- From Season 4 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episode 4: The Saga of Andy Burnett, Part 1, "Andy's Initiation" which originally aired on October 2nd, 1957, starring Jerome Courtland, Jeff York, Andrew Duggan and Slim Pickens. Set in 1820, the first part of The Saga of Andy Burnett begins with young Andy Burnett eating dinner in a Pittsburgh tavern. He befriends Joe Crane, a penniless Mountain Man who comes to Andy's aid when a gang of thugs attacks him. Crane recognizes Andy's rifle as one made by Daniel Boone, which was given to Gail Burnett, Andy's grandfather and a true pioneer. Despite such a heritage, Andy is heading west to become a farmer--a prospect that dismays Crane. He decides to "persuade" Andy to head into the mountains with him and "borrows" Andy's money so he doesn't have a choice.

I can remember being so excited on Sunday evenings waiting for The Wonderful World of Disney. We had to have our bath done before and any homework due on Monday also completed. Great wholesome, heart warming stories.
I was thinking yesterday the same thing. We loved watching it
Disney 1980tvmovies
Walt would not be happy to see Disney today.
I still remember watching Walt Disney when I was a kid and now I’m 66 years old.
Me Too! And I’ll be 66 next month!

I had family that fought along side Boone back in the day. Great movie. I also grew up watch Walt Disney movies. Thanks for sharing this video.
Wow! Great family history! I’m glad you are enjoying this and the Boone series I’ve uploaded. Legends never die!
Mr Disney seemed like a personable uncle of sorts by his introduction to a show.
Yeah! It’s like you are visiting with family each time he talks about the show.
This movie is so old that Slim Pickins is still slim
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Never seen this movie before. Very interesting. I do enjoy oldies.
Took me right back to my coonskin cap days. Great memories.
So happy this took you back!!!
I had not seen this before. Thanks for posting. 😊
First I ever heard of
Andy Burnett...
I shall have to report him, to
THE Clan Burnett
😂🎉😢😊
A time when DISNEY actually made some great TV shows.
I just subscribed and watching the Gold you deposited on this channel!!!;
Thank you, Tracy! Andy Burnett is solid gold!! Love it!
Wow ! Thanks.
Haven’t seen this in forty years.
I wonder how many little boys tried those wrestling moves after watching this (about 43 min in)😂
great cast, great episode 1
100% agree!!! Great intro to the characters/plot….and gets you excited for the remaining episodes!!
Reminds me of The Lewis and Clark expedition. imagine travailing coast to coast and back in 1803 and losing only 1 man and that was for a medical reason.
😀 Thank you 😀 ❤ Love this series ❤Saw some of my favorite actors , Jeff York , Andrew Duggan , Slim Pickens , Robert Wilke and John Doucette . Will enjoy watching the other 5 episodes , to see who is in them .
Oh yes-Andrew Duggan, one of the most accomplished tv actors of his day; Bob Wilke, the pure distillation of villainy; Jeff York, the perfect frontier blowhard; and the incomparable Slim Pickens!

Awesome!
Cool showing. Was really great to see Walt again. Almost a prophet.
These rarely seen episodes with Walt Disney introducing the show are treasures! Yes...prophetic Walt...a lot of people follow him!
gee willickers the disney corp had a strangle hold over american schedules way back then olden days when the steam telly was still in black and white !
Disney died when Walt died.
Is it wrong that I think Tinkerbell has a cute Tushy?
You’ll need to take that up with Margaret Kerry (the live-action model) and Marc Davis!

Very nice old fashioned show 😂
Grew up with Mr. Disney every Sunday night, sure do miss those day. Wonder what he would say about Disney World today?
So did I on a black and white TV!
Loved it then and this is so awesome to see again
Back when Disney made quality movies and entertainment, it's a far cry from the crap they produce today. Walt is rolling over in his grave. Go Woke, GO Broke!
Where is the Walt Disney lead in?

Always check at least three sources before you assume something is true!
