames win 🙏
its a good review bc its a missed call that you can see and call every time *did it touch the net*. but people slash and interference that refs let go every game. so those shouldn’t be able to be reviewed
ANDERSSON's goal was a fluke: SMITH didn't see the puck till too late.
1/ In the Flames' side of the rink, 3 OILERS' dark uniform hid the puck after ANERSSON fired it;
2/ in the OILERS' side of the rink, one OILERS' dark uniform did the same;
3/ the Referee close to Mike Smith knew to move away from the shooting lane;
4/ the puck hit the back of the net, was falling down, THEN Mike Smith raised his glove/left arm.
32:51 to 32:56
Thanks for this.
The entire series from the Battle of Alberta can be on Dang-It's and Hat Pick's. All 5 Games in their entirety.
I like the song that the Organ player was playing when Kadri scored
Tuesday
Steve Dangle "What a pass. Igor Shesterkin thats a hat pick
Thursday
Also Steve Dangle "If youre a goatender tend the goal (voice crack)."
33:30 you are hilarious mate, love your shows haha
A player got kicked off of the soccer club I play for. He played on the highest level. And ruined his career by sending an extensive instagram post sending threats of harm death, and telling Kadri to go back to his own country. This is the stuff that you can’t do. You shouldn’t even think that much less post it online. He got what he deserved and I’m proud of my club for handling it well.
As an Oilers fan I can say im glad with the call they made giving Lucic the 5 minute major
The refs get maligned alot but I just want to take a sec to give some props to officials when they deserve it. On the Lucic hit on Smith, that linesman dives in over Smith in spite of the avalanche of players headed that way. Not sure if he actually stopped anything worse from happening to Smith but the guy was on the spot and didn't even hesitate. Kudos to him.
Funny you say scorpion. I thought scared red panda when I watched it in game 😂
When the "proof" that Kadri didn't intend to injure is skipping the video footage and claiming that it's just not possible for player safety to get it wrong... that's a dang-it.😂🤣😂🤣😂
Since when has Player Safety taken it easy on Nazem Kadri? I mean, he fully deserved the Eye of Sauron level of scrutiny they put on him, but it's several layers of review that all came back with the view that Kadri did not do anything worth punishing on that play. Because he didn't. He's crashing for a loose puck like literally every other player would do.
Blues fans don't need to like it. I fully understand why they don't. But that doesn't mean their emotionally charged reactions are correct.
That Anderson 190 ft goal should have been a hat pick.. was perfectly timed as 2 oilers ended up screening Smith, who didn't see the puck until way too late
I’m still trying to figure out how Smith didn’t see that. Not sure if he was dreaming of big fat steaks after the game, since they were not in his corner he didn’t need to watch for the puck or something. I dunno, I hope you’ll message Smith that question lol. Not that you had a direct link to the team but here’s to hoping!
Florida Panthers = A complete #DangIt of a "Battle For Florida" series. I don't want to be the Canes or Rangers that have to play the Bolts in the East Final.
You forgot Chris Kreider missing the empty net! I know they still won but either way that was a huge dang it!
🤫
0:49 I mean if you don't shoot you won't score so you might as will throw it at the net and hope for the best right?
“Don’t be a racist and don’t send death threats” -- you got my follow!
The fact that this is all it takes to get a follow is sad.
That alberta wave off was a certified Chris Lee classic
also if someone can link me the Chris lee toronto Montreal calls it would be much appreciated
This video should be every goal scored against the Carolina Hurricanes during their playoff road games.
TFW Max Domi thinks he's as tough a scrapper as his dad was. And IMMEDIATELY regrets thinking such thoughts.
8:11 David Perron went full UFC.
Yep best game I've ever seen MacKinnon play, so good the rest of his team forgot they were playing hockey. That needs to be a Dang-It
Wait, that first Edmonton 'no-goal' was in the goal about 2-3 seconds prior to the time it went into the goal that got called off. 25:38
I've never noticed that until now lol
As an Avs fan you should’ve had the entire Colorado team minus MacKinnon on here for Game 5. Absolutely dreadful. You nailed it Steve. The best goal of MacKinnon’s career was wasted.
Landeskog’s postgame comment about how playoff games “aren’t supposed to be easy” was so ridiculous. He should’ve just said “We choked, me especially.”
Avs better close out Game 6 because I don’t know if I can handle a Game 7. Lol
